I'd take my 915 Coupe over a G50 Targa any day of the week. The Targa and cab are great for leisurely cruises but overall the coupe is more involving. Shame that the Bedford Post Inn closed. Went there for brunch all the time.

Yup. That's a 911 SC. There is a better throat at higher RPM in gear. Sounds good cruising at aroundf 3500. Handles better as well. If in a higher gear you have to rely on the brakes. I hardly use them. The 5 speed shift and a hydraulic clutch do a good job. The car does 177 according to specs but it better have good oil cooilng. Watch that oil gauge.

Actually, with the exception of the front clip and rear sheet metal, that body lasted through the 1965 model year. The frame was introduced for the 1957 model year.

What? No power vent windows? My '60 Fleetwood had them. No cruise control? No Guide-a-Matic headlight dimmer (with high beam, low beam and middle beam)? My Fleetwood had all of those. No 3-way day, night, twilight rear view mirror? Ditto. One of the nicest cars I ever had for a cruise from New York to Montreal, but that cruise might take 4 tanks of gas. But, at 29 cents a gallon, who cared?

To find your speed in MPH, take the speed in KMS then divide by 1.6. Driving on the parkway, your adjusting of the steering wheel is just as the movies predicted, at first thinking it is exaggerated now is proof steering was nowhere near as precise as today.

The fins hadn't died out, yet, with this model year. It was dangerous walking the narrower, twisty streets of Santa Fe during the big fin years, especially on a sidewalk to the outside of someone making a left turn.
