CGS Mod9 Tabletop review with modeling
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.Год назад
The CGS Group Mod9 is a can that has been very nostalgic for me. It utilizes a baffle that for its time was forward thinking yet simple. Its accomplished more with less. It is one of the first cans I am aware of that Really Tried to incorporate more thought on how booster pistons should interact with the incidence gasses to increase suppression and something I've played with heavily. Thank you
Ok leave all questions to the end, barrels are to long well most. Thanks anyways
Can you thread barrels with this size lathe?

Dunce - Cosmoline does not contain lapping compound.
I run LMT stuff. Every and any issue is basically solved with use of either partial or full flo thru cans. I use an rc3, and a knights qdc, and never needed to change buffers or spring weights.
Just got my Polonium out of jail and have the Atlas XL with Q cherry bomb on my 5.56 rifles. Ive noticed before ive even shot that if i crank down on the hand tight to the muzzle device, the QD will stay on when i unscrew the can. Suggestions???
@@320epdmk u shouldnt be cranking down on that joint. Its like over tightening the lig nuts on your car. The threads stretching puting more force on the taper requiring a multiplication of effort to get it back off. Finger tight is all it takes to properly tighten an atlas. That said rockset or locktight the mount to the can should insure the mount never backs off during normal use cases

What is the NAME of these new attachments???
Get in shape host.
Do different muzzle devices change the tone of silencers?
@@colbyc.6698 they can yea and they deff play a part in the flow characteristics and therefore can either positively or negatively change how a can sounds (loudness)
Thanks for the reply
My God. You sure can waste time.
Closer to an A1 flash hider than an A2.
Had any issue with the ht galling like dead air claims?
@@timb7397 keeping the taper clean (wipe it off with the end of of ur shirt or a rag periodically when u remove the can) helps make sure u always get a proper seal. U can also run a small thin layer of antisieze on the taper as good habit say every time u clean the rifle also do that.
I just got mine today. Man, that back plug is tight, and they do not include a tool to take it off so you can swap pistons or put a spacer in it. (Could not find one on their website either) - Basically had to get pliers after it. I think I read the Rugged tool fits it, so I will likely order one of those, or at least one of the third party made ones. Everything else looked good with it. Hopefully I will get to do a desk pop with it tomorrow.
@@44Mag should have been a little silver looking slug of metal
@@silencerstudent9381 Yes, it came with that tool, and it is used to take the front cap off. The tool does not work to remove the blast chamber. For that, you have to either use pliers, or buy a tool to fit it.
2 years later, most are still out of stock.
@@ICanDoItMyself they sell that many. U can find them anywhere
Any ideas what would be a good bcg for a 11.5 ?
Just go with any mid to high end bcg. Id run a midlength gas system
@silencerstudent9381 it's a carbine 11.5 , super duty by geissele
I think LMT finally released the material for the bolt, I recall reading somewhere that its Aeromet. The bolt lug they removed is supposed to load balance the rest of the lugs. Its generally understood that the lugs that fail most often are the ones neighboring the extractor. By removing that one lug opposite those two, it supposedly reduces the stress on them exponentially. For me, due to the proprietary nature of their bolt, I opted to just buy the carrier only, and install a Colt bolt. Extractors are wear items as are the springs, and not being able to easily replace those is more concerning to me, as I will likely need to replace an extractor sooner than the entire bolt itself. And if one is worried about the extractor spring itself failing, you can use an upgraded Sprinco that has a much longer cycle life. NOTE:: chrome Sprinco silicon springs need lubrication as they are not as corrosion resistant as stainless, without lubrication they can fail prematurely in wet/salty environments, just lube your gun like you should be doing anyway and it will be fine. Also Leitner Wise has now released their carrier I think. (Paul Leitner Weise is the LW of LWRC as I understand it, no longer affiliated.)
I've got a 12.5 aero upper with a 12.7 handguard. The inner diameter is 1.2 . When I measured from where the barrel threads start to the end of the hanguad is 7/8. Would the XL Atlas sit down inside the handguard enough to run a lahar 30 ?
Have a quick question, looking to suppress a Glock 19 came down to these conclusions. RS9 (or RSP if I can find one), Omega 9k (readily available), or wait to see data from CAT Street Crack. Thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated!
Rsp might be hard to find as they are working on a gen2 right now. Cat has some things that are coming to lights about manufacturing but generally proven they can hit the sound performance one would also be looking for so deff in the conversation for a great choice as well. Can’t say if honestly recommend anything else
@@silencerstudent9381 So from your experience either try for a RS9 or wait for Street Crack? Im fine with either of those Ive just been considering the Omega bc I haven’t heard anything bad about it, it just isn’t as quiet as its competitors.

Certifying for a Polonium 30. Interesting how this podcast was nearly its inception. I am totally stoked. What a couple of cool fellas! Best of luck of your future endeavors- I will definitely be watching for your new products
On rearden what is the difference in options for 25degree taper square or face?
Tapered barrel shoulder or square shoulder
Years ago when I built my 300 BLK I put an AAC 51T Brakeout on it as I wasn't ready to put myself an an NFA list. Now that I'm ready, AAC 51T is obsolete! Dang! Thanks for some great info.
Thanks for sharing!
This did not help me remove my stuck brake. But, I appreciate your box of mounts.
Debating a rearden xl or a dead air xeno on my A-10 warthog 5.56 can
Do you know if the Rearden XL is usable with silencer co breaks ?
Any recommendation on a mount for precision rifle with Diligent defense enticer S? 6.5cm, dedicated suppressor but will be removed each time to fit in range bag lol. Can't decide if direct thread or taper qd mount would be better. And which rearden or LPM brakes best?
Can you work on your own can or do you have to send it to an FFL07? I really want to lighten and recore a cheap, heavy radical Firearms can that sounds horrible.
I've been looking at jail breaking a couple cans through them. I wanted to send in a Radical Firearms can but I guess they won't work on RF cans.
Where's the enticer S video you said to watch? I don't see it in your channel
Aren't the Sharp XPB supposed to be incredible too?
The LMT enhanced bcg cam path is longer in the straight part to allow more residual gas pressure to decrease before un-locking..The down side is these enhanced carriers will not run as reliable in the rifle system gas tube which is why the military rejected them..For short gas systems like the carbine length gas tube they work as designed..Jim Sullivan discussed this in his interview for Small Arms Review..He incorporated a longer/straight cut in the cam path for the Stoner 63 for this exact same reason....
Absolutely PHENOMENAL video man ! Thanks for this one. Now I know exactly what I want to order for my new Ventum 762. Thanks
I just ordered the Enticer L in stainless steel. I’m hoping it’s not too heavy for my .308 bolt gun or AR. Lol! What do you guys think? Love your content sir!! Please keep it up!!

Are you supposed to align each cone with the cutouts in the same place? Mine throws all over the place? I shot it twice and my tube is completely carbon locked to the pistol housing. I can take the piston out but can’t unscrew the tube from housing. Do you have any recommendations?
ya but if u cant its not end of the world
What does the double clipped do? Or how does it benefit?
mainly changes the flow rate in the can, which if a can is choked off it will suddenly help and give a positive result but if the original single was correct then it will increase it too much and have a negative result.
Can,t continue watching with chuck key let in and playing with the controls and bouncing metal of the ways is this guy qualified ?
if it was a 2hp plus machine i would care
As a retired machinist a big NoNo is leaving chuck key in chuck !
Caveat to the caliber. That's actually a minimum, but not the maximum. If it's marked 9mm, the bore of the suppressor has to be a minimum of 9mm, but there's nothing saying it can't be 10mm, for example.
How is the visual signature between the Hydrogen and the Polonium considering the difference between titanium and steel? How much more quiet is the Polonium K vs the Hydrogen K on a 13.7" - 14.5" 5.56? 2-3 decibels maybe?
pewscience recently did some testing on hydrogen that should help you make a decision
Just put two Otter Creek Lab cans in jail. I've been looking at OD mount and was leaning towards Deadair Keymo, Keymicro, and xeno. This just changes my mind and will look into Rearden. Great info on all OD mounts.
Good choice!
