aww, what a cute train
Lovely engine! What safety valves do you have on your Jessie ?
That's brilliant, it sounds great too!
Seems like a good runner! Was it like this out of the box?
That is really cool. Looks like a lot of fun.
Beautiful locomotive and railway! Thanks, Phil!
Lovely engine
hi mate i do minature railway to only i sadly dont own a loco of my own and i would like to come down to little hay one day are you around offten
Im 17 is there a way i can join and become a member still
Is there such a thing as an easy to drive loco for a beginner?
Just how the hell can this pull someone it just mystifies me
Wow! I realise I'm a bit late, but thought I would still say, ' That's about the fastest I've seen a 5"" model engine travel". Great little video. Cheers.
Well, at least it’s not just your Britannia which constantly blows off! 😊
the video quality is superb..excellent
3:11 Pannier tank versus lawnmower!
The green locomotive you were driving in the start looks like duck if you take the tender of
Duck’s based off a similar engine, the GWR 5700 pannier tank - this one’s an 8700 pannier tank, and the “tender” is really just so someone can ride the thing at all haha
Lovely little engine and looks quick too
What a little beauty she is ,I would be ver y proud if I was you. Regards Stuart Bell
Awesome little engine, loved the sounds and sights. Well done.

Olton Hall is one of my favorite steam locomotives, so this is really amazing.
Fair play that looks stunning
Bro literally in creative mode💀
This still looks really great, Phil! It's been a while, I know. But I finally got my Ajax to make some initial runs back and forth at my home track a couple days ago. Sent you an email. Blessings, and thanks for all your help. I don't know if mine will look this grand, but I'm excited about finally getting it to run under coal fired steam. Stan
great footages...cool vdo..awesome work..greetings from iNDIA!!!
How did you get the 4 inch Burrell traction engine donated and how did it work as I'm interested as I have a RUclips channel and I love miniature traction engines myself
Awesome, Phil!
Not sure why Ken Swan drew the firehole so low
Nice looking loco
This is a very smart looking engine and runs very well. I saw this railway in another video but do not know where the railway is, could you please let me know, and if I am in the vicinity holidaying, I would hope to check the railway out. Thanks.
Lovely Locomotive, it steams very freely, great video, thanks for sharing it. I saw an "Iron Duke" at 'Waltham Windmill' some time ago and wonder if this is the same Locomotive. It is a very impressive engine. Thanks.
Looks and sounds fantastic.
how can i get a locomotive like that in the video?
I built 2 of these, the 040 which O converted to 042 and the 060 Achilles. Several modifications to both including ditching the axle pumps for two injectors and a hand pump, hydrostatic lubrication, vacuum fitted for train brakes. I fitted the 060 with steel wheel rims which makes a big difference with haulage. They are super passenger haulers and will go all afternoon.
Lovely little engine!
I don't have the opportunity to travel by such trains but it was fun to watch the video. This is one of the wonders of the internet. Thanks for uploading.
Love train and layout Thanks for posting
gotta clean your camera lens
Hogwarts express coming through!
Great video! She runs well! What coal is being used in the video?
Nice pannier
What an awesome railway! Thanks, Phil!
Now that's the dream. Such an incredible train
Nice one Phil got it just right
Could you tell me please what water container you use on the driving trolley. I could use one like that! Thanks Adrian
Thanks for a great video! I didn't know 3.5 gauge engines had enough power and traction to allow you to ride with them.
Thanks for posting. This was great fun to watch. I'm amazed how long you could go between adding more coal. I also am curious....I saw the sight glass...is there an axle pump that keeps up with the boiler use? I did not see you adding water but might have missed it. Last question...I noticed the engine bouncing from the power strokes. Do you have lighter springs/suspension to help with tracking? Is it common to use softer suspension on small engines like this?
Thanks for your comment. This loco has an injector and an axle pump. I mostly use the injector to keep topping up the boiler little and often. It tends to bounce as it is 0-4-0 so tends to rock. She does have light springs to make sure the wheels can keep in good contact with the rail head to ensure she gets maximum traction from her 4 wheels. Thanks
Little Hay!? As in just outside Sutton Coldfield? Just down the road from me, been there a few times 😮
Beautiful loco! Runs great.
No way, someone actually built it!
