A New Pro-Tector order is born :-)

This little video is about the process that I go through every time I go to Nepal to oversee a Pro-Tector order - From Sourcing suitable fabric, transporting (in an echo friendly manner) it to the Tailor-Master’s, the cutting, the embroiders (at the embroidery factory), the trimming by myself and Nepali friends, then all the stages that the Tailor-Master’s go through to construct the Rucksack P...

Short Video about The New Improved Jumbo Rucksack Pro-Tector as requested by members of The Paragliding community, but also useful to help ensure that large heavy loads reach their destinations safe, dry and in one piece, especially when checked in as hold luggage when flying.

“Young” Phil Windsor discovered two poems in the church at Nether Wasdale written by the late Reverend Hodgeson about the local lads going off to The Great War (WW1) - Phil, whose family came from Nether Wasdale, has set these to music and this little video is of a brief explanation of how all this came to being as well as renditions of the poems set to music. Filmed at Nether Wasdale School on...

This is a video of Kathmandu like you have never seen it before - Traffic Free!! Even 24 years ago when I first drove into Kathmandu (I had driven an old Landrover there all the way from Cumbria UK) it was an incredibly congested and polluted city and over the last ¼ of a century, things have only got a Lot worse So - Seeing Kathmandu like this is Unique, Pedestrians and Rickshaws once more rul...

Will a coach trekkar 52 bag fit?
Beautiful views & music,...thanks for sharing.
if only I could play a banja I would come over
Excellent, straightforward demonstration. I will order one. Thankyou. W.
I went there in February of 2011 and how much I can relate to your description. I am from Kathmandu, Nepal but went Bung to help student from France, Simon, for his Master's dissertation. We stayed there for 35 days and descended from Lukla and had to walk 5 days to reach there. I am now in Australia doing MBA and only yesterday in the class lecture I was relating to case study of porter in class to that scenario of Bung. LOL. Love your pictures and it took me all the way back to '11. Thanks.
don't remember that I showed any permits at this trek. did you do any permits or tims?
!!!!!GAINST HIM!!!!!.
nice video
Excellent work Rob, thank you. Keep it up!
Aubrey went missing during the time you were up there. did you ever see this girl? www.aubreysacco.com/MakeLove2Life/home.html this page is about Aubrey Sacco who vanished in the Langtang in 2010 or did you encounter anyone that made you feel uncomfortable?
I Remember all about this tragic disappearance and at the time was in touch with Aubrey’s family trying to do what I could to help - Which was very little really, but as I was trekking Langtang at the same time she went missing, I tried to do what I could - I also wrote up my own warnings on my Nepal Travel blog to hopefully cut down on the chances of similar things happening to others - Alas that didn’t work either !! members.virtualtourist.com/m/p/m/20c9f4/
at 1:41 into this video i see 2 sherpas...looks like the one on the right is holding a black camera. what can you make from this pic? i know it was a long time. any help is appreciated
I checked back on the original image and although I aren’t sure what the chap in the rear is holding, if it is a camera, it would have belonged to my friends who were trekking with me - The two chaps in the photo are our porter/guides which were hired out from the TAAN registered agent that I have used for over 20 years and 10 trips to Nepal, There names are Rasham andKansha and I trustthem implicitly
thank you for your feedback. your help is appreciated. take care.

The best route to the summit of Great Gable is to take either Needle Ridge or Sphinx Ridge from the Climbers Traverse followed by Pinnacle Ridge on Westmorland Crag.
That might well be your opinion Charlie - But as a lad born in Wasdale, I prefer the route that I have posted in the video as the one you suggest is much more of a scramble and would be beyond the capabilities of many fell walkers Best Regards Rob
Yes the route I mentioned is definitely a proper mountaineering outing, well beyond the realms of fell walking. It is also a far more interesting and satisfying way to ascend Great Gable. I started of as a fell walker then progressed to mountaineering, scrambling and climbing. When I made that progression I found ascending the fells to be far more enjoyable and rewarding. I also found it gave me far more appreciation for the natural wonder of the Lakeland fells. If you’re just plodding up walkers paths all the time you’re not getting the most out of those magnificent fells in fact you’re barely scratching the surface of what they’ve got to offer.
We did that Trek in December 1984. We flew into Jomson, treked to Muktanath, and back down the Kali Gandaki River to Pokhara. It was magnificent. It's much changed with the road and modern buildings. And electrical or phone wires, on poles! Wow. The porters at the time were carrying 300 pound loads of large PV piping for a water project. It's true. A trip of a lifetime!
Firstly,kick-ass music soundtrack, man!!!!!!!Secondly,I will be walking the wall from wallsend to bowness/solway in 3 weeks, and I am exited and terrified, haha! My biggest fear is actually getting lost,as I will be walking solo. I don't even have a cellphone, which I'm told is crucial, but I'm not convinced, blahh.Any advice from an expert such as yourself would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks for sharing the series of remarkable photos!
please don't mind but if u do video would be best :)
Everest panorama Trekking, although relatively easy compared to some of other treks, takes you up high along trails to Tengboche Monastery (3875m). This is a short trek but very scenic trek offers really superb view of the world’s highest peaks, including Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam and other many snowy peaks. Who have short time in Nepal who look mt Everest closed eyes this people have good to Everest panaromic tre nepalguideinfo.com/everest-panoramic-trek/ nepalguideinfo.com www.nepalguideinfo.com Email-:sanjib-adhikari@hotmail.com
Hey that's so beautiful! This is John O's son! Tell him hi for me!
Sorry to hear about this and hope that your friend lived to tell the tale and is now OK !!
i went there as a porter hoping i could gain something and i found everything was worth it. i got trek ghost inside me now which roars time to time telling to feel again.
One of the loveliest days of the trek. The bamboo bridges must have been rebuilt dozens of times since I trekked here, but apart from the tea houses (don't remember any) the valley seems as beautiful as ever.
I did this trek in October, 1985. It's wonderful to revisit these places-- see the incremental development, especially the new bridges. A beautiful part of the world.
You did well to get a blue sky, I did not have the of luck with the weather in 2012, but I reached the summit in October and was rewarded with superb views of Wastwater and the Scafells:
I really can’t see you having a problem - Road improvements were underway in March of this year with new bridges under construction, so even though the road wasn’t so bad by Nepal standards then, It will probably be a lot betetr now, Maybe even good enough to take a Landcruiser all the way from Kathmandu and not have to transfer into a Landrover at Hille like we did. If you want details of the agent I used to make the arrangements then drop me another message - Good Luck - Rob
Well, that's useful! We're planning on going to Tumlingtar/Khandbari soon and have thought of driving, but I didn't know anything about the road from Hile. Looks OK (by Nepal standards), although maybe you were busy clutching the seat and not filming part of time :-) Got any thoughts to share on that? (Btw we live in Nepal, so my standard of "OK road" is "dirt rutted awful thing" where a "not OK road" is "dirt rutted awful thing so narrow and scree-ish and gravelly I'd rather walk.") Thoughts?
@AryaSravaka Wasdale is my own favourite valley, Deepest Lake, Highest Mountain, Smallest church and Biggest liar in England - Also it hasn’t been spoilt by over commercialism. Happy Travels Rob
Mukti nath is the one of the famous temple with wonderfull paradise for hindu & budist combainly praying the god at same place. iam extremely proud withthe nature where are enjoying the peoples of world. which paradise lies in Mustang Nepal of Mount everes country.
I was there. Cold up there this year. See you next year.
wonderful - makes me want toget the hiking boots out!

I stayed in that B+B (lingmell farm) as seen in first scene. Thoroughly recommmended for most of the high mountains! We walked Scafells, corridor route, then Great Gable, Kirk Fell. Basically, stay at that B+B for anything - he's really nice there as well!
Beautiful place! I love the music! Who is that?
