Wasted, plastered, polluted, blitzed, smashed. It really doesn't matter because the audience had a great story to tell their friends, children, grandkids about. a regular show would not be as memorable. I saw him in spring of 1985 in Columbia SC @ a honky tonk,the palomino club(3500 capacity) became out wearing a headband dragging the stage & sat down at the piano & announced, "my name is Jerry Lee Swaggart & I eat pussy" pounded the keys for 45 mins, kicked the piano bench 4 feet in the air & walked off the stage.that was a story I have told for almost 40 years. I have seen him 5 times, but that was the most memorable show. the killer rocks on 🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎶🎵🎼

well, I can't condone being drunk for a show, but when you play a set for 60 years, it can get repetitive. but I need a shot of 'Star club live' by Jerry Lee Lewis. sober w/ energy to spare. saw the KILLER in South Boston, at the Channel.1st tune was the cover 'walk a mile in my shoes' GREAT show. early-mid '80's, Prime Movers opened w/ a terrific set.

saw him in a small club in Dublin about 15 years ago...amazing...due to come on at 9 kept the band playing for a hour before he came on....they didnt know what state he would be in or if he was even going to play...but....best gig of my life....
