to answer your question on why people say Petrolatum is not natural is because its refinement and not naturally occurring. The mixture of hydrocarbons without process is not possible. The best example I can give that is commonly know is plutonium. Plutonium is the 94th element. A building block on the elementary table but is impossible to occur naturally however derives from natural elements. Technically petroleum jelly is a non occurrence of nature. People who argue against its usage in hair care products solely on this I cannot explain as it is a great sealant and lubricant if used properly.
