Simulation mode? Do you think you'd be able to explain further? To my knowledge, there is nothing in the game with that name, so I don't know what you mean. Do you just mean the "Continue" button? Or are you looking for something more like Football Manager's Holiday feature? If you are, I'm sorry to say there is no such feature in this game.

No, you cannot edit team or player names in a savefile unfortunately.

It's been a while since I recorded this video, or indeed touched the game, but from what I can remember, yellow names are probably players with yellow cards... Probably not 100% accurate info though...

To be honest, I usually just leave them as is. It doesn't really make a whole lot of difference in my experience. If you've got high potential players, they'll grow quickly whatever training settings you have.

Well, at this current moment in time, I've got COVID, so not doing very much (almost got to the end of the pandemic without getting it...) Aaand work is still in progress on the new series (it's going to be a big'un).

Sure you are! But in all seriousness, I am currently 11 episodes into recording a new OpenTTD series, and I'm aiming to get to 20 before I release any of said episodes.

There isn't really a best tactic so to speak. Having played this game so much, the easiest way to win is to simply take out a 20M loan at the start with 36 months to pay it back, hire all the best staff in every position, then scout for players with super high potential (like, 5 star potential) and sign them all. Then within a year or two you'll have world beaters that you can either sell, or win trophies with.

Not that I'm aware of. I have to edit both team names and player names if I'm after realism. Usually I just do the team names. The game does come with pseudo-realistic names though, with the odd letter swapped around for players.
