Back then the words "rap" & "rapper" did not mean what they mean today! When someone said "rap" they meant "talk" or "converse", and it had nothing to do with rhyming words, just talking to someone, mainly of the opposite sex. It was a very common thing to hear a brother say, "Hey mama, let me rap with you for a minute." Yes, I'm an OG "Boomer", and proud of it, too! That's not bad, but instead of singing for McDonald's, I came up with lyrics referencing as much as 18 different fast food chains including McD's!
