    Great vid! Here is a trick I learned from a great fly shop on the river (now gone) by a former Marine named Ray Babineau. He taught me to use an indicator above the Trico spinner and to make it visible he tied a Parachute Adams with a bright pink post. The pink post and size 16 Adams made it easy to see in the white foam on the river and to then track the Trico spinner. Also, he taught me to tie a bit of pink or yellow foam on the back/top of the Trico spinner to aid visibility. Both flies caught fish! Great river and great memories. Ray is a great guy!!! Thanks for your wonderful video!!!

      So yes is the short answer. Dorsal fin, tail fin, and in some cases, length is similar. Freshwater salmon tend to be more silvery while trout can be more colorful with golden tones.

    Bad muskrat!

    • @FlyFishingWaters
      @FlyFishingWaters Год назад

      So a story goes along with this that, looking back, the outcome is predictable. I wanted to film below the ice. There were a few large browns in that pool. The ice was new and it was November so it was clear and let in lots of ice. No snow. I chopped a hole in the ice. There were a couple other small holes on the opposite bank. I wasn't aware of the muskrat. Just before leaving to go home after setting the camera, I (luckily) thought I should tie off the camera with 0X tippet material to the bushes on shore. When I returned to fetch the camera, to my horror, it wasn't there. The pool was pretty deep and covered with ice. I remembered I had tied it off. I hauled it up and was eager for the footage. I wasn't able to capture images of the brown trout as they just cruised the bottom and were too far away for a good video. Instead I got footage of the culprit! I learn something every time I go out.
