Herrliches Video, wollte am Donnerstag die Strecke fahren, allerdings habe ich die Karte nicht genau angesehen, bin von Fügen gestartet, Fügenberg und dann Hochfügen, das auf 1500 Meter liegt. So kann ich im September einen zweiten Versuch starten. Bis dahin werde ich auch ein bißchen mehr Kilometer in den Beinen haben. Allerdings mache ich mir keinen Stress beim rauffahren, und schon gar nicht beim runterfahren. Ich will schließlich noch mehr solche Panoramen geniessen wie im Video von dir.

I'm planning this climb in the beginning of august. Never did a climb like this, but I'm cycling weekly. I'm from Belgium and did already some climbs here but those are small haha. What do you use to take videos?

The only downside is the durability and that you have to open it and do some cleaning they can be customise as well with titanium part, every single metal part of the pedal and clip can be replace with anodise titanium part… who doesn’t want matching color part?

I hope one year I can come in this period to do it.

What about the 'lateral play', did Wahoo really solved that issue...?

Yeah, potentially well dodgy. I'd be on that nice pink wide bus lane as it would be faster and easier to 'escape' a mugger. But I really hope they sort it! Thanks for your vids - I'm hoping to do CTCT next year, that's what brought me to your channel (and yeah, I know this isnt' part of the route!)

How long did it take u to pack?

I live just before the start of the climb to the pass. I have been up many times, takes me about 15 minutes. There is a camp site on top and a river gorge where you can take a dip in crystal clear fresh water. The views are spectacular. You just have to drive carefully. There is a fatal accident almost every year there because of bad driving.

I agree. Sort it or close it. Pity because it's actually such nice infrastructure.

Glad you survived to post the video. Probably not a great idea to cycle around with your camera/phone out in known danger zones. This isn't Europe. But I assume you've been in SA a while if you greet the locals with "Howzit", so I'm guessing you know the dangers.

Never been to SA, watched lots of your videos (you're always so positive)and know many SAfricans who've moved to Perth, sad to say it looks like this beautiful country is in terminal decline.

If only we had such good bike lanes in the UK, a country which prides itself on its new "Active Travel" policies.

Thanks for making this. I would give you a 1000 likes if I could, will also share it. Bloody madness indeed. There is one safe alternative, which is to use the bus to get through the dangerous part. A bit inconvenient, and difficult to find space during peak commuting hours, but much safer than the cycle lane or the motorway.

That was a very good video. It's so sad that, in a place where you have all those palm trees and good weather, you have to worry about your personal safety.

Yooo. You are absolutely right. My group used to ride in the bus lane next to the cycle route into town until recently, some mates have had near muggings going into town on the cycle lane from Tableview side. Now we just ride on the main highway, with all the traffic, it's just safer. The City really needs to do something about it, because the traffic into town from Tableview is also insane.

Watching this 9 Feb 2024. Cycle race is tomorrow and my school el shaddai is serving. I'm so excited also this year it has been confirmed that the 99er is the 2nd biggest race next to the Cape Argus so we've come a long way 🎉 Looking forward to supporting all the cyclists this year and serving them as well

Nice video and nice comments. If you like another challenge I suggest you to travel to the Garda Lake and do the Punta Veleno climb. It is a very good competitor for the hardest climb in the world.
