It's absolutely true. You have to fail, or simply know who your competition is going to be and understand who's going to beat you before you can ever be on top. At that point, you will know what it's going to take to either get to the top or remain on top, if possible.

Good stuff Brent - keen to see you work on a video series as there aren't many of these from an Australian perspective. Lots in the US but definitely an opportunity here :). One note is that the audio is a bit hard to hear, maybe becuase you are far from the mic?

To me, aim point is exactly that, finding the starting point, or line, when the putter strikes the ball. Whether you plumb bob, or use finger width to gauge the amount of break, which most golfers don't play enough of, recognizing uphill/downhill based on grain and stroking the ball on the line you chose with proper speed are what separates the really good scorers from everyone else. Half the strokes in a round of golf, or more, are made with one club, the putter.
