    Thanks for the review. It was very hard to find any on this product. I must say, you are way too kind. I got it on Temu for just S&H (less than $10). Well you get what you pay for. It never worked for me. Both times showed a red light and every time I tried to start would loose a percent or two. A lady parked next to me at the airport had another that looked almost identical and it worked immediately. I’m sending it back and writing a bad review on it! Boooo😅

    I guess you mentioned that the battery was totally dead... Once a battery is totally dead you can't get no charge into it 🤔

    Why don’t you just order all the coolant lines and replaced them all collar junkyard and get a fender color matched and hood and put it on

    • @CDCFlips-rl5sr
      @CDCFlips-rl5sr 6 месяцев назад

      From what I have gathered, replacing the trans cooler lines requires unbolting the subframe and lifting the engine several inches to maneuver the lines out. Also, it is hard to find a junkyard around here that has a Jaguar XF in porcelain white close by and the few I have found that do, I haven’t gotten a response from when I inquired about the fender, hood, and bumper cover.

    Most Jaguars pre 2010 are not the most reliable. Im looking to get the 3.0l V6 diesel Jaguar XF or XJ and have been advised to get something 2010 onwards, ideally 2015 onwards if possible to save money on repairs.

      Do not get jaguar diesel as it is the same ford diesel used in the notorious Range Rover which snaps crank, turbo, oil pump all with catastrophic engine failure. I drive a 2003 xj6 3.0 sport petrol and drove 3000 miles from UK to Kyiv trouble free. If maintained it will do 35 mpg crushing

    As for the power steering fluid change...I would have undone the return line (held back by hose clamp pliers) and placed it in that bucket. Then fill the reservoir with fresh fluid and see if it would have gravity bled. I would have also tried to keep all the lines out of the way of the alternator with zip ties so that you could have started the engine and cycled the system to get all the old fluid out. Did you try to Google flushing the system online for any help?

    • @CDCFlips-rl5sr
      @CDCFlips-rl5sr 7 месяцев назад

      @Rickbearcat I did google it and the initial way I found was similar to the way I did it, but they had the engine running to push all of the fluid out. I didn't even think about zip tying it out the way. Had I done that, I agree that it would have gotten all of the old fluid out. Perhaps I will go back another day and try it the way you suggested. Thanks for comment!

    I enjoyed the jokes with your son. You should check for current at the electrical connector just to make sure that it's getting power. Do you hear it working? It would be unlikely that all of them don't work I would assume.

    • @CDCFlips-rl5sr
      @CDCFlips-rl5sr 7 месяцев назад

      I had to go back and watch this because I typically edit out, or mute, any conversations I have with others during filming. If you are referring to the joke about super glue, epoxy resin and double-sided tape, that was me talking to myself. If not, then let me know what the joke was because I clearly missed it, lol.

    I was wondering where you were going to get your parts. Thanks for answering that question.

  • @Rickbearcat

    I have the XF Supercharged with the EXACT same interior. They call the color Barley. I too have a small tear in the driver's seat (smaller than yours) which I think is due to Jaguar using thinner leather than they should have with the seat perforations being the Achilles heel. As for the cup holder bottom, I think that it is just a bit of brightwork they put in rather than looking at a black plastic bottom. You mention the vents not being able to rotate due to an auxiliary heater? I've never heard of this. Do you live in Canada? But, yeah, the rotate function lives in the center screen as you said. You should just be able to toggle it on or off. Sometimes the gears can break if they get shocked or worn.

    • @CDCFlips-rl5sr
      @CDCFlips-rl5sr 7 месяцев назад

      In colder weather areas (like Canada) they do sell these with an auxiliary heater which when they go bad, causes issues with the vent not rotating. There is a RUclips video explaining it. Mine does not have that and after replacing all of the gears, they do rotate again, sort of. 2 of the 4 seem to still have issues fully and easily rotating. Not sure if it is a worn out motor or (most likely) something I did incorrectly.

      Hello and thanks for commenting. I appreciate that you enjoy what I’m doing, it means a lot to hear that and even if seeing what I do wrong prevents you from making the same error, it’s worth it. The brake sensor fault was for worn out pad wear sensors. All the best to you as well!

    I love the XF! But 2009 is not a great year. $1500 is only about $1500 too much. By the time you are done with parts and your labor, you would have been better off buying a good one with a lot less miles.

    • @CDCFlips-rl5sr
      @CDCFlips-rl5sr 7 месяцев назад

      I agree. I should have started with something that was easier and cheaper to fix for sure. It is likely worth more in parts than as a whole. But I always wanted a Jag and now I get to pay for it.

    I just did the same thing and bought a very cheap 3.0d with 148k miles on it and several problems. So far I have fixed a BMS problem, a damaged sub woofer, fixed a fault on the bluetooth module, given it an oil and filter change and fixed a few other minor things. Next week is a cam belt change, replacing a tpms sensor and fixing a door lock and window regulator on the passenger side. Sometimes people fit metal to the bottom of the cubbies in the center console because of a really weird problem. The aerial for the TPMS sits below the rear cubby and sometimes cables that power usb devices or usb devices themselves can interfere with the signal and cause invalid TPMS system failure messages. Same thing happens on some Fords. Not saying for certain that's why it's there but it is a known problem and it can be hard to track down as it is not at all obvious. Best of luck with it, they are a truly superb car.

    I got my Grandfather's 87 Chrysler Fifth Ave after he was done with it. I used it as a second car and then a main car for years back in the early 2000s. Seats were like a couch, and it would get over 30MPG on the highway with that 318. I miss the car dearly. I got rid of it because the back window started leaking into the trunk. It likely could have been fixed. Wish I had now. Had over 250k miles on it when I sold it, and it was still running great as I took care of it. Clear coat was peeling though, this was back when the switch the paint formulas as my grandfather told me.

      Thanks for sharing your experience with me! Those seats were crazy comfortable and I was genuinely surprised by how well it has held up over the years. I know how you feel about wishing you had it now. I once had a chance to buy an '83 Bronco back in like 2002-2003 and I was like, "No, I want something nicer". Now with the new Broncos out and the value of older Broncos going up, I wish I would have bought it. Plus, it was truly utilitarian and just a beast.

      If you buy private party, have it checked out by a competent mechanic. Otherwise, you might find a good one at a dealership as I did. I bought my 2010 in 2019 and have had very very few problems. But I got a low mileage, one owner. I paid for it though...$17,000.
