Summit 2021 How to Survive and Thrive as a Cinema in Tomorrows Market

Individualizing each of your theatres. With the global pandemic ending, so is the way we have done business in the past. Last year, adding a full service bar, a restaurant or simply an expanded food selection worked as a cookie cutter formula in all of your theatres. During the Pandemic you may have tried a few different “tricks” and “creative marketing” to bring some of your customers in the d...

Summit 2021 Repurposing Cinema Space to Host Live Entertainment
Thanks so much!! I am going to a movie at smitty's with my friend, but i didn't know smitty's had that much!!
Very convenient tour to get a feeling of screening room size
Started in Plaistow NH but they had a chunkys
Somehow I wouldn't associate this type Theater with Waukee, Iowa. With that said Waukee must have done something right to attract this type of Theater.
Went to the one in Scottsdale and a very helpful gentleman helped me find my auditorium when I was a bit lost 😊😊
Really cool! Can't wait for the one coming to Tiffin, Iowa assuming it'll be similar to this. That way I only need to drive 40 minutes instead of 2 and a half hours. The last IMAX theater I went to was the Cineplex in Davenport which I felt wasn't worth the drive.
IMAX digital cropped aspect ratio.

Thank for the solars.
Now all you need is good movies and not the unbelievable crap coming out of Hollywood today. All the current movies Inal waiting for 4K Blu-ray and many of those I don’t even want on DVD. Currently having my new home theater built as I type this, a new building 25’x40’x12’. I will have 20’ screen running Auro-3D and Dolby Atmos sound. 25 channels and almost 15,000 watts of power, 3 rows of 7 reclining seats with usb chargers and tables, heated and or cooled cup holders, with butt kickers. 4 seats will have DBOX seating. All movies available without having to get up out of your seat and controlled & stored on my Zippitti players connected to a massive networked storage server that can hold up to 160 terabytes of movies plus the built in 8 more drives for another 160 terabytes of storage, currently have over 1,000 movies ripped and stored on the system. Working with a theater close by to get copies of movies as soon as they get the movie in for commercial theaters, as soon as I figure out the encryption they use. Movies has become to expensive to go to for a movie. For me it costs about 150.00 for 1 movie, then I have to take in the driving time, have to watch it when they are showing it, bad seating, and my car getting messed up or stolen. It made sense for me to build my own theater here in KC, SA being 56 miles away and simply finding the time to go was always hard for me. This way I can have my cake and eat it to. Yah so I have 90k invested, but I also have my investment and my son will get it all when it’s my time. I purchase all my movies, and while I May pirate them in the start I buy them in the end as soon as they are available and unlike the movie. If you don’t like the way a meal is prepared or is bad you get a refund at a restaurant, why not movies? Since they do not offer that option many times I will rip someone’s disk and play the movie, I like it I buy it, if not I delete it. The days of my family going to the movies is almost over, as soon as my new theater is finished I will rarely go to one again. My current theater is to small with only a 12’ screen and a 13.2.6 setup for sound, I want the best I can get.
This was painful to watch. Whoever at Marcus approved this video be released should be out of a job.
No architectural prizes here - interior or exterior! Believe it or not, such considerations could play a role in the demise of technologies like IMAX. It's all about guest experience and being part of something special - and the bunker-slab somehow doesn't inspire that.
The Margins are tight at this point but down the line they could do exterior work and interior work.
Should have shown the projection rooms.
I was a protectionist. Most booths these days are simply small closets, because most are digital and don't require the human touch. Ones that actually still have active protectionist are usually art house theaters. I miss 70mm.
That's not the summit i was looking for :D @Jared
I think you have done an EXCEPTIONAL job; thank you for making watching a movie, an EXPERIENCE!
The bar is so tiny compared to the one I work at
This is very nice would be more awesome if this kind of movie theaters was built in all states
Unfortunately built in the middle of a parking lot.
lol its only 1 Auditorium bigger than the one I work at. but sadly mines not an IMAX theater. Kinda wish it was it would bring in so much more money, and they didn't really think things through when they were building the building itself and take into account for expansion of adding new features into the consessions and store rooms.
Pity you didn’t show the projection systems…would of been more interesting than the kitchen!
Today it's pretty lame compared to film days. Just a projector with a built in server, a rack with a Dolby CP850/CP950 and a couple of Amps.
@@florichi IMAX Laser projector is pretty cool. Dolby cinema's projector also pretty dope. People do have love for 70mm IMAX film projectors though.
@@florichi yes I would imagine
@@cinemapigeon4898 sure digital projectors are dope too, but the daily operations are boring. I worked in a cinema in Austria that is one of the last few that has a projectionist even after going to digital. Most cinemas nowadays are controlled from the HQ
I like the idea of Dine and Recline... We don't have anything like this here in the UK, but can see it being a great idea.
if eating potato chips is bad enough, do we really want to hear people next to us smacking their food while watching a movie? i'm willing to pay extra for, comfort, quiteness, technical experiences that can't be replicated affordably at home
@@gvahlg6001 They have dining and none dining so it would your choice of theater.
Looks like an ordinary tavern, not like a place of entertainment. No crazy colors, no movement, no fun, it would be worth repainting something. And this "instructional" video like how to handle a bank account, no fantasy, maybe hire to well known actors... Nevertheless, I sincerely wish you good luck! 🍀

I remember before this place opened everyone hyped about how great it would be. In reality though I think the majestic is far better.
