09-21-2014 MRM V8 Miata @ PTT’s Mega Pocono Event-end of day
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.10 лет назад
This was an awesome day that in the end involved almost 280 on-track miles in about 5 hours of driving time. I was able to hit a top speed of about 133 mph which could have been higher if I had been more comfortable with hitting a banked turn at that speed. This is the very end of the day which finally gave me the opportunity to not be stuck behind folks who could not make me out in their rear ...

This was an awesome track day that in the end involved almost 280 on-track miles in about 5 hours of driving time. I was able to hit a top speed of about 133 mph which could have been higher if I had been more comfortable with hitting a banked turn at that speed (first time here). Precision Track Time put on an excellent event. I highly recommend them to anyone within distance of Pocono Raceway...

This is just a quick three minutes of my third session of the second day at Del-Val's 2014 Driving School. It was raining and this was the first session I had the guts to leave my Hankook RS3's back in the garage and try a wet session on a set of just worn in Nitto NT01's. They did great as you'll see as did the entire car. For this year I went from Hawk blue pads to black, reinstalled my stock...

This was the last Blue session of Monday. I'm running on a set of Toyo RA1 "scrubs" with Hawk Blue pads. The car is a 331 ci (5.4L) Ford powered V8 1994 Miata. The engine was built by Thomas McCully and the build was done by me, Jason McCully. I'm driving.

This is my first run of the day on Tuesday. I realized that morning that the new pavement on the NASCAR portion of the track "corded" one of my Toyo RA1's so I had to go out on my street Hankook RS3's. Prepare for a lot of tire squealing. July 17, 2012 - Pocono North course with Del-Val Miata Club - 1994 Miata with a Ford 5.4 liter V8 built by Thomas McCully of McCully Racing Motors in 2010. Ja...
“Why does your Miata sound so funny?”
you and your Dad have really done a nice job on your car. seems to be a very balanced package of engine, chassis and braking.
Cute video. Thanks for sharing.
awesome video to show a non trailhawk off road in. I got a 4x4 sport 2.4L this video gives me more confidence
Is this 4.438 axles?
This video is very funny if you think about the child's voice as the voice of the jeep renegade. It's like you are talking to your jeep and you go up the hill and the jeep is so excited to be driving up it. Great video. lol
what are you using for the data logging?
I used the Shadow Logger app for Android on my HTC One Mini which read my MegaSquirt II's data stream via a Bluetooth adapter and GPS data via a standalone GPS antenna (you can see it on the dash). Later I synced the data log to the GoPro video using RaceRender3 to make the actual video. The data on the lower right is manifold pressure, spark advance, injector duty cycle %, injector pulse widths in milliseconds, coolant temp and air intake temp in degrees Fahrenheit. The blue bar is throttle percentage. Thanks for watching.
Lose the music man! Ugh, beautiful miata though
I didn't build the Miata for the track. My GT500 would be a lot better choice for your education in road racing. As far as street racing, you have me confused with someone else.
Hey, you should bring your Toyota Miata out to Pocono with Del Val next year! I'd love to follow your much better engineered car around the track and learn from your line. Do you have any videos up I can look at to see how you'd handle the track? I saw some street racing videos (I can't do that because of the teacher thing) but I'm sure you've posted others in which you demonstrate YOUR far superior driving skills on an actual track, right?
It was easy. I built the car in under three weeks with nothing more than four jack stands and a set of hand tools. It was cheap too. I have just under $20K in it including the car itself.
Thanks!
Swapping in a 302 is "paint by numbers", so easy even a grade school teacher can do it. Try building something more challenging.
Not an insult, but an observation of facts. Payback for the nice "dick" moves you made on the forums.
Great video!
Great vid and great car! For me I would much prefer the cars sound track to the music. You can't beat that exhaust note in a Miata!
Sounds almost exactly like a Nascar. Handles better than a Nascar by miles and makes 125 look like 60. Well built, sir.
Nice, you managed to insult my driving, professionalism and employer all in one quick unprovoked post. Classy buddy.
I hope you teach better than you drive! Oh that's right, you work for the Allentown School District, it doesn't matter!
The car has a set manga low cats with an h pipe and Borla proxs mufflers. To get a little more sound at the track I had a set of one-inch bungs welded in right before the mufflers.
Only 125. I was still breaking in a new set of r-comps and did not want to take
Top Speed was . . . ?
Awesome!
Great sound Jason!!!
