FF7 Ever Crisis First Soldier EP 2 Daily Free Draw #6
Vaults and banks steadily improve as the series goes on. They're pretty basic and tedious at this point. You can win Metal Babble Helms from a metal monster later. It's a rare drop ( or steal if Taloon is in the party and decides to do it. ) You're technically only supposed to ever be able to get 1 whether from small medals or drops, but if you put the one you have in the vault, you can actually get extras. ( Assuming you're willing to endure the tedious grind for them ) Sword of Miracles is just really good for a really long time, so having two of them makes it worth skipping the helm from the small medals, even if you're not going to farm one. I would grab at least one Sword of Miracles ASAP. It makes the character wielding it almost self-sustaining. Ragnar, Taloon, and the Hero can use it, I believe. Maybe Nara and Cristo? Can't remember. Almost positive of the first three. You can get Meteorite Armbands and Metal Babble Shields from gambling in Endor, BTW. Metal Babble Shield casts fendspell when used as an item, and you know what the armband does from previous installments. You can get a sense of the not-truly-random poker game after a while, and double-downs can build tokens fast. Zenethian Armor reduces spell and breath damage by a third, so very nice for our hero. Yep, I was right that everyone will jump out of the wagon after an active TPK in this version. Oh my lord I was screaming at the screen when you went back into the cave. LOL I knew that wasn't going to end well. Alas, one of the most unfortunately named enemies in JRPG history is still a bit strong. Playing the new FFR version. Spellblade has a great equipment draw. Only 1 spell per level so not super expensive. A little weak in the HP department. Spellblade is also targetable, meaning you can use it on allies. The after class-change abilities have some serious utility. Runic absorbs up to 3 spells cast on that turn ( enemy or ally ) and builds up charges. You can then use those charges to hit every enemy on screen on your next turn with devastating physical attacks. Block 3 of those MadCat Fire2 spells, then make them pay for trying to fry you on your next turn. I really hope it works on Gas Dragons. LOL Still have two visits with the new wandering swordsman NPC who gives elemental weapons, so it will be interesting to see what devastating new weapons are in my future. The new Paladin quest is a little lame. The reward is a shield that isn't even super strong and has no resistances, but randomly neutralizes spells hitting the Paladin. That could be okay if you didn't have to TRADE X-CALIBUR FOR IT! Fortunately, you can trade back and forth at will between the sword and shield. I'll try out Archer in my next run of the game.
solid banner but a skip for me
I had a lot of trouble with Balzack too. I think I had to grind until Ragnar was about 21.
Yeah, he is being a pain. I do find some helpful gear in the next one.
Well noticed on the stone of drought! Its use is very similar to something from a previous installment, but probably an area that's a bit too advanced for you at the moment. RE: Small Medal King - Staff of Judgement is good for this point in the game. Sword of Miracles is pure awesome. There are 32 total small medals in the game so you can do the math and decide whether you want to get multiples of anything ( like sword of miracles ) or go for 1 of everything. ( Assuming you find them all )
Good to note about the small medals, I will probably hold off for now, until I feel like I need it. I will probably go for the sword of miracles first.
If I had bc to spare I would have pulled. This outfit is amazing and complements red very well. Shame I am poor lol. RIP the canyon outfit now, glad I did not use my voucher on that
Shouldn't have to select the key starting with this installment. Pretty sure the door command will work if you possess the correct key. I'm pretty sure this is the installment where each new key opens all the old locks as well, meaning you only need to carry your newest key. Keelon can be pure luck a lot of times. Taloon for his odd abilities and Alena for crits was a good choice. Can't remember whether Cristo has upper/increase or Brey has sap, but those could have been helpful. And there it is! Now that you have Ragnar, the overworld theme is "Wagon Wheels March" whenever the Hero is in the lead, one of my absolute favorites. Officially pre-ordered DQ3 HD2D last night. Final Fantasy Renaissance is supposed to have an update by the end of the month adding two new classes: Spellblade and Archer.
Lots of options for your party now. You'll pretty much always have a healer in the wagon to keep you healthy as you travel. No matter how much fun Taloon is, you'll probably want Alena at least in boss fights. Her insane crit rate comes in really handy. Once you have Ragnar, his armor draw makes him a better tank. Taloon's abilities can still be amazing, but they're random. Alena and Ragnar are more reliable. I still keep him in as often as possible myself, and a sword of miracles can make him viable in even some boss situations. You need a new means of conveyance to follow the treasure map. The overworld monsters change in Ch. 05, but often the dungeon ones don't, so it can be a bit confusing when you're fighting monsters you've never seen before and enter a cave or something only to discover that you've been through it in a previous chapter. Any weapon that has Metal (slime, babble, king) in the name ALWAYS hits metal critters for a couple of damage, so that's something to keep in mind when you find one. ( from here on out in the series ) They're also just generally strong weapons. Ditto for armor being extremely strong when it's of the metal enemy variety. You can build a fairly good metal critter killing party in this game. Metal critter swords, Alena's crit rate, poison needles, a certain spell Mara gets much later... You can build a party where you can kill lots of metal critters per battle. Exp skyrocket. Taloon can be a detriment in a metal killing party, because he'll sometimes convince the enemies to leave the battle. Of course if he's equipped with a Metal Babble Sword and calls the merchant army for three hits in a round... Sacred robe has some magical resistance I believe. That's typically worth it when it's a matter of only a few points of defense difference. ( For future reference when you find something with more defense. ) It's sometimes worth it to keep the weaker armor for the magic defense. Cloak of Evasion's ability to dodge attacks can also be better than pure defense. And there's Healie. He got to be a real boy! LOL It's never explained how it happened that I know of. A pleasure cruise to an island in the far northeast corner of the map might be a pleasant and profitable diversion from your quest ;)
thx for the info
My Limited Banner Rules -- * Never pull if you have under 54000 gems * Try to pull to the end of page 2 when you do. * Try not to be too redundant w/ regard to R. Abilities / Role For me, this is out because I only have 35000 gems right now and I have Stream Slasher + Slay the Day at high OBs and a pretty decent Tempest Sephiroth. I probably can't incorporate this onto any team other than an extremely niche one that would see Angeal being able to provoke every attack and never need a team heal. The alternative would be to toss either Sephiroth or Glenn which would be madness for water content. I'm sure there will be times that I wish I had this instead of Glenn's kit, but Glenn's water kit is all he currently has going for him and it'd be a damn shame to replace him.
Good instincts on the small medal search. That's exactly the kind of place you'll find them, and the gear you can get is oh so awesome. Don't forget you've got the Sword of Malice for an AOE in those battles with buttloads of one group enemies. There's Taloon doing his thing. I love him, even if he's far from the most powerful member. Exactly! The king is in the fields and the chancellor is standing around doing nothing. Bloody bureaucrats... Taloon will tell you if a weapon can be used in battle. I think he also mentions if armor has magical protection. Yeah, not all of Taloon's antics are beneficial. LOL Most of them are and they're awesome. If I'm remembering right and you have the Sword of Miracles equipped on Taloon, he even heals with each of the three attacks the merchant army makes when he calls them.
Taloon is hilarious. I love having him in the party. Yeah I forgot about the sword having those properties. This game really ironed out a lot of the problems in the earlier games.
That joke with the demon applies to most DQ games where you use Return or a wing indoors and you bang your head. I was probably 100 hours into DQ11 before I realized that restriction wasn't in place there. LOL It was such an absolute for so many years that I never even considered the possibility that you could use it indoors. Then I did it accidentally and stared at my screen for quite some time in stunned disbelief when I actually arrived where I'd intended instead of bonkin' me noggin. Taloon is absolutely my favorite character in the game, and typically remains in my main party far longer than he really should. He should absolutely be replaced by Ragnar or Alena at the first opportunity, but I love the ridiculous stuff he does in battle too much. Unfortunately, you don't get the iron safe back. My personal canon reason was that he left it at the house and his wife is using it as the storage facility for the vault. The tactics screen that lets you change your formation outside of battle now also allows you to select who's in and out of the wagon. First four people are your active party, everyone else is reserve in the wagon. The people who are in reserve will earn experience anywhere you can take the wagon. ( which means not in some caves, etc. ) You can also utilize their magic outside of battle. So you don't necessarily have to have the stepguard caster in your active party, for example. You can have someone in the wagon do all your out of battle healing to keep the MP of your active party reserved for fights. You can also swap people out during battle with the tactics screen, and if your whole active party dies, everyone in the wagon will automatically jump out and take over. At least I'm reasonably certain on that last one. I don't *think* that was a remake exclusive thing. It's been too long since I've played the original. Make sure you pay attention to whether the wagon is following you when you enter a new area. If you're not paying attention, you can get caught off-guard thinking you have your reserves when they're waiting outside in the wagon.
Fair enough about the joke. I didn't think about that. I like it. That is a bummer about the iron safe, kind of weird you only get it for a super small percentage of the game. I do like your thought about what happened to it as a personal canon. Thats awesome that those that are in the wagon, as long as wagon is present, earn experience. Makes being able to switch them out if needed a much easier decision. That is a super innovation for not only this series but NES RPG's in general being able to switch out party members in battle. Final Fantasy wouldn't see that until 10 unless you look at 6 where they jump in after a party member dies. I mean 7 you could swap to a different group in the final battle, but still. Again I am assuming this can only happen when the wagon is present. This has been a great addition to the series.
I finally beat Dragon Warrior 4 last night. You seem to be doing well.
Nice, I wish I had the time to just sit down and crank out the game. Between work, family, and life not as easy to do. I really am liking this addition to the series.
Happy to see all the new content! Good timing as well, will try to push Brutal tower a bit after these powerups
I'm excited to get into all of this. Love when we get new content!
There are ways you can fudge things to play DQX stateside, but it's more than a bit involved - especially if you don't know Japanese. Hope springs eternal that they localize the new single-player version that came out. DQV on the DS is easily the best version currently available. There are decent fan translations of the Japanese-only releases, but you obviously prefer original hardware. Of course, DS capture is a pain in the buttocks as well. For straight-up enjoyment, the DS version with its modernization is absolutely the way to go. New third bride option ( though I always choose the one the story is obviously setting you up with ) and tons of other bonus content. Starting with six, you don't lose that much of the experience of the original release by going with the re-releases. They were fairly modernized by that point, so you're just choosing between bonus content or not. I would absolutely recommend the DS release of 8. Two new playable characters is hard to pass up, and they're both super fun. You can drop the symbol of faith in the vault. Later releases actually save you some time and have Hector take that when you present it to him so you don't have to worry about it. Monsters that do random things like be flustered in battle is a DQ staple. Typically works in your favor, though sometimes random monster actions can actually be dangerous. Sleeping monsters will roll over on you and the like. Absolutely take out anything that looks like a Pteranodon in DQ quickly. Breath and death attacks are common from enemies using those sprites. You might want to go to tactics and select "go all out" when going into boss fights. Can't remember whether this one has the "focus on healing" option, but that one has some utility as well. The manual actually suggests utilizing "try out" during random battles for a while in order to "train" the AI, but I never felt that actually accomplished a lot other than randomly using herbs, overkilling with spells and such when you don't need them. Could be worth turning it on while you're grinding, since exp and gold is your only real goal. It can sometimes show you that a spell will work against critters when you didn't expect it to, so there's that. Switching between normal, use no MP, and go all out is more effective when you have an actual goal in mind. Use no MP is handy for traveling when you don't want your companions wasting their MP on the way, and once you get some healing/attack items they will use them. They'll use herbs as well, but it's all a little sketchy since the AI isn't that bright no matter what you do. LOL
Good to know about the “training” of the AI. I will mess with that when I need to grind. I do have a way to capture DQV so I should be good to go when I get there. This has been a fun journey so far, kind of sad I didn’t discover these games years ago when they were new.
Yeah, the Cave of Betrayal can be a serious pain. That surround spell from the LickLicks was a bad break. Forced you to use a lot of MP you needed for the rest of the dungeon. I think you can actually use the seeds in this one without penalizing your stats at level-up. I don't think this one has a max cap on stats per level the way 3 does. So you can actually distribute them as best helps any particular character. It's also random, so you can save scum for better boosts. How does the knight wearing a cut-up pot-belly stove as armor dodge ANYTHING? LOL Small medals are a special currency that you can trade for AWESOME items eventually. This is where you need to start keeping your eyes open for any spots that look suspicious. They're not all in chests or drawers. Some are just lying on the ground at dead ends, in flower beds, etc. They do eat up inventory space until you find the place to trade them in, so worth dropping them in the vault for a while.
Gorgeous outfit, I agree with you. I have ob10 ice sephi so is a pass for me.
That is where mine is too. If I was a spender, or had enough crystals I would drop them on this for sure. Even though I don't NEED it, I WANT it. lol
@@Iggy010 lol I have the crystals but she is not my main. Also bearing in mind that the special event comes in NovemberI, I wanna have enough in case we get another kamura-like weapon and if not I need to save for ice tifa re run.
It was meh for me...... wish the GB would have been tailored to the anni draws.... everyone went hard on them and then were kinda Fd. Was hoping for updates to the guild bonus's. All the free stuff was nice, but it felt like they shoved free stuff at us to cover the lack of content.
Agree with your comments, especially about Titan. I get that they don't have to create new character models for Shiva and Ramuh but Titan would have been a nice addition towards the end of the anni
Oh well at least we get titan “soon”.
I hate exactly the same. I emailed them and they ignored me. Tifa should have had the same treatment on the outfit.
I think that was honestly my biggest gripe of the anniversary.
I disagree in that I believe its a great weapon for vincent. His kit is almost exclusively magic based. Combine it with the sawed off to increase his matk to high and his 1.2 damage activates. (That or bring tifa as a buff support) I do agree that theres no reason to go for this if you have Kirin gloves at ob6+ already or overspent on anniversary, though.
Maybe that’s why I’m having trouble justifying it. Because I already have both physical and magical lightning and I overspent on the anniversary. You are right it is a good weapon.
You are right that you need to grind a bit. You can get a broadsword for the hero. It's quite a grind but it will be worth it in the end.
I’ve done some grinding, and bought some new gear. Not the broadsword yet though. I’m hoping to get some recording done soon.
The Hero's slightly mournful theme isn't bad, but I'm itching for the true final chapter theme that you'll get at a story event. Yep, you start out with your best healer and your best wizard. It's that fourth position that's arguable. Alena? Ragnar? Extra magical firepower? Taloon because he's super fun in the last chapter? ( if not super powerful ) There is a good reason to go into Endor castle at night, but you're missing a key at the moment. Yep, it's time to learn the AI system. You don't get to control anyone but the hero in the final chapter. You can now use "Tactics" on the menu to select different options like "use no magic", "go all out" etc. Just have to play around with it. The wedding is just continuity from Taloon's tale. It's not important. The boarding pass that you're carrying around can go to the Vault. You never need it again. Might want to move the sphere of silence to the Hero so you can use it at will instead of depending on the AI, which isn't very advanced in this first outing for the series. Yep, the desert is your destination. The Cave of Betrayal can be pretty difficult. Move the sphere to the hero, and pick up level 5 for the hero.
I’m excited to get this part of the story with the hero underway. I just wish I had all the time to sit down and play this one to the end in one go. This one has been very enjoyable so far and I’m interested to see how this new trilogy makes it story.
Yep, this is what I was talking about all those times when I mentioned that sometimes death was the answer. =) When we got this game at release, my buddy I lived with actually owned it, so he had dibs until I managed to get my own copy. He was therefore well ahead of me playing only when he was at work and I wasn't. When he got to the Keelon battle, he refused to surrender. As soon as he would lose, he would reset and try again, or grind for more levels. By the time I caught up to him in this chapter, he'd been at it for a while. Put it this way, I'm pretty sure Mara had Bedragon, which she doesn't get until LEVEL 31! Imagine the amount of grinding he had to do in order to get there on the weak monsters of the region. Anyway, I had finally caught up, and I think I was in the range of level 15, because I knew how he was struggling so I was grinding a bit. I thought the key had to be the Silver Tarot Cards, so I was trying that. I haven't the foggiest idea how many attempts I made, but it was a lot. Finally, I had a really good run where the cards were casting Bikill and full party heals, which meant I had a long, hard fight with him. Upon inevitably losing ( the battle is unwinnable ) I was so frustrated at having gotten "so close" only to fail that I threw down the controller and walked out of the room cursing before hitting the reset button. That toss must have hit the A button enough to move on as I was stomping away. When I finally returned, I saw the scene in the jail, played it out, and moved on to the final chapter. My buddy came home from work, saw me playing and asked, "Who is that?" "The Hero" I answered, which caused the loudest HOW THE F@#& DID YOU BEAT HIM! known to man. I explained, saved, handed the cart over, and five minutes later he was in the final chapter. When he got Nara and Mara back, nothing could stand against him for the longest time because the sisters had godlike power. We learned a hard lesson that day. LOL
The true is mabye 5% of all player of ff7 ec use cait sith its not worth :/
I wish they made him more viable. Give him abilities that grant haste, or other unique buffs/debuffs that would make him viable or interesting to use.
@@Iggy010 yeah thats the point im so glad barret got mutch more useable then he was the first half year, now hes a good debuffer/Tank, hope the fix cait soon with unique weapons
The Crisis Dungeons were easy to beat
I agree.
With the powercreep we have had so far, it should be much easier.
We were all shocked by that first King Slime. LOL From here on out in the series, if you see slimes somewhere you don't think they should be, they're probably the special slimes that merge. Fendspell only protects from offensive/debuff. It doesn't stop you from using healing/buffs on yourself like silence does. Were(insert animal) are usually fairly dangerous critters in DQ, as are anything that looks like flames or humanoid flames. They've changed the of Weretiger to the pun "Wear Tiger" in more recent installments, implying it's another monster in a tiger suit. LOL The Silver Tarot cards are a random item. Most of the effects are buffs for you or horrors for your enemies. You unfortunately hit the one that casts Thwack on the whole party. That one becomes a 50/50 chance if you use the cards more than once in a battle. It dire situations, they can be a lifesaver, but it's a gamble in your average random battle. One of them does double Exp and Gold for the battle. I would often take a flip through the cards whenever I was near to town after having recently saved, when a death spell wasn't completely terrible. Drawing that doubler and managing to kill some metal critters... Whoo! Just need to search for the hidden button after the chancellor goes inside. Yep, the Sphere of Silence would have made that battle almost a joke. You are near the end of the chapter, so don't have a bunch of excess money. You got every chest in the mine that you can get in this chapter. There's one more thing you can find there in the final chapter.
Yeah that king slime really caught me off guard. That’s funny about the wear tiger thing in later installments. I wasn’t ready for those silver tarot cards effects lol. I do like the idea of the “chaos magic” of it, considering tarot cards have both positive and negative traits. I’m still kicking myself about the sphere of silence and not using it lol. Fixed that problem in the next one.
So I’m just now realizing I forgot about the sphere of silence……
Well...tifa loves you at least.
Which I am fine with lol!
That pull luck was insane
Yes it was, especially when I see the luck that others had been having.
Congrats on getting the Cait UW! Sadly I didn't get either one
Thanks. Sorry to hear about the unfortunate luck on your end.
These old-school games are typically stingy with Antidote spells. No worries about Nara getting the spell after buying the herbs... She never learns it. LOL Only Cristo gets it for some reason. The casters in this game are really specialized. Mara's fire, Brey is ice, Cristo is death spells... You have to use the right caster in the right situation. Might want to put Orin up front as a meat shield. It's under tactics in the menu, which is the only thing you can use tactics for until the final chapter. For a while, he absolutely devastates everything, but don't neglect the sisters. The gold you gain from him plowing through enemies and the equipment you buy will bring them up to his level soon enough. Mara's strength is so crap that you're better off going with effect weapons. Poison Needle or Venomous Dagger that sometimes paralyzes. No sense looking for the way into the jail in Keelon Castle... But do remember it. We always called the town HAYvill, but it's probably HAVill. That is one lazy bartender. Always hiding in the corner. How does he even stay in business?
Nice to know about the magic. You’re right, I should put him up front. I always forget about the order option. He definitely is a powerhouse compared to the other two at this point.
Currently playing this and was just about to hit the void. Not remembering what all I was getting into, I looked for a video, and low and behold... Bought this years ago, but I'd just come off of a really long grind like FF3 mastering all jobs, so I only got about 8 hours in before I was RPGd out. The next time I booted it up, I'd replaced my controller, and it didn't work for this game. Keyboard controls were just too tedious for me, and after messing around with joy2key and a bunch of other solutions, I gave up. That controller eventually developed issues, and I put my switch controller on the PC. Gave it a go. No love. Then I found out only about half of my steam games worked with the switch controller, so off to the store I went for an Xbox controller. Once I finished what I was trying to play previously, I gave this a shot, and bingo! Now after all these years I'm finally about to hit the void. ...And to retreat to do tedious grinding stuff just before fighting the final boss. LOL I've beat it a couple of times in the past with a reasonably leveled party. I'll be coming back with demigods and annihilating NeoExdeath eventually. Probably could do that now, actually. I'm level 50 with over a half a dozen jobs mastered on all characters from grinding out a few abilities I wanted for certain dungeons and bosses earlier in the game. Naturally, I missed 1 enemy in world 1 and one in world 2, so I have to replay back at least that far to get the bestiary achievement... Grumble... I think this one checks that across all files and not just the current one anyway... Glad you started narrating since this one. Missed the commentary.
Surprise! I really enjoy all iterations of FFV. Definitely one of my most enjoyed FF games. This is one of the few games I don''t mind making gods out of my characters as overall the game is very fun. Controller all the way for FF games for me. Yeah, at the time I did not have my office fully set up yet, so I was still in my living room. Usually my wife and kids are watching TV so there was always way too much background noise.
@@Iggy010 I've only played this once on a translated rom, once on PS1 I believe, once on the Pixel Remaster, and now this version. It's the proliferance of timed sections that makes me hesitate most of the time, but 4 new jobs excited me. It's my least played other than 9 ( twice ) 7&8 ( once ). The series has failed to entice me since 9. Oracle is kinda blah... I just grinded it out simultaneously on all characters on the lake near Crescent for the Freelancer/abp boost using Animals and Dance instead of their actual abilities. Cannoneer and Gladiator I really like. Useful abilities and nice equipment draw. Just finished grinding out 4 Aegis Shields and 4 Bone Mail, ( already have 6 Dragon Lances ) so I went in a little above Level 55 and beat the game with only one hiccup that could have been eliminated by not spending time trying to steal Ragnarok. LOL ( Only using the Aegis. I'm anticipating that I'll find use for the Bone Mail eventually ) Now for the super bosses, bonus dungeons, Necromancer, and final level/job grinds. Hoping I didn't miss any treasure chests. I already have to replay for a couple of missed monsters to get the bestiary achievement.
Yep, for reasons unknown, the sisters not only get their own overworld theme, they get their own battle theme as well. This is the final companion chapter. You start the main story after the sisters' chapter ends. The Sphere of Silence will silence spellcasters in battle, but it does have storyline uses as well. You made it to the sphere, and escape was far from guaranteed once both were poisoned, so that's a victory. I would have retreated the moment Mara got poisoned. I'm overly cautious. LOL Now you just need to redive to rescue Orin.
The battle theme was originally just Mara's theme. Horii liked it so much that he used it in battles as well.
Yeah, caution to the wind for me there lol. I need to keep reminding myself that even though I have been playing for a bit, I am back at the beginning with it being a new chapter. I am loving the music of this chapter for sure.
nice! i needed to see what the last mission was
Glad I could help!
Tifas banner will give anniversary tokens that you can exchange for genji tokens or cait sith tokens.
Yeah, unfortunately with how quickly I got the genji sword, every pull on that banner is less I have now towards the pity towards cait sith if I need it.
Nice pull luck! Congrats. I'm still waiting to see what Tifa's weapon does before I pull on any of them
I was going to, but that Aerith weapon seemed too good to pass up. Especially since she is my main healer.
Sick. Grats.
Thanks!
So far for me it’s been 7 pulls, 1 page, ob1 no genji. I think you had amazing luck I would deffo change 60 k for the ob10 pluses genji
Bummer on the no genji. Thanks and good luck with your pulls!
@@Iggy010so I finished with 48k in total and ob7, two pages only. I won’t pursue further as I want tifa. Still no genji
No worries. Your sanity is more important than some silly game twice as old as the kids you're teaching. LOL Drops should cover filling the King's order. If you get and sell loads of other stuff, you can top the order off with some purchases when you're filthy rich, but Giant Worms and Ducksbills drop the two items you need regularly. Just outside the cave actually seems to yield the best results, though I do remember going inside for something back in the day... Outside means you're closer to town to drop off those and stuff to sell at your new shop. The main ( not early Hero theme ) overworld theme for the final chapter "Wagon Wheels March" is one of my favorite songs in the series. It's absolutely epic. You can go to your new shop and sleep there for free now that your wife has moved in. Speak to her from behind the counter during the day or upstairs at night. Selling stuff from your shop saves a little time and hassle. You can theoretically get more for any armor at Bonmalano, but you have to be lucky with his offer to top what you can easily get by selling it at full price from your own shop. It's typically only worth it when you come across some FULL plate armor. His offers are percentages, so the big sell price = big percentage. You can make bank by selling Full Plate at Bonmalano and everything else outside the King's order from your shop. The casino reopening is your cue to start gathering inventory to carry over and spend your remaining GP at the casino. The end is nigh. The tokens are so prohibitively expensive in this chapter because you often have more money than you know what to do with. Ah, the sisters... This is the chapter I mentioned at the end of DW3. Sometimes, death is the answer. Because you don't cheat with reset nearly as often as we did, you probably won't miss it for ages the way we did. Yes, his name is Balzack. LOL Nara is basically a priest and Mara a fire-specialist wizard.
I tell my students I enjoy playing older games and they usually respond with "like PS3 games?".........nope.......much older than that. I am looking forward to the sisters chapter. Seems fun.....even if the big bad is Balzack........
I've pulled and got it OB6, even tho my pulls are so so. Still no genji :( now waiting for my girl crush Tifa.
Good luck in eventually getting it!
There are special mako gems in tifa that help get genjis. It’s in the notice. Already pulled 1 page here, 7 pulls ob1. Will wait on tifa and then see which one I need to pursue but I agree we need this ob6 just need to see what tifa weapon does cause I also only want the outfit.
Yeah I saw that. Just more I would like to get the Cait Sith weapon as well and having more genji only mako gems makes that less likely.
Maybe you need to talk to the old man and the soldier in the castle from across the counter? I could have sworn this is when that quest unlocks. Even if I'm wrong, they eventually have a job for you. I completely forgot Ragnar made a cameo in Endor. But, where's Healie? Oh, crap, talking to the king reminded me. That quest unlocks once you own the shop. The cave is your next money making venture ( aside from selling armor for bonus cash at Bonmalano ) Had to look it up myself. The magic-user is upstairs at the inn. Upon looking it up, I seem to remember wandering around frustrated at not being able to find him on a second or third run through the game. That set of stairs kind of goes unnoticed for some reason. There he is! Get used to the A.I. system. It kinda sucks, but you just have to forge ahead. The wandering merchants are great for ridding yourself of those clubs and other cheap garbage you pick up in abundance during this chapter, and to buy herbs/wings. Sometimes it's a sheer blessing to see one. Giant chickens! Where's Peter Griffin when you need him? Yeah, the wasting MP thing is a serious problem with the A.I. Thankfully, the A.I. is much improved in later installments and remakes of this one, and includes a control them yourself option. There are at least some limited A.I. options in the final chapter. Part of the strategy of this one is always planning your journeys and dives accounting for that magic-happy tendency of your casters. Laurent must be equipped with a knife, I see it paralyzing monsters when he does actually use it. It's usually knives ( and sometimes whips ) that do that in DQ. I typically abandon helmets on Taloon after gaining some levels in order to open up another inventory slot. You'll probably get strong enough eventually to abandon your hangers-on as well. They never gain strength, and eventually become almost useless even as meat shields. One thing you learn on subsequent playthroughs is which chests contain Half Plate and Broadswords, which you'll want to leave and come back for later. It's not the end of the world, but it makes the money-stacking quicker if those are waiting for you as a jump start on your next quest. Between all the other stuff you pick up and the statuette in the cave, it's usually more than enough for the shop. Once you do have your shop, be on the lookout for Ducksbills and Worms. Their drops will be very beneficial. Absolutely go ahead and buy the shop. It unlocks a new quest in the castle to help you pay for the cave and new monster drops that further that quest. You make good money from found stuff you sell in your own shop as well, but you can still make more for armor at Bonmalano. Instead of getting half for selling something a monster drops to a merchant, you get full price if you sell it in your own shop. Not limited to weapons and armor either. You can sell herbs and wings from your shop. But hang onto those Broad Swords and Half Plates until you've visited the King of Endor and picked up your next quest!
Thanks once again for the tips! Crazy last week for me, just mentioned it in the video I just finished, but the next video will be up soon. I'm interested to see how all these mini stories will tie in together. Very ambitious for an NES title!
Trash unless max it
OB6 would still be useful, anything less than that would be a waste. Of course OB10 will always be the best.
You need to go ahead and get the shop first. It will help you in getting enough money for the cave.
Thanks!!!
It doesn't work well 😅
Great background video to let run while I work, I love this game but I’m too busy to ever play more than an hour or so at night, so playthrough videos like this really help scratch the itch lol happy building, brother 🔧
Thanks! I love a variety of games and this is different than most of what I have been playing lately so o never know how things will do. I really do enjoy this game. Not getting a whole lot of playtime currently with teaching back in full swing. I do appreciate the comment!
You haven't actually missed out on the Sword of Malice. You can go back at any time and work at the shop until someone sells it. You want to sell any armor to that guy in Bonmalano until you have access to Endor. He pays more than the regular shops most of the time, and MUCH more some of the time. Find out what it sells for at a regular shop, and never take an offer that's less. Even once you have access to Endor, he's still the best place to sell most types of armor. This chapter is all about the Benjamins, so you want to accumulate wealth as rapidly as possible. Nope, you'll never lose your gold by dying in this chapter because you have the Iron Safe! Not to worry, there are quests that get you there pretty quickly. Make sure to talk to everyone in the castle now that you've talked to the King and inquired about the shop. One of said quests becomes available. There's two people you can hire. One has magic, and one is a soldier, so absolutely look for both in Endor before venturing on. Hint for the end of this chapter ( which isn't purchasing the shop. There's more after ) is that you'll be able to get the most expensive stuff in the chapter from monster drops, so you can load up with it that way, and then dump all your gold into Casino tokens in Endor. You're eventually going to want to gamble in the final chapter, trust me. LOL The casino tokens are prohibitively expensive in this chapter, but at the end, you have absolutely nothing better to spend your likely abundant cash on.
Good to know. Getting ready to start my next recording. Thank you for all the tips you have provided over these playthroughs.
That’s Yuffie, not Lucia
Yup, realized my mistake later and forgot to go back and edit that. Good catch!
@@Iggy010 thanks
Now this chapter is completely novel. It's all about the Benjamins! You can sell your lunch every day. It's a healing item, but you don't need them while you're tending shop. The day does eventually end and you'll get paid for all the business that day. You'll want to do a few days, as tedious as it is. Wait for someone to sell you the Sword of Malice when you're working the shop, then leave and buy it. Gets you an awesome weapon with an AOE. If you keep working once someone sells it, someone will come along and buy it. If you don't have the gold yet, it at least bumps up your commission so the next time it pops up you can afford it. There's a reason enemies are dropping such advanced equipment. For now, you can just sell it, but once you've made it to Endor, you'll have much better options.
Too bad I missed out on the sword of malice, but oh well. Live and learn!
I am also holding for tifa. I deffo want that outfit I don’t care what it does lol. And I wanna see what aerith brings cause I don’t want to miss a kamura type of thing.
That is exactly how I feel about tifas. I also agree about Aeriths. All her utility outfits seem to be amazing.
@@Iggy010 @AJML343 and as for Yuffie?
@kahreeedwards, I honestly don't use Yuffie a whole lot outside of some niche moments, or the battle tower that she is used in. If her stuff is good I will consider pulling on it. I use Aerith a ton and Tifa quite a bit.
@@Iggy010 ok
@@kahreeedwards same as iggy. If the anni weapon brings some aoe party buff I may consider
