First time on track with my 2008 Toyota Vitz RS TRD Turbo M. Only things changed are the rims to 15inch with Continental ECS and SRF brake fluid. Was presently surprised with how quick the car can be while it's stock. Surprising that it would be able to do a 1:29.0 lap as is. Garmin Virb Ultra 30, a well designed but discontinued sports cam. My units' battery bulged and GPS reception is much weaker than before. And their edit software was really advanced at that time.
@@GT6only it's too bad the edit software at this moment has been bricked. Can't set start and finish cause the java part of the map is broken.

Man you are cooking. Was at the ridge today and my best was a 1:53.03 with my “optimal lap” being in the 1:51 range…it’s great seeing your line. I own the same car in black.

Nice lap looks like you know the car well. (Excellent as it’s not your normal car) but yeah the car In sport plus on track is a bad. Besides not being fun. Severe understeer and stability kicking fast making car weird if it senses any oversteer. The second item if you noticed you prob had no electric motor assist after two laps as battery drains as it give full boost all the time vs saving for when it matters in track mode. Cup2s (not sure which variation you were using) work great on the car though. Very curious what owner normally runs?

any engine mods at all other than exhaust? also did u have to do any cooling for transmission, or diff? I've run a mustang up there for a few years and might switch platforms. Im giving the 86 or the brz some consideration
No engine mods other than the exhaust for this video. Didn't have any cooling for the transmission or diff and don't notice any problems. I've been very impressed by the new gr86 for a brand new car that is under 40k.

Why is the start/finish point recorded way after the bridge?
Sometimes my Garmin virb doesn't like to play nicely with the satellites. 1:51.770 is the transponder time from GTA and also my aim solo that's shown. The overlay in this video is from my Garmin Virb.

Nice time with that car! You said you went back to the Endless ME20 on the front, how much do you like those? And what do you use on the back? I'm considering trying the ME20 on the front of my new A90 GR Supra, but still deciding. Also not sure if I want to go with same pad compound for rear or go less aggressive. Seems most guys that track the Supra go with a less aggressive pad on the rear. Any feedback would be appreciated.

@@edwardgtxy high speed braking was stable for me. The alignment isn't anything special cause it's just a stock car with shims to try and get more camber.

Did you stiffen up the rear to compensate for the bigger wing? What do you use the adjustable arms for?
I don't believe they stiffen up the rear. I just only took the car out and did 1 hot lap. The potential for this platform is gonna be pretty high even with just a stock motor.
@@Kodamu hmmm. I'm not an expert, but wouldn't adding a wing without a stiffer rear cause understeer? Were you able to rotate the car like stock?
@@404nobrakes after driving the car. Made a suggestion that it had too much front camber. But yes you would want to have a stiffer rear if you do add a wing. But to be frank, the size of this wing I don't think it would produce that much downforce on the rear.
