Dare to Leap: The Courageous Tradition at Kiyomizu-dera
Kiyomizu-dera (Japanese: 清水寺, lit. 'Pure Water Monastery') is a Buddhist temple located in eastern Kyoto, Japan. The temple is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The temple was established in 778, during the late Nara period, by Enchin Shonin, who was a priest from Nara (the capital of Japan from 710 to 784). He is said to have received a vision telling him to construct the temple next to the Otowa spring.

Although there are many different kinds of maneki-neko raising either their right or ...

Tōdai-ji (東大寺, Todaiji temple, "Eastern Great Temple") is a Buddhist temple complex that was once one of the powerful Seven Great Temples, located in the city of Nara, Japan. Though it was originally founded in the year 738 CE, Tōdai-ji was not opened until the year 752 CE. Does the red-white rope of the bell have a name or special meaning? Is it different from a shimenawa? Thanks in advance 🙏🏻
Thank you for the question @colorcioso, The sole purpose of the rope is to ring the Suzu (bell) or Waniguchi (flat type of bell/gong). I will research it deeper but I do t believe there is other purpose or special name. Shaking the rope would ring the bell which will call the Kami.
In my early shorts I go through the naming of the main / important “ ones - Shimenawa or sacred rope ruclips.net/user/shortsh1PBg2UxO7g?feature=share
@@KeithSpiritedAway thank you very much! 🙏🏻 I have seen some anime characters that wear the same rope with a bell (mainly foxes - kitsune), so I’m curious about it ❤️

Is fudo myoo yokai or asura
Yokai
He's neither yokai nor asura. He is a Wisdom King (明王, myōō) an attendant of the Buddhas who works to protect the Buddha's teachings and protect Buddhists.

This is not politically correct but indeed a nice Daruma.
What do you mean ‘politically incorrect’? It’s DASAItama. Saitama is dasai. Dasai is Saitama.
The comments above do not reflect my point of view on Saitama
It reflects everyone’s views because it a fact
