Maybe a couple formed and they had a kid, and one of the side plots is about them raising their kid. Another side plot could be a warlock and his relationship with his patron outside the battlefield. Maybe one is a wizard who starts teaching, and a paladin who is struggling with being oathbroken because he's tired of all the death that comes with his oath. Honestly, here are a lot of things you can do with this lol
