Community on the Camino as a SOLO Hiker | Days 8-12
In the third video in my Camino de Santiago series I'm lucky to be joined by one of my friends for a few years, but even luckier to have made incredible friends on the trail already! Hiking as a solo female often offers its own challenges, but most of these are offset by the incredible community on the Camino.

Hey! I’m also planning to walk the camino March-April 2025. How is with the accommodation at this time. Are a lot of places closed? And I would love to see a video what to pack this time of the year because not a lot of people at least on youtube go at this time. Thank you for your answer☺️☀️ All the best, Sara

@@sara_violinist Hi Sara! Thanks for watching. I would say accommodation wise it's a great time to go because things are not fully booked and it's very easy to find places to stay! Some things were closed, especially when I started in March, but I would say even at the beginning more things were open than closed so it was never a problem. Just a bit disappointing when we had a freak 32C weather day and all the swimming pools were closed because it was too early in the season 🤣🤣 couple of quick packing tips - there were one or two nights where it got a bit cold and I was glad I had a proper sleeping bag rather than just a liner, so I do recommend bringing one. On the coldest days I wore a long sleeved top, a thin sports jacket, a thin down jacket and a waterproof shell. Definitely had one or two days where all 4 layers were needed but certainly not every day! Hopefully I'll get round to a full packing video soon 😊

Hi! Definitely would not recommend using an organised company for the Camino, it's a complete waste of money! In my case walking in March we could just walk in the front door of hostels and ask for a bed. A tip when in Spain, for lunch, ask for the "Menu Del Dia". This will cost not much. It is also great if you do not speak the language or do not understand the dialect. There will be a choice of 3 starters and 3 main courses. Then a desert or a coffee and includes water, wine or (My favorite) wine and Gaseosa. Don't overdo it with the wine. No need to empty the bottle. And I often just pick the second starter and the third main course they offer. No idea what I am getting, but that is the nice part of it. You get what the locals eat and learn new food. Do not expect anything fancy. And yes, this works in larger cities as well. Just look for signs that say Menu Del Dia. Just know most will only start lunch at 14:00 or later.

Guns can't walk, Richard 🤣🤣🤣 To be serious though, I'm not really worried about guns in the UK. I am worried about knives, which is why I was scared in the video!
