It's a MK 7.5 It's just a refreshed. The second refresh since 2019. It did not go MK 8 like the Golf GTI.

...i have exactly what you're talking about. the alltrack. they made it for three years then just dropped it. it's a golf, just a little more wagon-y, and built a little more offroad. its like a golf + an outback had a baby.

The GLI is underrated all around. I like the MK7.5 as well but the front is looking better now. Same 2.0L turbo, same everything from the previous model but with a refresh. I don't reeally like the rear, I think the previous one was looking better. That being said put your GLI on a dyno and you will see that VW never been clean with their numbers lmao. They say the GLI is 228hp but the dyno says 258hp.

The Mk7 was even more boring and generic looking than the Mk6 which was an achievement. This 7.5 is a significant improvement, and I think it’s on par with the Mk8 Golf. That’s cool because Jetta has always looked worse than the Golf, except for the Mk4 (by a slim margin) and possibly also the Mk2.

Based on a couple of comments, I’d like to clear some info up! The Phaeton was made in a different factory than the Audi A8 L, plus it was built on a totally different platform. The Phaeton is more closely related to the Bentley Continental GT and the Flying Spur. Though this is the case, both the Audi A8 L and the Phaeton are W12 powered limo-sized sedans. They weren't built alongside the A8, and they are not the same car. A8 is an aluminum platform compared to the Pheaton's steel, among many other differences. The Pheaton did indeed share the platform with another car and that was the Bentley.
