Pocky & Rocky Is GREAT, Marvel Super Heroes In War Of The Gems Is TRASH | LET'S RANK SNES (Part 43)
We're back with more SNES games in part 43 of LET'S RANK (almost) EVERY SNES GAME - and I can't believe we played Capcom's SNES iteration of Marvel Super Heroes In War Of The Gems (1996) for a full 2 hours - but sometimes a game is so mind-boggling awful, it forcibly makes you submit to the astonishment. Thankfully, developer Natsume is here to save us all with the absolutely wonderful 1993 SNES release of Pocky & Rocky, the cult-hit featuring the titular Shinto shrine maiden and tanuki duo.

Damn Girl, You Live Like THIS?!? | THE SKILL CHECK - Elden Ring (Part 3)
I am the Amiga defender but I cannot defend the most part of the library, including the top rated games which were just popular like Robocop who just walks along. Fun enough I guess. But there is no license fee so anything goes in Amiga land. I do thank you for trying out Sengoku 3 on Neo-Geo when I caught your stream one time. But I bristled at your cursory examination. When I know for ai fact that, that game is a real hidden gem. Here's how I know. This video ruclips.net/video/w5knAiYMMz8/видео.html has chosen and identified it as a stand out title in the beat-em-up genre and maybe when you so blithely dismissed it first time, it did indeed have a hidden layer of depth in it's gameplay. I will say I have seen that game played by a streamer channel The Iron Lobby, who also dismissed it as inferior to Sengoku 2! So no shame. I tried a couple of Amiga games but couldn't get shadow of the Beast to run - so annoying. I did get Sensible Soccer and Soccer kid running. Alot of Amiga games are about or are Soccer games tbf. But I still haven't been moved to get into the Amiga because I think it's a bit of nostalgia from the Amiga community as the best games are really mouse games and arcade games completely sucked. But they take ages and I'm not short on strategy games to play which don't need the stupid WinUAE Amiga emulator. I'm struggling to find a recommendation, even though I think there's some good stuff in there. Maybe Syndicate or Theme Park? Good studios are Core and Bullfrog.
Haha, I mean it's just an opinion for Sengoku 3 friend, sorry. I'd say 10 out of 15 given how many more games we've gotta rank, it's pretty alright as a whole. Wouldn't be surprised it it's top 50%, at least. It's fine. Doesn't quite excite me, or feel as good as I think it should. Also that video you linked? Pretty sure that's just an AI generated script and voice over - I wouldn't personally say anything about that video or that channel counts for **anything ** worthwhile at all - but hey, that's also just my opinion. I'm also not overly concerned if someone else likes it or not really - why someone enjoys it is a far better question.
@@rjaylee it's probably just collated all the information and regurgitated it, which would be biased for sure because it might include confirmation bias articles that may have been written by folks who have been affected by negative opinions. A computer, if it can test and analyse a Neo Geo game must therefore be using some kind of methodology to arrive at it's conclusion. Even if it is ai (which I subtly hinted at if you read my comment carefully), which it obviously is, it is still a metric and that metric puts at the top of all games in the genre! I just thought it was such a glowing review. But then all the games in that video had insanely glowing reviews.
I would... disagree with all of that, haha. but hey, that's okay, I'm just a human.
you can't disagree because what I wrote is all simple fax. An opinion heard is difficult to ignore.
yes bro
The amount of games available is an embarrassment of riches. I went from learning about a new version of Castlevania arcade and owning it within a minute. I may never play it because I'm fixed on the Naxat Crush pinball series on SMD, SFAM and PCE. Also Centipede in Sega Arcade Collection on Genesis with 0.5 seconds of lag and slowdown for some reason. King of Fighters 13 feels like a distraction from mining ancient games. Rayman 2 is fun with my arcade stick. I can't find a game to play that needs twin sticks and I need to test out my Gulikit controller.
It's fantastic❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Ah, Mohg. Either the bane of one's existence or a magic user's wet dream.
Sometimes the Amiga gets the best version of a game. For instance Krusty's Super Fun house, I think is best on Amiga. Which was originally a game called Rat Trap.
Is rocksmith worth it to learn bass guitar?
I think it's pretty good! It can't teach you everything you need to know, but it can definitely help you get started, and it's a fun practice tool - anything that helps you want to play more is a good thing, in my opinion!
Wicked 🖤
Nice bro im learning the bass line to this
Cool
🔥🔥🔥
You could try Panic Bomber which is a Hudonsoft game on the Super Famicom. But, if you play that game, you must play another version of it. This is to demonstrate how any game on that game console is severely gimped by crippling input delay. Putting the kibosh on fun. Then I will give you some money.
I didn't realise Amiga games had bad controls. You must have played loads of them to say that with confidence.
one of the best warmup songs tbh
Agreed!
I don't think British game development was behind the curve in the 90's. They were more advanced in 3D graphics engines and overall design and art than any other country.
Yes, you're not wrong - my statements were fairly over-generalized from a technical perspective, and absolutely I did not forget that Argonaut Games did a lot of the dev for the Super FX chip and of course worked on Star Fox, which I still quite love. What I don't agree with you about however, is the overall design and art in a generalized perspective, which is of course subjective - and in "pockets" of genres and games that came out of British game development in that era, notably the side-scrolling action game. We definitely discussed this around games like James Pond 3, which absolutely is undertandable to have the opinion of high regard for when that history of games was your own, but it wasn't mine unfortunately, hence my differing opinion. As always, I don't hate it, it's just not my bag and not a game I love. Super Godzilla though? Even if it ranks higher than Bram Stoker's Dracula? I *hate* Super Godzilla, and I don't hate Dracula, haha.
@@rjaylee You don't know what you'[re talking about. British games span every genre. Platform is barely even e genre anyway. It's just a camera angle, profile perspective way to move a character. That like a blank sheet of paper or a game, Have you played Traps and Treasures? Arganaut phoned up a man who was a hardware engineer and they made a co-processor. Hardware is not neccessarily more complicated than software you know. This county is a workshop. Especially for electrical engineering and we just make games and shit for order. Like shitty co-pros. Never get any credit at all. Don't care. Just laugh at the attempts to emulate the most experienced and talented and knowledgeable game developers, worldwide. Why is Drivecluc so much better than Gran Turismo? Why? Jay? Why? They made it with like 20 devs in a year. You don't know jack.
@@rjaylee The developers of James Pond 3 are maybe 5 people. They were called Vectordean and only made about 5 games and they were all about fish. It's literally a joke company. Why don't you try to play Bubble and Squeak on the Mega Drive and witness a game more sophisticated than any other platform game from that era both in terms of design. art and display of technical acumen. Using the classic British carton art style. Which was at that point at least, as, if not more sophisticated than Japanese anime style, which they stole from Belgium.
Hi R Jay Lee. I'm not really interested in this game but I was wondering how do I contribute? Thanks. Jack. I like the SNES streams. There is an unreleased game called Socks the Cat but it's unreleased so you don't have to play it.
Heya friend! I always take game suggestions, so you're more than welcome to recommend them in the comments as you have in the past (I still remember you mentioning Sensible Soccer, it's on a list amongst other sports games for a sports episode, and Flashback currently groups with Another World/Out of This World). I group them together in a list and play them when it makes thematic sense to do so. If you're looking to suggest a game, you can do it any time in these comments of course - if there's something you want me to play right away the next time I play SNES games on stream, you can always visit my tips/donotions page over here and I'll play a suggestion for a $20 tip! streamelements.com/rjaylee/tip Or alternatively, I'll gladly accept any amount just as graciously, with or without a recommendation. Thank you for your viewership! I'm not monetized on RUclips because my audience isn't very large over here, of course. But as always, we'll gladly have you over on www.twitch.tv/rjaylee/ along with the rest of the folks there. Thanks again!
@@rjaylee I kind of had to quit using Twitch as a much as I'd like to watch it, it stops the internet working. First no other websites load, then the internet might just go out. It's Twitch. It's cursed. Until the curse is lifted, Twitch fucks ,my internet. Sensible Soccer is not recommended without a serious training regime before-hand. It's like playing pinball in fast motion. You will just lose over and over again and declare it shit like everyone else.
brilliant
What a weird wrird video
that super aggressive play from sekiro is translating pretty well it seems on the duelie pistols 🤑
I almost don't know how to play any other way, haha! I did a bit of lab work and nothing else was quite working the way I wanted, but I'm still open to experimenting.
Is James Pond the precursor to Austin Powers? It might be... I just wanted to inform you of a great game I found on the PC Engine which I think is the precursor to Harvest Moon. Also, someone said it was an early example of an rts game. It's called Reishensu / Daichikun Crisis: Do Natural / Daichikun Crisis: Do Natural (1989) by Salio. You play a family of cows that must defeat enemies and clear away volcanic ash to reforest islands. It's all in Japanese and I want to write a translation for it because this unique game is totally hidden behind the language barrier, even though it's really quite simple. Harvest Moon even took musical cues from the soundtrack.
That's cool! Admittedly I knew *very* little about the PC Engine, it's always been another level of obscurity to me that I just never got exposed to growing up.
The best soccer game _I've_ ever played is Pixel Cup 16 from Batocera. A very Brazilian company and game. They did well from that game. But I had to learn mobile touch screen controls. A skill I've still only used on that game. Edit: I tell a lie. I also played Heroiki and Sonic 2 on mobile, the later was not a good fit for the control scheme.
thanks for checking out the game and the speedrun! The game isn't very well known sadly, due to poor sales and short-lived TV Show which I think is cool. I recently made a TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun) using 2 Players which finishes the game in 15:47.19. If you ever feel like you would want to check it out sometime feel free.
Absolutely! Shoutouts to you and your RUclips channel, and thanks for your modship of the game's page on Speedrun.com as well! Stone Protectors became a bit of an inside joke for my community at first, but it slowly turned into a "but hey this is a pretty quirky, funny, and kinda alright thing" haha. I did see you had a 2-Player run as well, I"ll check it out - thanks again!
You can't say that Blackthorne is bad and that it is the same goodness as Flashback. You're crazy.
Haha did I say Blackthorne was bad? I think I basically came out in the end as "it's okay, but not as good as good as.... etc. etc."
@@rjaylee well Flashback on anything but the snez is a class act. Not Blackthorne.
Admittedly I've never tried Flashback on the SNES before, as much as I've seen it in gaming magazines in my youth - but who knows, maybe it's on a rundown sheet somewhere for another episode at some point in the future... 😎
@@rjaylee If ever a game was underappreciated. The snes has slowdown of course, less resolution and lower quality sound. It never got a sequel, which is criminal!
18:11 Very good ! chun li playthough request. continue OK.
Yes, there is a Sensible Soccer league that is ongoing from a website in Germany. It's mostly Europeans but some Yanks are actually playing in that league. Maybe the odd Canadian... You guessed it I am from the UK and I romanticise the Amiga. But the Amiga is not the best for action games, thats why you have to make the men 8 pixels tall to get maximum performance from the Amiga. Otherwise it's very classy for mouse based games. 48:30 I should mention. I recorded the moment for posterity as I'm figuring out how to use recording in Windows, it's a bit weird but low overhead. ruclips.net/video/fLy9d86ZZVw/видео.html
I went to sleep during the short bastard stream, and I can't believe you then went for an hour and a half extra playing shadowrun, and it looks like you didn't even hack into the matrix.
I know I could have tried hacking Glutman's computer, but doing it without grinding to upgrade my Computer skill would've taken way too long, I was already going so late! 🤣
AN HOUR OF SIM CITY AND IT'S ONLY IN THAT NUMBER?
It's still a good ranking! 46 out of 116 is incredibly solid company around Parodius, Stunt Race FX, Wild Guns, and True Lies!
Here's the thing about Tim Follin's into to Spiderman: Arcade's revenge. He plagiarises Led Zeppelin then just goes back to generic stuff and the chords he always uses.
Did you know that Cannon Fodder is one of the best games ever made? The snes game does not control responsively though and it falls apart, also due to the resolution and sound. But the Amiga version is the shit. This also applies to Sensible Soccer. As for Shadowrun. I think it's really hurt by the music. The combat could be fixed simply by positioning the aimer at an enemy, with left and right to change target - so easy. But it's a pretty shallow and linear adventure with seriously obtuse progression. The Genesis Shadowrun game, I am playing right now. I really think it's a masterpiece. It kind of needs better graphics. It's pretty much a job simulator, but very engrossing. Cool Spot, likewise is a fun and snappy shooting game, on the Mega Drive. SNES? Not responsive enough.
Cannon Fodder is great! I ranked it in a previous episode: ruclips.net/video/MgvkjSoMVjc/видео.html But you're right, I did struggle with the controls and a lack of responsiveness. And yes, I do wish I could have ranked Shadowrun higher - thankfully my enjoyment and interest in it as a whole (on top of its flaws) is greater in my heart than objectively compared to other games. Same goes for Cannon Fodder, really.
@@rjaylee yes well, CF and SS are somewhat brutal games of maximal minimalism and an expression of pure gameplay in replacement of graphical effects, although CF has sublime pixel art. The intense 100% gameplay philosophy is for expert players only. Shadowrun snes? I don't get it. You move a cursor? No. Shadowrun Genesis is a proper game. You have alot of options in combat.
big ladies!
O.M.G. wtf did I miss out on?!?!?!?! Sailor Moon SuperS Zenin Sanka!!!! 😱😱😱😍😍😍
sick !! would this be the real riffs of the song? i think so
It's the bass track, yes! The guitar track is slightly different with some more power chords and such, but similar.
@@rjaylee awesome, thx sm !! keep going
The version of Stunt Race FX you played was a romhack overclocked version. It's running the game faster. but that also affects the steering and breaking in unexpected ways.
I wondered why it felt so weird! Even knowing that I hadn't played this game in a *really long time*, I was like, why does this feel so weird? Have people just been overstating the slowdown, and my nostalgia is covering it up? Thanks for the heads up on this, I'll probably look to replay it again with the right version in the near future (maybe even on Monday's livestream)!
@@rjaylee the original isn't _that_ bad, just a bit of a delayed input. But it's tuned to be playable at least.
what an accurate statement.

That’s hot
That bass song has to played with finesse to really sound good
Absolutely! The tabulature/charting is pretty good generally speaking, mostly for highlighting note accents to get that finesse right (at least within the limitations of tabs/Rocksmith charts), but whether or not I nailed it, well that another story, haha. Totally agree though!
I will keep working on it😂
did they remove this song from purchase?
Yes and no... but mostly yes - unfortunately as Rocksmith 2014 was de-listed from sale on all available digital platforms by Ubisoft in October of this year, that also meant all the DLC went with it too. It remains available to play, but nothing can be bought for it anymore, sadly. This song in particular is CDLC, but to play CDLC since that has happened - well, that's quite a bit more complicated now, sadly too.
Hey this is my chart~! :D Hope you liked it.
Thank you so much for making this. For a while it felt like no one was gonna make anything bass related for Alan Wake, but here we are!!!
Very cool chart, thanks for making it
