Under the Radar: Chris Emproto, Scientist
Welcome to the sixth episode of Under the Radar where we feature outstanding members of the mineral community including collectors, dealers, artists, photographers, and more.
Our next guest is Postdoctoral Fellow in Minerals and Earth Sciences, Dr. Chris Emproto. He works is in the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is also the chair of the educational committee of YMC. In this interview he will give an insight to his scientific work at the museum and what it is like to be a young scientist.

I loved the theme of the show being focused on garnets. Nice guy, but could use a haircut, lol.
Super interesting collector and interview, thanks! But guys please get better audio. Filip's sound gets better about 5 minutes in, but before that it's impossible to listen to. And Matt's sound isn't bad, just way too low all the way through.
I love Filip's taste in mineral specimens, and he's such a great guy too!! Awesome interview.

I love this book, I would like to learn Latin in order to read the original. but the translated version has worked for the last 10 years. since i prospect alone normally, I think the gnomes might allow me to tag along while they find minerals. Not in it for the riches I just find it interesting to look for. i dont make any money working so might as well walk in the forest and look for things.👍
