2015 dodge journey blend door actuators identification
That’s not 2015
Hells yeah
😮
thank you so much
very good at explaining. this helped me understand the blend door actuator and how many i need to replace. my journey is blowing hot on the pass but cold on the driver so the bottom actuator is the problem. im just going to replace all three for better reassurance.
Did same thing with the reverse bulbs. LHS not working. I’ll check the wiring after seeing this. 😁 I even used a multimeter and had no power to the socket. Thanks for posting
Thanks for this video, have a 2017 Journey and pass side was only blowing hot air. Backed off the screws on the lower actuator. hit it a few times and unplugged it. Put everything back tight and it started moving.
For the WIN!!!! tap tap saved me hours of cuss cuss!
I have cold air coming from drivers side, hot on passenger. So do i fix the actuator on drivers side or passenger?
Having the same problem I got a 12
Is the actuator the same part for front and back?
Hello which acuator is for the recirculation vent as it starts making noise once its turnee off
I have a 2016 dodge journey and my heat will not work in the back of my truck
True that true that
The one on the right is fresh air or cabin air.
Thanks I have same problem
Great video. You showed us what issues u were having, where and what the parts do, how to get it done and warnings how tough or easy it can be. I seen other vids just kept goin on and on. Great vid man and it will help me and many others. Great job.
Thank yo u it worked
Thank you good sir
Thank you Mike! I ended up tapping on the actuator motor, and it worked perfectly. Really appreciate you putting this up to help others out.
Thanks so much !!!
To get to the actuator that serves the drivers side temperature dial. You need to remove the cover under your steering wheel. Then, remove the metal plate. Access is pretty good from there to replace the blend door actuator.
Thanks for the info im sure I'll have to replace mine sooner or later
Thanks. I checked my actuators; they were fine. I then checked the cabin filter and it was clogged full of dirt, etc. Replaced it and problem solved. Thanks.
The actuator on the far right, is for your recycled air. Whether or not the air is being pulled from inside the car or from outside.
It actually worked. I had only cold air coming out the passenger side and I smacked the plug with a little force and the passenger side started blowing out hot air. I did this all in a Walmart parking lot after watching this video. Thank you for the video👌🏽
Thanks for the video. Big help
Omgoodness! Thank you so much! I had no blowing I my dash vents and was dying in this Texas coastal humid heat! Last resort ....went out and tapped it and wiggled the cords waaaalaaaa! Thank you so sooo much! Saved me 400 bucks!
Thanks. Hoping this solves my passenger side only getting heat problem
Thanks brother you helped me solve the case of the mysterious scorching hot passenger side/Blizzard driver side
Thank you my journey is doing the same thing!!!! Cold on the driver side and heat kn passenger this has been a huge help!
I did the same thing on my 2011 Journey and at first it didn't work, so I tried it again and still no. After I turned the vehicle off and came back and watched this video again. I then dawned on me that with all the electronics in that car some of the features like the vents don't reset to their rest positions until after 10 minutes or so. Sure enough when I walked back out there and took the glovebox apart again it had reset itself and it work just fine. Thank you so much for posting this video. Saved me hundreds $$$$
Thanks a lot, Mike. Just 2-3 taps on actuator and cold is back on the passengers side!
AS I was checking this out, I realized that the wire had come loose and fallen out of the actuator. Plugged it in and it worked! Thanks for the video. It saved me the money I would spent on new parts or a mechanic to find the same thing.
Thanks for the video saved me some hard earned cash, worked perfectly on my wife's 2015 journey 🍻
Just want to say thanks Mike, I had the same problem on my 2015 Journey, I took the glove box down and found the plug, I went to try and unplug it and the rod let down, I guess it was stuck in the open heat position, it now blows cold air on the passenger side as well as the drivers ... thanks again
I'm happy it helped
Fuc* yea man I tried it the first time didn’t work but I had to use a small pry bar to hit it hard enough and it moved thank bud
Thanks Mike! Fixed my Journey problem!
I was just curious cause I have a 09 journey and there’s one on the drivers side by my knee
Does yours have one on the drivers side as well?
Never looked but I dont think it would
If you have dual zone then you have one on the drivers side also
My 2009 journey makes a loud clicking noise that lasts for 4-5 seconds sometimes when I turn on ac to heat. Everything seems to run fine tho. What could be my issue? :(
Possibly one of the plastic gears stripping out that work the doors i would lower the glove box door and look around with a good flashlight for what looks like plastic hair (the stripped gear usually has a small bunch of thin plastic string that comes from the gear) if you see any I would replace the part asap
Mike Slovak mine is the one on the right. I put my hand on it when it was clicking and you feel the hard banging against it when you touch the actuator. Is the part number 604-029 for the one on the right side? eBay sells them for like 12 bucks
@@ws2594 all of the actuators should be the same part I still have the spare I bought so far I haven't had to replace it
So defrost was not taking the moisture out of the air..rest of the stuff worked. the actuator on the FAR RIGHT of the glove box controls the fresh air shut off i think. i started by tapping with a screwdriver. it now moves when i turn recirculate off and on, and when i turn the climate "off" the yellow dot on the white cylinder rotates clockwise/up. we'll see if it works tomorrow. either way i know what i need to remove and replace. THANKS MIKE and the others. I would still be looking around for this or worst tearing off the dash! lol
Any relation to 09 journey heat problem
I think they are set up the same from what I seen they don't change much until 2016
Thank you Because i have a 2009 dodge journey same problem heat on left cold on right
@@jimmiet1988 I just checked my 09 Journey and no lower control, so it must have an inside flap, not sure how it controls as there is no wire at all. Looks like the housing has the mounting holes for a blend door motor but no opening, must be a later change. Would like to get it fixed but looks like the dash would have to come out.
is this the same setup as a2012 dodge journey with dual climate control
I think it is I have dual on this one
Passenger side is semi cold/warm when I turn the heat full blast. Looked at the actuator, like you said, and the white lever is indeed going up and down every time I turn the temperature. What else could it be? Why isn't my passenger side getting as hot as my driver side?
Sounds like one of the vent doors isn't opening or closing all the way
@@mikeslovak4841 any idea how to fix that?
Sorry not sure on how to fix it without seeing it in person
This is Awesome i have been looking for this answer for over a year now. It was a cold winter last year. I tried hitting it with a screw driver and no change. Any other suggestions on 2011 Dodge journey dual climate?
What about a 2009 dodge journey mine did the opposite heat in the winter time blows hot on driver side cold on passenger side
@@jimmiet1988 did you figure it out?
@@stevenwall3604 no
Jimmie did you figure it out? Im having same problem
Dude! Thanks so much for this video. This happened to my 2015 today. Took it in, told me it would cost $400 to fix. Tapped it with a butter knife and BOOM, back on business! We didnt need to unplug either. Thanks so much. A lot of us owe you a beer :)
Happy to help
Have 2015 grand caravan, driver side cold air only no hot, passeneger works well, does it control both sides,
I'm not sure in one of those but they should be very similar drop the glove box and find the actuators to be sure
The problem I am having is NO heat on the passenger side
Should be the rear actuator closest to the middle console tap on it
Mike Slovak both vents he’s pointing out move. If I turn the temp to cold and hot that door moves
Thank You, thank you, thank you. Saved me a ton of headache and money we don't have. Tapped it gently twice, and started working in a couple seconds.
Glad it worked mine hasn't given me anymore issues since I tapped it that one time
Thank you very much. I just save 100$ bucks.
