Buchla Sili Con Cellosax Model 298 By M.E.M.S. & Associates
A lengthy deep dive and demo of the Sili Con Cellosax module. I cover its functions, what it does within the specific patch it was designed for, and then I present an adaptation of the patch and perform with it using a guitar.

    • @SourceOfUncertainty
      @SourceOfUncertainty 8 месяцев назад

      Oh wow!!! Was the performance in Philadelphia? And what instrument was used when they played with it? I believe the story is David Kean owned the original system for a time, then commissioned Don Buchla to build a new version in 2002, and sometime later sold the original system to EMEAPP. The MEMS guys have not had a chance to see the original module/system, but they did have access to the 2002 version in order to build this recreation.

    This series has been awesome. I’ve been accumulating modules for my first 200e system and have been contemplating a MARF vs 250e for sequencing and CV control. After reading the Marf manual and watching this series, I think I’m gonna pull the trigger on a MARF this week. Would be really cool if Buchla came out with a 248e with preset management, even though there is some form of presets on the MARF.

    Hello May I ask where you purchased your powered case with deep enough boats to house the 296m ? Looking to purchase a 18u powered case for modules such as this one.

    • @SourceOfUncertainty
      @SourceOfUncertainty Год назад

      The upper boat had a small Toppobrillo passive bus board so the 296 could fit in the space. Another thing to note is it wouldn’t be able to fit on the end of the boat because of its angled ends. jasonrbutcher.com/cases.html makes deeper boats that can fit a 296m as well as thebeast.co.uk.
