So with the one with the judge not moving, I actually relate to that… One thing our band director enforces is that if the judge is in our way we can absolutely hit them. We shouldn’t have to modify ourselves since they don’t know where we move. Second, I actually enforce to the guard (I’m one of the captains) that if someone is too close to you while we’re in the middle of something, keep doing your normal thing! If they get hit, they’ll learn not to be so close. So don’t be afraid if someone is where they shouldn’t be, people are too close, or those judges aren’t paying attention to you. Whacking them feels SO good ❤️

I have been doing guard sense I was in 6 grade I'm going into 8 grade and am one of The really good people on our team (middle school and high school)the only thing that I can say is make sure that you PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE AND PRACTICE MORE that is the only way you get better just keep going it will get hard but when you're done performing and you know all your hard work just paid off it is the best feeling in the world! So just keep going ❤
