I love how Falcone is portrayed as a greater scope villian rather than just some Mobster from Batman's early days, like someone who you know you don't wanna cross. Cause if you do, you'll forever be his debt or if you're not, he'll make it look it you never even exist. Basically a man who's untouchable by the law, more powerful than the Mayor and basically bent the law to his advantage. Take the Riddler out and the film still would be great. For me, Carmine is the film's real main antagonist. If that's not true, his presence is still felt throughout the TV show the Penquin, with his daughter Sofia now taking over the family as Gigante (her mother's surname). It's almost like Matt Reaves brillitantly makes it look like he's resposbile for the creation of the various villians that appeared in the city after his death and it feels very significant as well proving Batman had no part in creating his enimies, the corruption and crime in Gotham did and Carmine was the King of Gotham, now without him, a power vaccum has started with many vying for control. The show Penquin perfectly showed that.

This is one of the most insightful moments in Batman lore. Everything he stood for and believed in is compromised and stained. Learning the truth must have been as awful as them dying. This iteration of Carmine Falcone is brilliant. A man comfortable in his own skin and his own sin. His calm forged by years of corruption and graft. It changed the way I look at Batman and I see Gotham in broader terms now as a living entity wracked by cancer. Just brilliant.

Quite telling that the only time Campbell has the balls to be aggressive in a physical way against Tommy is when Tommy is beaten to shit already, Campbell only ever had courage when he felt he had the upper hand, whenever that delusional idea was corrected he shrank up very quickly

I really love how this movie captures the fact that how much of a broken character Batman/Bruce Wayne is , through out the movie i could just feel the pain and sadness inside Batman/Bruce , despite the fact that it’s been 20 year’s he still hasnt learned how to deal with his parent’s death , he misse’s them a lot and he doesnt know how to express his pain rather than just being cold most of the time , it’s so tragic , and when The Riddler revealed that stuff about his parent’s , that made Bruce feel fear , confusion and anger , it was all in his eye’s.

Hands down one of my favorite scenes in the whole film! They nailed Falcone in the casting department and big ups to John Turtorro for his performance here! Falcone here comes off a sincere guy but in a spinechilling nutshell, he's the devil who runs Gotham who possibly got Thomas and Martha killed and dangles the possibility in front of Bruce like a piece of meat to a starving lion cub. Not to mention the mansion walk scene after the "I mean you ain't a kid no more," is the definition of a bundle of bricks to the gut: brutal, hurtful and sorrowful.

Wild thing is he shares the same name with a notorious hitman from Detroit also named Chester Campbell.
