Mind if i forward it to my tutor? Also, spend time at a parrot sanctuary and have a bng macaw (she's a sweet heart) .. But spring time is care and release of chicks normally.. So your lesson is in my mind AMAZING.. thank you ❤

    Interesting as usual. Also for toy safe glue: I have used plain old superglue and superglue gel. It does have to cure for 24 hours well away from birds and be well ventilated. But once it is fully used it’s pretty innocuous. Nail glue is basically a modified form of super glue. A highly purified form of superglue is what is used as surgical glue. It is also used by those of us who keep live coral reef tanks to affix live corals to rocks. Corals might be the only things more sensitive than birds. So if I have to use a spot of glue on something that will be around my bird I feel pretty good about superglue. I just have to make sure I do the gluing and 24 hour curing away from him. Also make sure you have acetone available when working with superglue. The minute you don’t have it is when you’ll manage to glue your fingers together. Again, keep the acetone well away from the birds.

    Excellent webinar! Thank you Dr Lamb! Having worked as a vet tech (not with exotics), managed a horse barn with other livestock present, and having kept live reef tanks for years I’m always very cognizant of biosecurity, zoonotic potential, and just how much potentially pathogenic stuff exists in the environment. An ounce of prevention is definitely worth a pound of cure! I do feed and water wild birds but I’m always paranoid about washing my hands throughly and making sure I keep the dirty birdbath water and feeder/bath away from the rest of me and my clothing. I’d love to see a webinar on pet chickens and ducks/geese and what we should be mindful of if you have both those and parrots. I would expect free range chickens/ducks to be very high risk for exposure to wild bird pathogens and perhaps through them your parrots? Are there other risks to parrots from pet chickens/ducks? Or from the parrots to the chickens/ducks?

    My quaker parrot loves nutriberries. When i gave him pellets he was throwing them out of his bowl trying to look for seeds but with nutriberries its like he is discovering all flavors and eats everything off of it. Im wondering could i just switch my birds main course to nutriberries alone or do i need to add something.

    • @lafebercompany-official3250
      @lafebercompany-official3250 5 месяцев назад

      Yes! Nutri-Berries are formulated the same as a pellet, but they are not ground up. The seeds are fresh, human grade with the hulls removed. Each ingredient is coated with a nutritionally balanced binder, so every bite provides the nutrition he needs, and the added plus is the natural foraging exercise he is getting when he eats!

    Their favorite ‘Scratch’ spot is the Cheek/Ear area. Thereafter the crown and Nape, though it may vary greatly from bird to bird. But the LEAST favorite spot, a spot that guarantees a bite , would be the tail, especially from below. Not that you should be touching the bottom ⅓ of the bird to begin with.
