Welcome to Tangled Flock Farm! Our little homestead is located in Nova Scotia. We are so happy that you stopped by to join us! Please like and subscribe to our videos to help us continue to grow!
Our videos will focus on the development of our homestead and rare and exotic animals. Emu, Peacocks, Cashmere goats, and maybe even a $10,000 sheep will enter the scene. Anything can happen, and we want to share the journey with as many people as possible!

They do not have the same number of chromosomes. A friend of mine who was previously a professor at the University of California studied this specifically, and he said that most die at 60 days gestation. Only two were conceived through a project by one of his graduate students, in which they combined hybrid embryonic cells with sheep embryonic cells so that the outer layer of placenta was of sheep origin. The resulting offspring were indeed chimeras. No ‘geep’ in popular press turned out to be hybrids, but often crosses of two different sheep breeds or goat breeds.
That was where my research led me as well. The chromosomes make it practically impossible, yet there are a lot of stories about it, keeping the rumor alive that they are more common than they are.
Make him touch it wearing rubber boots on video for proper comparison.
I feel like the new charger would blow me right out of those rubber boots!

Dasa BEES! I set out plates of full sugar soda for them and they absolutely SWARM me! If any fall in to the plates, I save them and they are so gentle that they never sting me! They are so kind!
They are very kind for sure, I think they know what a real threat is.
@@TangledFlockFarm I've heard that bees are only defensive when around their hives, when out foraging they definitely seem quite mild mannered. I can freely walk into the swarm to rescue the occasional bee that falls in the soda dish I put out for them.
@@JimiSparx-yw3gb That would certainly make sense. They might not feel any need to sting when away from home.

I have a 23 lariat hybrid and haven't had that problem. Let's hope I don't.
And lots of people never have the problem, but the ones who do seem to have a hard time getting away from it.

sounds like you guys are on the verge of quitting the lifestyle... why'd you buy a sled and not something with wheals? couldn't you but the feed in larger amounts to not have to go buy it every weekend...... sounds to me like its just poor planning
We use a sled due to a mud situation, with heavy rain some parts of the terrain become impassable , we have started building a road through the area, but its slow going and expensive. As for the feed every weekend, I have a small pickup truck, and the feed we get weekly pretty much fills the pickup portion, we couldn't buy and transports more in bulk, but I pass buy the feed store after work, so I don't go out of my way to go there.

To avoid the battery problem, get an ecoboost. I have a 23 Lariat ecoboost AWD Maverick and I haven’t had any problems after 17 months.
But I don't think the ecoboost is the hybrid version, which is what I wanted...
@@TangledFlockFarm Agreed. I have owned a Hybrid XL, XLT ecoboost FWD, and a Lariat ecoboost AWD. The ecoboost AWD is by far my favorite. If I lived on the coast with high gas prices and stop and go traffic, then I would stick with the hybrid. I live in the Midwest where gas is cheap and there isn’t a lot of traffic.
@@joyofnft8084 Gas is pretty expensive here, that was the driving factor for sure, but I think I'd like to try out the ecoboost AWD for sure!

Going through the same exact thing. Two battery replacements by the dealer didn't solve it. The dealer does not know why it's happening or how to fix it. I feel the same frustration.
Mine said that they have some type of wire kit that "Might" fix the issue, but we should be past "might" at this point. I want a solution.

Yes, you are right. So we have Cujo, who is our older "Momma", and we wanted to have her train one of her pups to join her. We probably don't need two for our space, but we figured she'd be a good teacher for a pup and we were right. She takes her pup along the perimeter when she inspects and teaches him not to chase, its a real joy to watch :)
@@TangledFlockFarm Perfect! We've got close to 400 acres with 3 Blue Ticks hooked up to GPS collars. They mostly just wander around, are used for hunting and like to sleep on the couch at night..LOL. We do a ton of running around on ATV's checking fences, chickens, a few head of cattle(so far..LOL) so a few great guarding dogs might just be a time saver that we need. I LOVE to crochet, hence the research on cashmere and back 100 yrs ago neighbors of mine bred Great Pyrenees for their fur. I remember her sitting on her front step brushing them for days and when she was finally finished they'd happily guard my kids and the neighbors kids while they played outside. When she wasn't brushing, she had her spinning wheel set up..lol. Somehow though, the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee might not be practical for their pretty coats..LOL. It seems like your fur babies have a very similar coat as a Golden Retriever which like you say is MUCH easier to take care of..lol. Thank you so much for your input!
@@kimasp7482 Yes, the Maremma has a much easier coat to take care of than a great Pyrenees for sure. On a property that size though you can't go wrong with either, and I might even sway over to the Great Pyrenees as they are known wanderers of larger spaces, they might be better suited for such a large area. Maremmas are great, no doubt and will provide protection, but on a space that big is almost what the Great Pyrenees was bred for :)
