I don't live out of my truck full time but I often fantasize about going on extended road trips lasting a month or two, while primarily relying on my truck camper. Smaller scale, Overnight camping trips and urban stealth camping has been a good way to not only save money on gas and food, but also to test out the rig for any necessary improvements. This is an in depth video of my current truck camping setup. There were some changes to the bed as well as some additions to the truck over all. I forgot to mention the name of the sleeping pads: "Hest" They are very expensive so keep an eye out for any being sold used, usually in R.E.I.

Made a last minute decision to make a drive to the good old NYC to meet up with a few pals, whom I have not recorded in this video. It was a nice casual drive while testing out my new sleeping rig. For the last night of the trip, I ditched my truck in favour of a nice air-conditioned room due to the heat-wave.

Drove down to NC from MI, while truck camping along the way. Beautiful state. Mostly hung out in trails in the outskirts of the cities Thanks for joining the ride. PS: In case anyone is concerned, I have a CO alarm at all times when using the Buddy Heater. Also, I never sleep with it running all night. I only use it briefly warm up the space so that I can change clothes in comfort.

I sub'd. I like your set up. Makes sense. Simple. A tip I saw. Your 2 pull out drawers. Take off the beds. Cut lids that you can open or use 2 pistons per and make 1 lid. That way dueing winter or rain, you dont have to exit the truck bed ;)

good video. can you share the location details for the first location. also. would i be able to make it back there with a teardrop camper?
Check for trails around Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area. Teardrop camper should fit the trails but some campsites have limited access. Have fun exploring!
Look for Green Road in Free Soil, Mich. There are 10 or 12 free campsites along the East side of the road, most of which would be perfect for your teardrop. There's also a National Forest pay campground in the area, if that's your sort of scene. I just go there to refill my water jugs. Further down the road from there is a day use area with access to the beach and some of the best sunsets you'll ever see. My wife and I stop there almost every year and we're headed up that way again this Sunday to stay for a couple days on our way up to the UP.
That is the Federal Park just north of Ludington and freesoil. First left past the Sauble River on 31. That was the beach and wood walk way...

Is the Mock 1 chairlift going slower than normal? I could have sworn it usually goes faster
It normally does but the operators said that the lift was struggling due to unusually cold weather.

I live in Center City Philly surrounded by brick, stone, concreate, iron, steel, and asphalt. gets scary here at night with predators in the streets but being out there in the wilderness at night seems worse. I've grown accustomed to streetlights.
camping in a truck is great because if one needs to haul ass in a quick it's not a problem. much better than tenting which I've done before.
