A huge problem is “prevention” like PDMP and law enforcement will end up causing the same harm that caused these deaths begin with. Notice not 1 penny has been spent on helping pain pts who have been abandoned and forced off opioids.

AA/NA/rehab are some of the biggest scams in the world. The whole industry is a scam at its very foundation. It keeps people in "addiction" for life so that they can continue to profit from it. Let me explain it like this: imagine you love taking trips to places all over the world. One day the government tells you you're banned from leaving the country and if you ever leave again and get caught theyre going to lock you in a cage and ruin your life. Do you: 1) go hang out at the airport every day with a bunch of other people who also were banned from leaving the country and also really want to, and you all just talk about leaving the country every day for the rest of your lives. 2) try to forget about it and move on with your life. "AA/rehab helps lots of people" No it doesnt. The people it "helps" end up with a lifelong struggle of suppressing their desires for other people instead of finding and healing the root cause. Its like constantly reopening a wound so that it never heals. Like everything else, it all boils down to money. There is a lot of money to be made by putting people in cages and requiring them to seek counseling from unqualified wannabe psychologists who don't know wtf they're talking about and are usually exceedingly narcissistic and power tripping.

Thats just your genetics. Like seriously have a good deep dive into that statement. Start by googling the leading causes of heart problems, then meth deaths vs other drugs. Then have a look at Western drug propaganda. Maybe check what kills the most. Spoiler alert: The top 5 are legal, and amphetamine eg adderall is way above methamphetamine. Wagwan.

One version is demonized, the other is sanctioned for children. They're the same thing.

Do you know how many people you have KILLED with this anti-opioid program? Did you know that proper, appropriate opioid pain relief is now being denied chronic, intractable, cancer, and surgical pain patients for no reason? Did you know that chronic and intractable pain patients are dying at record rates after being dumped off their medications because they can no longer care for themselves? Did you that hospitals are now denying proper, appropriate opioid pain relief, allowing patients to tremble, scream, and cry in the hospital bed, torturing them for no reason? Did you know that your LIES about opioids not being effective for chronic and intractable pain is TORTURING and KILLING people? YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES.

Have you ever been addicted Dr Lembke? You consider all patients on opioids as addicts no matter what they say. Even if it works you take it away. How do I live with intractable pain that hadn’t responded to mental therapies, physical therapy, injections, surgeries and forces me the patient to be bedridden. I take only 18mg a day and you want to take even THAT away from me. Loss of agency. More and more addicted. Addicted patients. Please please share your data with US!!

If you want to be an expert on addiction, by all means, preach the gospel of addiction treatment which is badly needed. But please stop vilifying opioids for pain, which are taken safely by tens of millions of people in the US every year and there's no dramatic increase in the number of people with addiction. The number is fairly stable, although changing substances. And thanks to people like you, and groups like PROP up to 5 million patients have been medically abandoned. Stop stigmatizing safe effective FDA-approved opioids.

How can you be destigmatizing when you act like anyone needing medication for pain is an addict? When in reality people that are addicts will choose their addiction regardless of what’s available to them to use. And there are people that safely and cautiously use their medication with fabulous short and long term results. This is so biased and acts on the assumption mentally well adults can’t think for or choose for themselves. Yes help addicts. AND recognize there is a huge population that aren’t and can safely treat their pain if only drs like you hadn’t tainted the patient pool assuming all people are addicts in waiting like you.
