Beach Boys Barbara Ann Parody: Bomb Iraq by Capitol Steps (1997)
Great parody (at least from a musical point of view).
It's from the album Sixteen Scandals released in 1997, and spread during the early days of the internet. This song is still often mistakenly attributed to Weird Al Yankovic which hints at it's origin and spread: incorrectly named MP3 files shared on P2P networks.
Background: The song is about the first Gulf War 1990-1991 with former US President Bill Clinton singing with the then Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. After Iraq invaded Kuwait, US with 30 nations (including Iraq's neighbors) led a highly successful aerial campaign followed by a short ground offensive. More info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_War

Actually the song isn't about the first PGW at all. Bill Clinton wasn't in office until 1993, he won the '92 election in 1992. This was about when he launched some missile and bomber attacks on Iraq in 1996 when Saddam was playing games with weapon inspections.
Song name: Bomb Iraq by Rusty Humphries
Still revelant in 2024 💣🇮🇷🇮🇶

Corrected lyrics (OP Please update description) Hussein: O wella Kurd Kurd Kurd Kurd is the word O wella Kurd Kurd Kurd Kurd is the word O wella Kurd... (cut in) Clinton: Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iraq Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iraq (continue in background) Lets bomb Iraq Yeah, lets attack! That maniac So now my missiles are a-cruising Hussein: Giving me a bruising in Iraq Clinton: Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iraq Hussein: Send home your plane Clinton: I'm feeling your pain Hussein: To mess with you in an election year I had to be insane Both: Bomb Iraq! Bomb bomb bomb bomb Iraq Clinton: Yeah Lets bomb Iraq I'm gonna to do just like my poll says Do what Robert Dole says Hussein: In Iraq Both: Bomb bomb bomb bomb Iraq Hussein: What will you do The day that I'm through? Clinton: I'll bomb another country that is nastier than you Both: Bomb Iraq Lets bomb Iraq Clinton: Cause I'm so damned if i do Hussein: "Saddam"ed if you don't Both: Bomb Iraq bomb bomb bomb bomb Ka-boom!!!
After "I'll bomb another country that is nastier than you", they're singing "bomb Iran, let's bomb Iran", not Iraq.
More relevant for the next step :) Now more than ever
"I'm gonna do this like my poll says" "Do what Robert Dole says!" "In Iraq" Is how the lyrics should read there; just fyi
Ryan Williams like my "paw" says - Texas slang for father
@@soupit32 Incorrect. It's Poll. It rhymes with Dole. William Jefferson Blythe Jr. (father of President Bill Clinton) died 3 months before Bill was born. "paw" makes no sense.
@@goldjd1 touché
So damn insane.
Still relevant after 16 years. Politics has slow progression...
