I must be a dumbass because i had to watch this video twice to even get an idea of whats going on. If my guess is right then the "Gloom Attack Resist" bonus is LITERALLY JUST a fourth gloom heart?

The gloom armor is some crappy ass armor

I always assumed the gloom attack resist removed maybe 3 or 4 hearts of damage taken. So if a (depths) lynel normally does 8 gloom hearts of damage, with the full set it does 5 or so hearts (even with the same armor value). But I never tested it

It is rather sad knowing that the Depths armor set only really offers you resistance from walking on Gloom, or being grabbed by one of the Gloom Spawn hands.

Yeah I was really confused by the set bonus as well. It's still really good against Frox and enemy camps though.

I actually have been keeping my depths dark, It's super spooky and I kinda don't wanna lose that feeling. One of the spookier Zelda games imo.

EDITOR’S NOTE: On 7:33, I highlighted a number while speaking about weapon durability. To correct myself, this numerical rating refers to the weapon’s attack power NOT durability rating. Every weapon, bow, and shield has a hidden base durability. I apologize for this error.

I do think that this video is extremely well made and informative, but I do have a couple of particular gripes for feedback; My biggest gripe is that during the discussion of Durability, while the information is all correct, at 7:33 focus is put on the weapon attack value (with a zoom into and a highlight around the number "11"), while also simultaneously referring to the durability value of the weapon during the voiceover. If this is truly meant for the base level beginner that also needs help with controls, then this error can quite easily confer the idea that the listed attack value is the durability value. This is false, and durability is, frustratingly, kept hidden from the player. My second gripe isnt so much about potential misinformation so much as, well... an important omission. The timing of flurry rush is important, but it's also important to dodge in the right direction. Enemies have horizontal and vertical attacks. if a bokoblin is making sweeping swings with a spear, dodging sideways will not only fail to trigger a flurry rush, but will also smack you over the head. in that instance, you would need to dodge backwards for a flurry rush. and I think that's important to know.

Additional tips: -DODGING: Pay attention to the direction of the enemy's attack. You're much more likely to avoid vertical or thrust attacks by sidestepping (side dodge), and much more likely to avoid horizontal attacks by backflipping (back dodge). Whether you get the timing right for a Flurry Rush or not, always try your best to dodge smart. -FLURRY RUSH: When you trigger a Flurry Rush, you can switch weapons before Link is able to do his FR combo. This is useful both in cases of executing a FR without an equipped weapon, and of switching to weapons with the Improved Flurry Rush ability to make the most of it while preserving their durability. -FLURRY RUSH: Pay close attention to the enemy's health bar during a Flurry Rush. If you kill the enemy before doing the entire FR combo, just stop pressing Y. No need to waste your durability on something that's already dead. -BOW AIMING: Seriously, just turn off motion control aiming the moment you start your playthrough. Don't torture yourself. -ARCHER TIME: You can consume stamina-replenishing food and/or elixirs during Archer Time. -SPRINT, CHARGE AND SLAM ATTACKS: If you press Y while sprinting, you'll end the sprint with a lunging attack. If you press Y in the air, you'll plunge to the ground and perform a slam attack which hits a wide circle around Link. If you hold Y while on the ground and not sprinting, you'll ready a charge attack which will release when you let go of Y; charge attacks are very strong but consume a lot of both stamina and durability. These attack types differ by the weapon you have equipped and all have their uses; alongside the standard combos, they're tools in your toolbox. -GEAR: While you should constantly think about which weapon/shield/bow is best for the situation, don't be afraid to just use your stuff and experiment with both Fusion and cooking. All gear, materials and Zonai Devices are infinitely renewable, you simply need you know where and how to get them. There's also a way to repair damaged weapons but I won't say what it is, it's a secret to everybody. -DURABILITY: The number each weapon has is its attack power (for shields, defensive power), not its durability. There are only two ways to see a weapon's durability: if it's at max, the weapon will have a little sparkle on it, and if it's badly damaged, the weapon will flash red. Edit: Also, a weapon being badly damaged doesn't mean it's guaranteed to break on the next hit. -DURABILITY: Fusing anything to a weapon or shield, not just high-power monster parts, gives the result a one-time durability boost. That said, some things you can fuse will break off well before the base weapon/shield breaks. -DURABILITY: When a melee weapon breaks on hit, that hit will deal 2x damage and, if possible, knockback/knockdown the enemy. You can use this to your advantage, especially with weapons with the Breaking Point ability. -MUDDLE BUDS: Sometimes the enemy AI will prioritize you even if there's a confused ally of theirs smacking them. For best results, confuse all enemies in a group.
