Beginning of the game Arthur is supposed to show us what he was like back in the gang's heyday. A ruthless, unrivaled, and ungovernable killer who takes, says, and does what he pleases. We need to be shown reason to believe the $5000 bounty on his head across several states. He only mellows out as the game goes on for obvious reasons.
