Jason’s Thoughts: Leadership Growth & Life Hacks
Добавлен 23 янв 2011
Just a guy with thoughts on my mind. Some align with the role that I have and others are just the way I see things.
I love what I do. I love to lead. I love to coach. I love to develop and I love to share.
I have heard it takes experiences to gain experiences. My hopes in sharing mine are that others can learn through things I've done!
I have my own thoughts and also invite friends and colleagues to share their thoughts on a topic they bring to the table to unpack. It’s always an open invite to anyone to join and that it’s unscripted and raw and from the heart and in the moment.

Movember! Why it’s important to me and how awesome it’s evolved over the last 14 years participating
A quick share on why I’ve participated in Movember for 14 years now in honour of one of my best friends that passed away.
How the program has evolved and how it’s really got men talking more about their health and mental health. It’s truly amazing to see how it’s changing the DNA of how the modern man thinks.

Good to see you trying to inspire people Jason. I learned a long time ago I'm not an entrepreneur or good at running a business so I'm still in this gov job lol We're making progress though, we dig our foundation next week so I need to learn how to be a carpenter/mason/roofer real fast!
@@Bl4zz3r good to hear from you Nik. I think I could do it but I’m still scared of making the jump like my buddy Bryce. Oh boy! Sounds like you’ll be a master Forman very soon lol.
This episode is Awesome! Thank you for words of wisdom & vulnerability. Please do 15 more episodes before the end of the year. ❤
@@cw9365 thank you Killda! We shall see if we can get there.
A very constructive conversation !! 👍
Thank you Liz for the feedback. Tiffany had some really good points to review.
Nice to see you Jase, I currently live in a little box but we're trying to build a big box to live in lol Still in Courtenay but things are always changing.
Hahaha thanks Nik for the feedback. We just moved back to Alberta so agreed. Things always changing. Hope you are doing well these days my friend.
Thanks for sharing your awesome bungee jump Hassan. You two are great together and talking things through is the way to go even when fear is the topic !!
Thanks Liz for the comment, the support and yeah his jump was amazing. I could not do it.
Amazing vlog boys! I absolutely love it
Thank you Bryce. Happy you picked me to MC your special day.
LOVE these conversations! Hassan, congrats on the new role. Jason, I'm with you on the bungi jumping LOL thnx but no thnx
Thank you Joao for the feedback and support. I equally love these convos. Real, raw and unscripted. Yeah. No bungi, no jumping out of airplanes. No no no lol.
Congrats on 80 !! 🎉 Excellent content and looking forward to more !
Thank you so much 🎉. The feedback is always appreciated 🙌🏼
You two fine gents talking about traditions is awesome. One of my Fav things around the Holiday season is lights! Hassan talking Niagara Falls - amazing lights in a park there you can drive through. Jason, the lights in Ladysmith - an even people from all over the Island attend ❤ Here in Nanaimo they have a map of all the homes that are lit up in town - we split it into 4 sections and Firdays go for a drive with Christmas music playing as we soak in the festiveness!
Love it!!! I need to check out the Nanaimo lights I think. Ladysmith I’ve likely taken for granted over all the years. A very merry Christmas to you Joao and thank you for sharing 🎉
Love all of this!! J - you mentioned "How do you think you did, tell me your highlights" Those approaches always make it feel like a conversation and not an interrogation!
Agreed 100%. It’s humans helping humans. A great coach is there to elevate the skills not destroy any shred of confidence. Thanks for the feedback and comment 🎉❤

5:19 Kinda funny how we have those experiences. I knew what I DIDN'T want to do (teach) and through my time at the Source learned that I LOVE helping people and today I am a Facilitater. Jason! Love these vlogs
Sometimes knowing what you don’t want can get us to what we do want. I love that you became a facilitator Joao and I bet you are an amazing one at that 🎉. Thank you for the feedback and call out. Your comments drive me to keep going.
I love this topic! My breakthrough was when I realized that "I love what I do and do what I love" And Jason, you have played a part in the process. So THANK YOU
Wow. Love that and thank you 🙏🏼 that means a lot thank you Joao. I always appreciated our time together.
❤
Thanks Sumail
Advice for weak people....
I disagree but would love to hear why you think that?
@@jasonlambrick5 The world is a place now that has been made by the strong, both physically and mentally, that weak people need cuddling... the irony is that the strong still continue to provide the framework under which the weak can be cuddled...
@@Pancajayna yeah I don’t know about that. I think even the strong need a place or outlet. Mentally everyone should. But I can see we aren’t aligned but appreciate your comment and thoughts. 👍🏼
I hear you Jase. My mom recently showed me all her relevant documents because she just turned 70 and is worried her time is up. She goes to the gym 3 times a week and has a way healthier lifestyle than anyone I know lol Sorry for the loss of your mom. Life is complicated.
Oh man. I’m happy she’s working on a healthier lifestyle but also sad she thinks her time is up. Death is scary for sure and we all will get there. I hope her lifestyle changes bring her so many more amazing years Nik. We all deserve a great and full life.
This was beyond amazing Jason! I loved the ask questions portion- my own internal hurdles is always trying to find the answers on my own and fearing to ask - being kind to myself and having the grace to say this will take time is such amazing insights !!
Thank you Hassan for the feedback and comments. We often can be our own worst enemy within our minds well before someone would get mad at us. Questions will come up no matter what you try to do. It’s part of the learning process. We just need to be confident that we can ask. Kindness to all by kindness to yourself is where it starts. ❤️
So much fun!
Agreed. A natural convo and lots of great thoughts, feedback and take aways. Thanks for the time Bryce.
Balance is the intersection of work and life? So work is balance until you die?
Thanks for the comment Lara
What a great episode!
Thanks Bryce! I’m so glad we had this convo and I know we are both so passionate about all things sales. I look forward to our next topic.
keep it up!
Wonderful !
It was for sure. A lot of fun and just the beginning.
Awesome!
GREAT EPISODE!
It was a lot of fun for sure. Thanks for making the time to unpack the convo.
LOVE IT!
Thanks Bryce 🎉👊🏼
Incredible video guys … The Vietnam Story resonated with me a lot and what a powerful share … It’s a story that’s more common than we’d like to think - it reminds me of a character from a book “The Alchemist-by Paulo Coelho” This character has a dream to travel somewhere and he tells his friend “I can’t travel until I have enough money “ Eventually he has more money than he can deal with … and he still doesn’t go .. he becomes paralyzed and creates a rational to not go Dw Bryce once you’re a millionaire you’ll be flying the world first class !!! @Jason I loved loved your take on this man … failure being apart of life and especially that line “Can’t be a Lamborghini without a Lamborghini “ ! Going back in time to prevent hurting someone is such a deep take … that being worth more than 10 million any day was a cool perspective from you… P.S GET BACK INTO ACTING DUDE WHAT ?!!! YOUd be AMAZING WE LL AUDITION TOGETHER Loved this video and can’t wait to see more come out !
We have you to thank for the idea 💡. We both really appreciated it as well as you can tell. Appreciate the feedback as it just fuels the fire 🔥
Can’t wait !
Yeah this one should be fun. I’m definitely looking forward to us continuing some great convos.
Great video, so true! Having someone to listen to you is truly amazing!
Thank you Bryce! I truly just love to share and hope even one person can learn from the content. I’m equally enjoying your content on your channel as well 🎉
I think this is a great discussion. For anyone who is new into sales, I think it would be amazing to delve deeper into setps one can take to build that relationship/rapport with folks. Would love to see you guys chat on that first impression we give people and building trust.
Thank you Joao for the feedback. This very much was a quick start up to bigger conversations and unpacking different areas of selling. It’s a great call out
I love it, keep it up J!
Thanks Bruce. You know me. Just getting started.
Give me a dump truck and an excavator and I'll make a change lol No seriously that's my dream ;)
Hahahaha love it. That is change everyday. And yeah. Hella fun. Or I imagine it would be 😂😂
Thank you Jason! Thanks for resetting my perception from all the problems and refocus on what’s more important. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the feedback. It’s a bit of work in progress for myself but I try to do my best to be better at it.
Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you Kim 🙏🏼
Hey dad
Jacob! 😂 🎉
Have you listened to Brene Brown yet? Her Ted Talks are amazing stuff and I get the same vibe from you as I do from listening to her. Especially when she talks about the rules she set out for her Daughter in her first year of University. I agree. I went to Uni. Got the Degrees and still changed career's 5 years in. Spent some time in retail and now am pivoting again. The interesting thing is the latest Research in Brain development states that the Human brain, specifically the Cerebral cortex (where our reasoning and personality are) doesn't finish developing until we are 30. So it is a biological fact that we are still figuring ourselves out until we are 30. bare minimum. And that's not even including all the obstacles and and life challeneges that come our way.
Thanks Charles for the comment and insight. Yes I’m a huge Brene Brown fan. I’ve listened to many of her podcasts over the years. Haven’t seen her Ted talks but I will check them out. There we go. 30 feels absolutely like the time. Thanks again for sharing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
AB Sound...you were the man lol
Yeah man. That was the start. Funny enough my Dad was visiting while I was in Edmonton and said hey did you know there is an A&B 5 blocks down the way? You should apply. I had no clue there was one so close. That was definitely fate. That was such a fun role for a long time.

Hey hey Nik! Great to hear from you. 😂 I think for me I’ve probably acted like im richer and spent a lot more than I should 😉 Let’s grab that beer someday soon 👍🏼
Truly sorry to hear about your mother! Thoughts and prayers to you and your family!
Thanks Joao! Time heals all wounds. Each day gets a bit easier for sure 👍🏼
Lookin good in your vizzy Jase New Years hasn't really been a thing for me in years.
Thanks Nik! Yeah New Years doesn’t need to be some big thing to shift desires etc. Just another year gone by.
Political correctness has moved from bullshitting people to deluding them about what ought to be and ought not to be This is ridiculous If one strips away political correctness out of himself he would grow 10 times as a person
Thanks for the comment. Would love to hear how you think this aligns to not using slang names instead of someone’s actual name?
I'm thankful I have the work I do but my dream is to have just one job. My week usually sounds like this: 8-430 full time job, 7-11pm part time job Mon-Thurs, and then random pizza delivery in between that and across the weekend. Oh and I've been building a rock wall for a friend from 5-630pm in between and on the weekend. Omg now that I look at that written down I think I might be over doing it :/
Thanks Jason, been pretty active since all of this started so the crazy hasn't krept in too bad. Where do I get one of those hats?
Glad to hear Nik. This one was from long beach surf shop in Tofino.
I'd like to diversify my employment experience...been stuck in a rut for years Jason. Thanks for the thoughts and I hope you're doing well. Just put new tires on the car so I'm able to visit if you're interested. Later dude :)
Yeah. Experience is always still good but diversity can be a huge difference. Good here. Safe and sound and working from home now. Yes let’s make a time when the world is a little less scary and safe.
Beautiful collection on your wall.
Homemadegameguru haha thank you for noticing.
Very well said! If it is vacation, there shouldn't be any element of stress to it.
Offline Therapy Hindi you bring up a great point. If there is pressure or stress even going in to a vacation something might be wrong. Thank you for the feedback 👍🏼
I agree that names like "dude" and "buddy" can be too informal with professional work colleagues you don't know very well. Though, for virtual strangers, I find first names too informal. For strangers, I'm more inclined to use words like "dude", "sir", or "my friend", depending on the context. As for the issue of shortening someone's name, it is completely natural to shorten longer names, both to make communication quicker and as a mark of affection, like a nickname. The practice is common and goes back a long way in history, and most people have no problem with it. Some people do, as you found, but they're the exception. They can correct us and no harm is done. Being called "sir" can sometimes annoy me, but only when it's being used in an unnatural or insincere manner. Saying "sir" at the end of every sentence is totally unnatural, creepy and weird, and can sound slimy or patronizing - the exact opposite effect of being polite.
Lee Bee thanks for the comments. I think it all comes down to assumptions. You may assume it’s ok and should be alright but there are always those potential one offs which means you run a risk. To avoid all risk you play it safe with no titles and you determine through further convo where the comfort or professional level sits. If it was a high stakes sales pitch you would be best off to run as little risk as possible as getting off on the wrong foot could destroy it all. I totally agree on your Sir comments. Could someone take offence because they aren’t that old. Etc etc.
Love it. So much information is lost whenever messages get passed down the channel
The last 2 years I've been working at least 60 or so hours a week. It's killing me.
Nik Galego so your harmony right now is off! Perhaps time to see if it can be adjusted to match your life better.
