We are a small team based in London, that develops a platform to help assess people with Parkinson’s disease better.
Motor assessment in Parkinson’s disease is plagued by issues of subjectivity and reproducibility - not to mention systematic biases such as rater drift. To counter this, we are developing a platform, called Kelvin, that can be used from any device (e.g. smartphones or tablets). Named after the famous physicist so beloved of precise measurement, the platform allows researchers to record, score, store and analyse video of Parkinson’s patients during motor assessment.
Once captured and organised, the platform uses a cutting-edge computer vision technique, called pose estimation, to objectively track the movement of the patients down to the fingertip level and deliver objective metrics of core symptoms, such as tremor and bradykinesia.

Dr. Joram van Rheede is a Senior Postdoctoral Neuroengineer in the Bioelectronics Lab at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and the MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit, University of Oxford. Can someone tell me if I have Parkinson’s? I just did this test, and my right hand was terrible I didn’t last very long and i was only able to do small movements with my right hand as compared to my left hand.. I’m 22 with essential tremor and my grandmother had Parkinson’s disease
Please see a neurologist for an accurate diagnosis
I saw two board-certified neurologists: One told me I didn’t have Parkinson’s. The other told me I definitely did. And I have a witness and the after-visit reports to prove this is true.
I don’t think you can find out if you have Parkinson’s in the comments section of a RUclips video.
@@FlaschDJ thank you for your honesty, I do appreciate that. I’m going to see a physio for my stooping back, and then hopefully see a doctor later this year to see if they can help with a formal diagnosis.

@@pwk22 Greetings Friend. I was diagnosed around 1997 when I was 47. My Mother had it as well, but it was never diagnosed. She was able to keep her handwriting and most of her ability to do small tasks up until shortly before her death. It annoyed her greatly. To be continued...
@@pwk22 In my case, I started noticing it in my teenage years when I attempted to take up Calligraphy. Over the years I have steadily lost ability. I type now with both thumbs, fingers anchoring both hands on the keyboard. I have also lost all ability to write and draw. It has not helped that I tripped and fell in October, breaking both wrists. I am mostly recovered from that, but the tremor marches on. To be continued...
@@pwk22 Drugs have not helped, and I think that the next step is a brain implant of some sort. I am studying my options. Please keep in mind that everyone is unique. My experience was not my Mother’s, and my experience isn’t yours. I am 71. I pray that you will stay at the level you are, and that medicines WILL help.

Thanks to Dr .
