    The key to menopause weight loss wait for it😂😂 is stop eating so much

    • @TheSweatyPillow
      @TheSweatyPillow 12 дней назад

      Caloric surplus is often a part of it, but saying 'stop eating so much' isn't a nuanced approach. During menopause, hormone levels (specifically progesterone, estrogen and testosterone) deviate from their pre-menopausal levels, increasing the accumulation of visceral fat. While a calories deficit is important for weightloss, during menopause, hormonal balance and increasing muscle mass are imperative to maintaining a healthy weight

    • @TheSweatyPillow
      @TheSweatyPillow 2 месяца назад

      In this case, we're talking about a vast market of underserved women who do not have access to the tools and resources they need to successfully navigate from perimenopause through post-menopause. In addition to that, this number includes the lost revenue from women who quit their jobs or reduce hours and productivity because they are suffering during menopause, because they don't have the tools and resources. So while business target 'every' demographic to make money, they have missed out on a massively underserved market with high rates of disposable income.

    What difference does food nutrients and supplements nutrients have? How does that work?

    • @TheSweatyPillow
      @TheSweatyPillow 2 месяца назад

      Not med advice but this is from my research - Ultimately, you should try to get as many vitamins and minerals from your food as possible. Unfortunately, most diets are missing a lot of key essential nutrients, especially the ones our bodies can't produce themselves. For example, Vitamin D is not produced in the body and most people, especially those living in northern climates like Canada, do not get enough Vitamin D and should supplement. Please consult your GP before taking any supplements. There is a such a thing as too much, and they can recommend reputable ones as the supplement industry is highly unregulated.

    • @Banaanaphone

      @@TheSweatyPillow i ment why are they different. How are the food nutrients and supplements different *literally* I don't understand Are they of different quality? Do supplements have sidefects?

  • @Tony-vb9ug
    @Tony-vb9ug 2 месяца назад

    Yes it must be balanced, healthy food and exercise, but most importantly if you are in perimenopause with heavy symptoms every one of those woman should get there blood levels checked and then start hrt treatment to get the hormone triangle just right. Estrogen progesterone and testosterone will give you transformation you won't get out of food alone. I have watched my wife transform from a tired, sore frustrated woman. Into a new person. Don't let your doctors talk you out of it. Do your research today

    • @TheSweatyPillow
      @TheSweatyPillow 2 месяца назад

      Fully agree. And I am so happy to hear your wife is doing much better! Lifestyle changes are foundational but they alone cannot replace the lost hormones. Unfortunately, many doctors are still under-informed about menopause and/or are not comfortable prescribing HRT.

    Hmm...i don't know what to think, as a researcher, Dr Berry is very out of date about cholesterol and fibre, maybe she needs to listen to the other Dr Berry (Ken). And if the study group were fed high fat and carb meals then how do you know what you're measuring? Again she needs to look at the research as yes, high carbs will spike blood sugar, fat does NOT. However, I definitely think there needs to be more work done on all phases of menopause. Also any yoghurt? So, choosing high sugar & skim milk is ok?? Thankfully she finally mentions benefit of high fat and protein.

    As a 49-year-old Canadian woman, I appreciate this video. Lately, I have been struggling with staying asleep, which has significantly disrupted my life. As the CEO of a company, this issue has been particularly challenging. I am currently on 300 mg of bioidentical progesterone and a small amount of testosterone gel. However, they refuse to prescribe me bioidentical estrogen because I am not yet in menopause. So frustrating.

      Hi there! So glad you appreciate the video, that truly means a lot. I'm really sorry to hear that you have been struggling with these symptoms. Disclaimer - this is not medical advice - however, it is really strange that they would perscribe progesterone without estrogen. Hi there! We're talking about how in life, women will often go to extremes obsessing about their bodies, but how, during menopause, women often finally learn body neutrality and acceptance, and how they are no longer willing to give up life's simple pleasures, such as a scone with clotted cream. It's an excerpt from The Sweaty Pillow Podcast episode with Amanda Thebe, available on August 1st. I hope you have a wonderful day! And thank you for watching our videos

    But what can we do for ourselves since these doctors don't want to do you know women always had a hard time when it come down to man you remember man thought it meant that they're the rulers so what can we do as women to help ourselves if these doctors are not going to leave while I wait another generation let us start taking care of each other now

    • @TheSweatyPillow
      @TheSweatyPillow 5 месяцев назад

      It's a bitter pill to swallow, but we really need to be as informed as we possibly can so that when we go to the doctor's for help, we can accurately and concisely describe what we are feeling, what we need, and how we expect them to help us.

    I'm 66 and have been on HRT for about 12 yrs. I have a uterus and was taking capsules til about two yrs ago when I changed doctors. This new doctor only prescribes creams, but now my hot flashes are back, and my sleep is terrible.. I didn't realize that she only prescribed 25 mg of the progesterone, but the former doctor prescribed 125mg. I have just gone back to my former doctor and he again prescribed the 125 mg. I know that creams are more readily absorbed, but does this sound right? I'm assuming the 25 mg was not a high enough dosage?

    • @TheSweatyPillow
      @TheSweatyPillow 7 месяцев назад

      Hi! We are not doctors (we just interview them!) so, disclaimer this is not medical advice BUT it might be worth talking to the new doctor about why they choose to only perscribe creams - especially, when it sounds like you were thriving on the capsules. It is you doctor's responsibility to provide you with the care YOU need, not decide that they only like creams if thats not right for you.

      I recently started on HRT at 60 years old. I’m on the transdermal Estradiol patch and oral Micronized Progesterone. Initially my patch dose was 0.025 MG but now I’m on the 0.075 MG patch. For my progesterone, I started on 100 MG but went up to 200 MG and am sleeping better on the higher dose.

      I just started on HRT 2 months ago at 60.5 years old and more than 10 years post-menopause. My doctors are fine with me doing this because I have no pre-existing atherosclerosis or cardiovascular disease, as well as no metabolic disease. My recent Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) score is zero, Lp(a) is <6, and HbA1c is 5.4. Sadly, I have osteoporosis so hopefully HRT will help with that and I will also get some brain/heart benefits. The good news is I’m sleeping better, and have less brain fog & irritability.

    This is great advice, Kim! I’m close to two menopausal women in my life (my mum and my girlfriend’s mum) and they’ve found that there are two things that have helped so far. The first is a keto-like diet that avoids a lot of processed sugar and simple carbs in favour of eggs, fat, and animal protein. This has helped a lot with the weight fluctuations and bloating in particular. Another thing that seems to work wonders is Tongkat Ali. It’s helped with the joint pain, sleep disturbances, and general lack of energy. Their stress levels / cortisol seems to be well under control as well!

    It is insane that for 50+ years, the specialty of Endocrinology that most mid size to large size medical networks which have an endocrinology department.....do not look at hardly anything except insulin and thyroid hormones. And maybe their networks have orthapedists and other specialists that deal with cortisone like hormones. But endocrine hormones like progesterone, testosterone, estradiol, DHEA and pregnenolone are basically ignored completely except for maybe ESTROGEN HRT for menopausal women. This is the crime of omission of the century. This is on purpose ;unfortunately; since if endocrinologist were competant in these hormones and you had rights to be screemed and treated properly......it would reduce the profits to these medical networks of at least $500,000,000,000 anually. That is five hundred billion dollars savings to millions of patients and patients would need far less health care visits. Millions of more patients would live healthy into their 80s and be able to enjoy their grandkids and old age instead of being in horroble physical and mental pain with diabetes, osteoporosis, heart problems, wasted muscles and walking slowly with canes or even in wheelchairs at 63 yo. We need what Im calling "Bioidentical Hormonal Patients Rights and Protection Act" All governmets around the world need to have legislation to give patients rights to be screened and treated properly for hormone dysregulation diseases. It is not enough to just go to a hormone clinic. > 99.5% of patients cant afford to go to an out of pocket hormone clinic and their standard doctors will say they dont need such stuff or say it is DANGEROUS. SO MILLIONS OF PATIENTS CANT GET SCREENED AND PROPERLY TREATED BY ALMOST ANY DOCTOR IN THE WHOLE WORLD
