Man, that dinosaur sweater is so cool...looks like it wouldn't fit me, but I would have such a hard time getting rid of it if I got it in my box! 😅 Would love to see what you kept for yourself too!

I'm into Japanese fashion--mostly lolita and street wear--but I own a kimono and I know a little bit about them. I'm sorry to tell you, the one you have there is made of thin material with a self belt, which means it is loungewear or spawear and probably mass produced. If it's 100% silk you might be able to get 30+ for it (and then there are weebs, but weebs are getting better at telling the difference between 'any kimono' and the ones people wear to festivals, to visit shrines, to attend cultural events or go on fancy dates. Any yukata ('casual" kimono) that's intended to be worn outside will be made of a thicker fabric and worn with a separate belt made from contrasting fabric. Also, kimono are still being mass-produced, and the expensive ones are very fancy, very old, or both. I own a very mid-range festival type yukata that came from Nissen, which is a Japanese Target equivalent--and even better, it's plus size, because I am. It's appropriate for going nice places -- festivals, visiting shrines -- but it's a traditional outfit, not a super formal or expensive one. It still set me back a couple hundred with the shoes and special underwear and belt, not to mention the accessories, because it is a traditional style even though it was produced in a factory. However the one you have isn't designed to be worn with a kimono slip and a fancy belt. But the ones in gift shops, or the ones you can get from Shein, look more like what I saw there. I will say that at DreamV (the Overbrand for several Japanese fast fashion lines) there are also some less expensive ones, but they are short with ruffles (to be worn in a wa-lolita style) or have licenced Disney princess prints on them, although sometimes the actual true lolita brands do a kimono that is very expensive. (Angelic Pretty has made a few). If you get your hands on one of those--even the cutesy ones, but AP is a Japanese bolo for sure--then you could get a bit for that, although some young people here in America think it's cultural appropriation to wear them even when they have Cinderella prints on them and were sold for $60 dollars worth of yen to anyone who knows how to use the DreamV website. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I worked in hospitals for nearly 30 years. That Trina Turk top isn't a scrub top. The neckline's too low and it's probably not (as scrubs are required to be) made of material you can throw in a machine on the hottest setting and tumble dry.

My boxes have been the same lately, very consistent and a lot of bread and butter brands with a few gems in them as well. I usually only donate a few items out of my 50 lbs because if I get a lot of Old Navy or Gap etc, I will lot them up in bundles and sell them that way.

I’d love to see in 60-90 days how many of these you’ve sold and for how much! I don’t sell any of these brands so I’m super curious!!

I ordered one box last year and got some decent bags as well, I got a Rebecca Minkoff burgandy bag with extra tassels and a shoulder strap all in excellent shape (it hasn't sold yet! 😂) but I love it and might end up using it for myself. Two bags sold between $20 to $49 this year and one sold for $23 last year.

Just watched another of your ThredUp box openings and it was fantastic. I opened a new one yesterday and was so disappointed. Again! The best was an old Madewell silk dress that I’ll try and sell for $26 but basically it was all Loft and Banana Republic in S and XS and XXS. I watched another RUclips opening and she had great brands from Vuori to Everlane to Boden. And more. I seriously think ThredUp gives better boxes to RUclipsrs cause this is the third terrible box I’ve gotten. But what’s pathetic is I’ll probably order again cause I keep seeing you guys get great items. Regardless, I’m glad your boxes are good.

I haven’t seen a ThredUp box available all week. Except for kids shoes. Is it just me? lol

I have been getting the most gosh awful boxes lately. Got a shoe box yesterday and have maybe two pairs that I can sell for $30. I wrote ThredUp and complained and asked for a refund (lol) but haven’t heard back. When I see other people getting good boxes I think I must have a too negative mindset and so am reaping what I think. Also was thinking maybe it’s due to the fiscal end of the year thing.

Do you have any buy sell trade near you that some of the donates could go? I recently took an bag to my BST near me and they took a decent chunk of it and I didn’t have to take the time to list the h&m, old navy, and forever 21.

I love the dress you got for yourself! Cute denim jacket. I never find good t-shirts in any of the thrift stores around me. I'm really looking for some good oversized ones, and can never find anything in the women's or men's sections. I did finally find one a couple weeks ago. It's Ghostbusters and it's awesome, so I'm excited about that, but I'm definitely on the lookout for more. Oh my gosh, I LOVE that Free People dress! You found some really great stuff!!!

Your positivity about the items in the box, even the ones that don’t sell well or are flawed is refreshing to see as a fellow reseller. I love ordering from ThredUp and love watching these kinds of videos. But SO many of the people I watch are looking for only things they can sell for at least $30 and complain about what’s in the box. So your videos are a nice change. :)
