Everyone seems to forget that Kevin Costner character was a back stabbing snake who betrayed his friend by slapping with his wife.

Madeline Stowe was perfectly cast in this movie "Revenge." She was also great as the wife of Mel Gibson's character in "Once We Were Soldiers." However, in "The Last of the Mohicans" movie she was totally miscast for that part. Madeline Stowe, and her husband, actor Brian Benben, live on a ranch located west of Austin, Texas.

I've seen this movie a handful of times and each time after the first time, it is hard for me to finish the whole movie because I know how it ends. This is the story of forbidden love. I know they were wrong to fall in love but you cannot prevent love from happening. Costner and Stowe are magnificent in this movie. Madeline Stowe's beauty and sexy appeal, as well as Kevin Costner's leading man stature are in full display. May we be so lucky as to fall in love this way someday. This is by far one of my three favorite love story movies of all time.. the other two being The Notebook and Titanic.

Tristan lusted over her. He didn't love her, thus left her and refused to marry her. I wished she had actually loved the honorable older brother, who really loved and cared for her.

Susannah had lost her parents and although educated she was alone. Her love for Samuel was innocent. You can't judge these people by today's standards they were exposed to nothing. She arrived in the middle of no where to a house of men and found herself surrounded by masculinity - the most powerful was Tristan. Yes, she immediately was intoxicated and he most likely had never met such a beautiful refined woman. After the war and the dreadful loss they were destined to come together in passion, grief and primal longing. If she had become pregnant it would have been different but she did not and he fled due to his wish for freedom and guilt about his dead brother. In the same sense, in her later relationship with Arthur out of need, companionship and security ; Susannah's biggest tragedy was not the loss of Tristan but her inability to have children. If she had been able to raise children with Arthur she would have found peace.
