@@JUKspn hey, yes it is very pricey as I order them directly from HBG. But you can just buy the map and use pieces from various Axis and Allies games. Thats how I started.

@@5stargeneral603 Yes, it is a very expensive system, but what stops me is the import taxes. I have several A&A games but I would be missing other units that Global War incorporates, as well as facilities... At the moment I am using a BBR40 map, by Lt. Dan, but I was very interested in playing the whole pre-war period. Thanks!

@@JUKspn The most important pieces you get from both Axis and Allies Global 40 Europe and Pacific. Pieces like the cavalry I took from an old Risk game I bought extremly cheap on a flea market. In the beginning I just bought different colour chips to distinguish the units from each other. For example I use the plain Infantry sculpt as Infantry. Infantry unit with white chip underneath was a Militia and a Infantry unit with a blue chip was a Marine etc.

It is a custom printed map right between the size of the small and the mid-size map. It’s a very thin cloth map and is the maximum size I can fit in our apartment 😅

In a regular game I would do this but as some players might be a little bit more concerned about that I will only use 100% perfect rolls.

Sorry I had to do it again 😅 but now you have more units in Honshu then last turn. Maybe I can’t take it back a third time.

It applies during shore bombardment but not neccessarily to the bombarding ships as long as Japan doesn´t toll a 1-3. With a low number they have target select which was not the case here.

Yes that's right. It is a bit confusing because we are playing not in the correct order the first couple turns. What happened was that I was using the save game from Commonwealth France Turn 2 to record my turn. On that turn Germany already recorded Turn 3 hence the confusion about Portugal. Quick recap. In Turn 2 Germany rolled a certain Random Event (www.historicalboardgaming.com/assets/images/HBG%20Games/Global%20Games/1936v4/Expansions/GW1936-x-17-Spanish%20Civil%20War%20v4.pdf) which allowed the Republicans to attack Portugal. They won the battle and took Portugal. Germany took it back on their turn 3 hence the Nationalist roundel there on my turn. As soon as the game will enter the mid game we will play in order. Right now we just want to save time.
