This episode is the worst and it's the second time SW gets a 0/10 from me. To do this, the most important point must be realized: The plot of the show not only contradicts canon or lore, but also itself. So I won't have mercy. I have to admit, it was funny seeing a Wookiee with a metal detector searching for a vergence. Meanwhile, Qui-Gon sensed a vergence through the Force. This is just dumb-who came up with this? Are these Jedi or some other organization that doesn’t use the Force but is obsessed with it? And what is a vergence? Well, it’s a natural concentration of the Force. An example would be the cave on Dagobah. Anakin, being created by the Force, is also a vergence. That giant hole in Acolyte is clearly a vergence. The Great Hyperspace Disaster is mentioned, which is a reference to the Nihils. Imagine a group of anarchists taking over a ship, planting explosives, and then detonating it while it’s in hyperspace. The explosion causes it to collide with other ships, and pieces randomly emerge on the surfaces of planets. Hyperspace routes were completely blocked off for safety, and the war with the Nihils was humiliating for the Jedi because the Nihils knew paths that the Jedi and the Republic didn’t. This allowed the Nihils to move and wage war freely, while their enemies had to be cautious to avoid dying in hyperspace. Torbin is a genius: He wants to go home > Indara tells him they’ll go home but need to be patient (because logically, their mission is over) > Torbin decides that kidnapping girls, for some reason, is a better way to get home > This leads to everything > He kills himself in the end. And here’s the most important point: He’s not a character; he’s just a plot device to move the story forward. And in this case, it’s even worse-a device that exists so the plot can happen at all. Let me ask a question that has no answer: Why did Torbin react in this particular way? The truth is, we don’t even know his personality. 26:50 Aniseya literally tortured Torbin. A pacifist... decided to turn into a demon next to Jedi and thought they wouldn’t see that as a threat. I didn’t expect that she wanted to die so badly, but I get it-this episode tested my patience too. :) And then she says, “I was going to let Osha go." So, are we supposed to understand that she realized she was an idiot at the moment of her death and that she made a mistake and Jedii are good? Because no one would let their daughter go with someone who tried and literally succeeded in killing you-taking your life and your child’s parent away. Best redemption ever, I forgive her. (Now I get the actress: "My character is a strong leader yes, yes"-what else was she supposed to say?) The fight with the Wookiee is cool. Wookiees consider using their claws in combat to be dishonorable and shameful, which is why he chose to live in isolation. 29:39 This is a Matrix reference because that actress is known for that universe. I don’t know much about the Matrix, but I know that if you escape Matrix, you die. All I’ll say in this case: Is this the Matrix or Star Wars? The only person who could literally kill your consciousness/identity was Valkorion, the most powerful Sith. (Only him.) How? This is some random Jedi... I’m not saying it has to be the exact same power, but the effect is identical - "mind battle" and death. The only thing missing was Indara literally transferring her consciousness into the bodies of those witches. And that's just because they wanted to refer to Matrix. But again in SW logic-they died because they had to for the plot. 30:05 Sol: I used to consider him a broken sage; now he’s just a broken idiot. He had time to think about what to do. He could have saved them both-he lifted huge metal structures, but he couldn’t lift two girls? And you could say he’s fixated on Osha, but my question is: Why? Why is he so determined to have her as his Padawan? Why Osha? Why didn’t the Jedi Council assign him a Padawan? Did the Council know? He’s extremely attached to Osha, whom he didn’t even know. He's fixated on her for no reason And now I will tell you my honest first association: Sol literally made me anxious because he was so fixated on, well, child. Again, it’s the same rule: It had to happen this way, and no one looked at how it was done. My suggestion: Sol lost someone, maybe he had a younger sister in the Order, and Osha reminds him of her-that would make more sense, and I wouldn’t have such a disturbing impression-I’d understand the character and his fixation. I would even add an option where he doesn't even try to save Mae. (But despite that, he and Qimir are still the only strength of this show.) I also wonder why Mae didn't tell her sister about all of this in episode 5. Amnesia or what? The only thing I'll say The Old Republic "Disorder" trailer is exactly what Acolyte should have given us-a proper villainization of the Jedi, even a proper questioning and discouragement of their idea. I won't provide more examples, but trust me, I could go on forever, especially when it comes to the Old Republic. In this situation, it could have been simple: The witches demand Jedi leave > Jedi refuse > witches accept this and show that they are peaceful > Jedi, seeing the dark side as incompatible with their morality, decide to intervene, escalating the situation. (Maybe they try to arrest the leader, maybe they want to rescue the children, maybe even something else.)

I'll start by saying that this episode should not have been placed as Episode 3-it completely disrupts the narrative. It should have been either Episode 1, or fragments of the past should have been gradually revealed through dialogue or short flashbacks. Additionally, I will say that literally before this episode, there was an interview with George Lucas where he literally said that Disney doesn't understand the Force. Well... ironic. Now for the damage control regarding the lore after this catastrophic episode: Osha and Mae Have No Father-Just Like Anakin This is a minor detail, but it undermines Anakin's visual symbolism as the Chosen One who had no father, with the Force itself being his "father"-a symbol. (This is acceptable, though.) (And to emphasize: Anakin was created by the Force. The twins were created by someone who used the Force.) Personaly I can accept it. Creating Life with the Force - Do Sith make sense? This is unforgivable because it literally destroys the meaning of the Sith's existence and diminishes their significance. Darth Plagueis was supposed to be the first to discover this secret, but even he couldn't do it. His ultimate goal was to create the Sithari-an ideal Sith, let's say, the chosen one of the dark side. The Force resisted him, so he failed to create life, and additionally, the Force, in response to these experiments, created Anakin. Yet, during this time, random witches are creating life before the Sith even discovered it was possible. The Force doesn't resist them, there’s no Chosen One or anything. It just lets them do it. Now let’s take this logic further because the deeper you go, the more destructive it becomes. If Osha and Mae are supposed to symbolize balance (Osha as light, Mae as darkness) and were created in harmony with the Force, it shows that the entire Sith Code about breaking limitations makes no sense because the Sith impose these limitations on themselves and desperately try to break them by imposing even more limitations. Meanwhile, if you act in harmony or don't disrupt the balance, you can literally do anything-no limitations. I shouldn't have a chance to think this far, but based on what I’ve seen, I have strong arguments, and I can question the sense of the Sith's existence. So, I’ll summarize with this question: Were the Sith always idiots, according to this director? That is the problem! Throw the Entire Third Season of Bad Batch Out? And Does That Make Anakin an Idiot? (Bad Bach spoilers if you dont watch skip that) Why did Palpatine need all of that? If random witches knew this ability, then it became normalized, and someone else could have known it too. Additionally, something could have remained from their culture-valuable information. Instead of using Hemlock, Palpatine could have played archaeologist or alchemist. His master knew this secret but deliberately didn't tell him everything; however, Palpatine knew it was possible, so he knew he could reach it. (Well, let’s say the only saving grace could be the logic: "I don’t have this knowledge yet, so Hemlock, do what I told you." It makes a bit of sense. Or he was convinced that with Hemlock he would achieve identical success. It’s a stretch, but it can be accepted.) Additionally, this knowledge was used to manipulate Anakin to the dark side. If Anakin had known about the witches, well, there would be no Vader. "Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying." - Palpatine The only thing that saves us is that Anakin wasn’t a master, and the knowledge about these witches might have been in places only Jedi Masters had access to. So, I guess that’s defended. If they wanted to create something truly unique and interesting with these twins, I suggest exploring the concept of a Force Guardian-probably the rarest thing in legends. In this scenario, the twins would actually be triplets, but one of them wouldn’t have been born. However, the soul would be strong enough for consciousness to survive within the sisters bodies. The Guardian could subconsciously assist them and create visions where they manifest in some form. There are many options with that concept. This would also deepen the concept of the Force Dyad, as a torn soul would seeks to reunite with its other half. (These individuals have white eyes and appear to be blind, but they are not.) There would be no controversy and no breaking of SW lore or simple logic. And as for the witches, and I'm sorry but I have to say I called them a coven of bitches. They were horrible, used violence, intimidation, tortured Torbin, and even with Osha and Mae, they applied a philosophy of fear. Was I supposed to be sad that they died? No. I was happy when I found out they were all dead because they deserved it. I have the impression that the director unintentionally subjected them (and Mae) to gigantic dehumanization. (The goal of The Acolyte was to show that the Jedi path isn’t always the righteous one and can sometimes even be immoral. There was supposed to be an alternatives, but the witches definitely aren't it.) My suggestion: Don’t show someone you want me to sympathize with as evil… Let it be a normal day for Mae and Osha with their family, with no philosophy of fear. It’s so simple to make a character evoke sympathy… Even if they’re using the dark side, just have them encourage action through passion, emotions instead of fear. (This is an example of humanizing the dark side.) You know what I'll give you 1 short film with Vaylin from Old Republic which in my opinion is the best written character. I just finished all of your reactions to X-Men 97 GREAT JOB! Not only is the show great and the writing amazing, but when you watch the entire season over again u see how early episodes had easter eggs in dialogue that came up again later. I don't know what the process was in making this show but Marvel should use the same process for EVERYTHING from now on.

The team really is gonna have to pull together to win. If you go back and rewatch the show, the villain Bastion is in every episode except 1x03.
