I sold Mine. Biggest waste of money I’ve spent, in My opinion. no better than a flat screen. For a fraction of the cost. never again. Flatscreen Sony 50” was actually a better picture quality. 👍

Today I have made a few calculations and have come to the conclusion that the guys at Elite Screens are terribly confused, they do not know what they say and give information and instructions that are incoherent and incosistent. I will explain (and prove) to you how and why! I will take as an example the measurements of my (200cm x 113cm) 16/9 screen If you watch this video, elitescreens.com/elitetube/MountingScreen_RightHeight.mp4 Elite Screens recommend starting any installation of their products by dividing the screen into 3 equal parts and positioning the screen so that the line visual match with the lower third of the screen ... As indicated by them, once seated, the typical line of sight of any viewer is between 105 and 120cm. In my case for example, the line of sight is 105cm. Therefore, positioning my screen (200cm x 113cm) as indicated by them and leaving 1/3 of the screen below my eyes, and 2/3 of it above, the lower end of the screen will start at about 68cm from the floor and the upper end will reach 181cm from the floor (i.e. 68cm from the floor + 113cm which is the screen’s height). Therefore the centre of the screen will be at 125cm from the floor. Having followed their instructions for positioning the screen, we can now calculate the angle of incidence between the eyes of the viewer and the centre of the screen. To calculate the angle we need to know at what distance from the screen the viewer will be sitting. For this, at the beginning of this video elitescreens.com/elitetube/ALR_CLR_SweetSpot_VideoWeb.mp4, Elite Screens recommend to sit at a distance equal to at least 3 times the screen’s height. Therefore, in my case, at a distance of at least 113cm x 3 = 339cm. Good. Being now comfortably seated according to their indications, we can calculate the angle of incidence between the viewer’s eyes and the center of the screen. This angle corresponds to the arcsine of the relationship between at the numerator: the difference between the distance between the centre of the screen (125cm) and the height the viewer’s eyes (105cm), i.e. (125-105) = 20cm at the denominator: the distance of the viewer from the screen, i.e. 339cm. the ratio between the two is 20/339 = 0.058 The arcsine of 0.058 = 3.37 which represents the degrees of the angle between the viewer’s eyes and the center of the screen. Now, Elite Screens affirm later in this video, elitescreens.com/elitetube/ALR_CLR_SweetSpot_VideoWeb.mp4, that to find the sweet spot (which they continually repeat is critical to make the most out of their screens), you have to make sure that the angle which we have just found (i.e. between the center of the screen and the viewing point) is identical to the angle between the center of the screen and the lens of the VPR. Therefore, we must install the VPR in such a way as to obtain an angle of incidence between the screen center and VPR equal - in our case - to 3.37 degrees. To install the VPR we begin by following another piece of instruction provided by Elite Screens in the Cinegrey manual, namely to install the VPR at a distance from the screen equal to at least 1.5 times the width of the screen. In our case, 200cm x 1.5 = 300cm. Once the VPR is positioned 300cm away from the screen, all we have to do is to calculate at what height from the center of the screen the VPR must be positioned in order to obtain an angle of 3.37 degrees. The calculation is performed by multiplying the product between the distance of the VPR from the screen (i.e. 300cm) by the tangent of the angle that we want to obtain (i.e. the tangent of 3.37 = 0.059). The result is 300cm x 0.059 = 17.7cm. Therefore, following the calculations above, we must install the VPR at 17.7cm + 125cm (centre of the screen) = 132.7 cm from the floor. The problem with this is that 90% of the projectors would fail such an installation because by installing a VPR at 132.7cm from the floor (regardless if upside down or not) we will not be able to center a screen whose center is located at 125cm from the floor, because 90% of today’s VPRs project all of the image above the lens (or below the lens if placed upside down). Having meticulously followed all of their instructions, I have shown that Elite Screens’ inconsistent information and conflicting instructions make it impossible to install the Cinegrey in any proper way.

It would be nice if it said in the instruction manual to slide the support nuts into the frame anywhere, but especially BEFORE it says to put the entire screen on the frame. That part is really tough, and now I habe to take it all off to pour the nut in, then do the whole screen assembly again... I'm not very pleased right now.

Wrapping and stretching the screen to cover the corners is a real struggle.

It would cool if you could attach this screen to a vesa floor mount so you don't have drill holes in your wall for people living in rentals or a temporary shelter like a cabin
