Autometer invision dash installation 1997 Silverado

Installation walk through on an autometer invision dash in a 1997 silverado 1500. www.autometer.com/gauges/invision.html
All that work for the same gauges we already have with no provision for adding fuel pressure, oil temp, and the like? What?
Can this unit be switched to metric??
Brother quick question what wire color is for the fuel level sensor thank you.
Orange: Fuel sender wire. Connect to the original fuel sender wire. GM typically used tan, pink, or violet for this
Is there an option to have this gauge cluster show wether if the truck is in park, drive, or reverse?
Wow that cut to run the wires thru looks bad
Did it fix your issue?
Yes
Can you tell me which wire is the fuel gauge wire on a 1995 chevy silverado, I got everything hooked up, but can seem to find the wire for the fuel sender unit
Orange: Fuel sender wire. Connect to the original fuel sender wire. GM typically used tan, pink, or violet for this
Which one is the gas line
does it show what gear your in?
It does not.
We need for 2003 to 2006 go Boys
There is no way I am doing this to my truck. I have looked at these and they say they are direct fit, in my mind direct fit does not involve butchering my dash and wiring harness. Looks good but its not for me
Did you have issues with the turning over then shutting off??? I installed this same model 4 month ago and im recently having issues with it shutting off, can you help please??
Did you run your constant power and grounds directly to the battery as recommended? I made the mistake of not doing that at first and had some issues.
Dash does look good!
Too much work, They have plug and play ones.
Hey buddy where are you located do u want to do a Cadillac Escalade 2000
Do you think there’s any way I could make this work for a 92 Silverado? And if not why would it not work ?
Is this compatible with the diesel equipped GM trucks of that year range?
It should work just fine it has to all be wired up anyway. You will just have a lot of rpm range on the guage you don't need.
How much does something like this cost to install? Labor wise
I paid about $1000
Well you mess that up , cutting dash and wires really, wasn't nothing wrong with what you had!!!
And it's ugly
Is there lag?
The display was very responsive on a stock setup. I can't speak to a faster revving engine but it seems very seamless.
@@texasfreakkustoms nice got any smaller sizes? Looking to buy ine for my 1972 riviera
What is the price
Can i use this with a carb swap and trans swapped 97 c1500?????
Yes
Nice whish they have it for 2000 and up for afther swaps
Would this work for a 99?
Is that an Android head unit?
It's a Boss BE9ACP
My first car was a 71 Spider. I have great memories, but it wasn't very reliable. You had to know how to work on it. Much better looking under the hood than the smogged versions.
Tap the face of the oil pressure gauge lightly with your finger when you start up. For some reason those Veglia gauges all seem to hang a bit. (assuming the gauge is hooked up!) Use the high octane gas when you fill it. Modern unleaded, along with removing the AIR pump & running that header will stress your exhaust valves. (make sure your distributor advance is hooked up and working too.) Overall, a fine looking example ! (I have a YT playlist of some Fiat 124 stuff if you'd like to view it.)
What was your original carburetor: ADF or ADFA? Or was it a DFEV? The ADF and ADFA were water operated chokes. The DFEV is electrically operated. I have a '75 with an ADFA. I did not see the separate return nipple on your carb nor the vapor bowl vent nipple that connects to the spherical carbon trap at the left fender. The return nipple forms a "Y" with the intake nipple. You should check out the 2 You Tube channels Eldest Builds and Garage Time. Both have extensive repair/rebuild videos on '79 Fiat Spiders and I believe both reside in Texas. They know each other and hooked up at the 2022 Fiat Freakout that was held near Houston. There are original Weber's available but cost 2 1/2 times more than the Empi replacement. Fun car to drive.
Damn this looks good with that big ass iPad stereo you got with it
Should fit on a 99 tahoe as well?
Yes
07 Avalanche:LTZ⁉️😳
As much as this thing cost they should make it plug and play
Would I be able to put this on a Jeep Wrangler 2002?
It would not be a direct fit. You would have to use autometer's universal kit. I couldn't begin to guess how the fitment or ease of installation would go. www.autometer.com/invision-lcd-dash-universal-panel-mount.html
Was the truck throwing a grid heater light and code P1222 and derating by chance? I just found glitter in my fuel bowl for the first time ever, however, mine does not really smoke. So it looks like I am going to be doing the same repair... with the addition of a Fass fuel filtration system. Do you happen to have about what the parts cost on your repair? Thanks in advance and good video!
No codes just lots of smoke off idle. The injectors were sticking open. The new rail and reman pump were about $1400 from diesel power products. The injectors and tubes were from mopar. Bosh reman injectors and new cummins tubes. I believe around $3700.
@@texasfreakkustoms thank you!
We need this for the 03-06 gm trucks .
99-06
What causes this?
Oil from the pressure sensor will wick its way through the wiring. I've seen it with washer fluid, power steering fluid, and other liquid on different models. It's an interesting phenomenon.
Do you happen to have a photo of the wires after you installed them?
I don't have any other pictures of it.
is there anything for a 04 cadillac escalade esv?
fits silverado 1989
Custom fonts would be nice.
I have a69 Plymouth original motor etc so a universal obs can actually be installed in my car
Did you have to plug anything to the transmission
Since this fits in a 97 do you think it fit in a 91??
They offer a universal kit, I'm not sure about the differences in fitment for pre 95 dashes
F150 2009 ?
They offer a universal kit but not sure on the fitment
Can I use GPS speed instead of the original wire?
I know that autometer sells a gps speed interface module that works with its dashes.
Looking back, are you still happy with it? Would you have gone another route? Waiting to install mine. Price is insane but I'm hoping it'll be with it once installed.
It's not my truck but I have owned several of these trucks and would do it to my own in a heartbeat. Rhe gentleman I did the install for still loves it. The best part I think is that you can easily adapt it if you decide to do an engine or transmission swap.
@@texasfreakkustoms can you make it so the odo says the amount of miles you had on the original one
@@kaleblemasters8008 yes you can set it to the exact miles if you want
@@texasfreakkustoms can you install one on a 2004 Cadillac escalade ext
This is how you end up driving a 1997 car in 2022. Kids, save and invest. Don't fall victim to consumerism.
How you get your speedometer to work can’t seem to make mine work
I used the factory speed signal from the pcm and followed the setup procedure for calibrating the cluster in the installation instructions
So nice, good job
Hey! I’m about to install this. Do you splice oil temp/pressure/water temp wiring into the harness ? Or some other solution? I have a l86/8l90 combo. Thanks
I spliced into the factory harness for most of the connections but I was using the original drive train so it didn't require as much modification as a swap does.
Where get it from?
