Ninja 250 Motorcycle Maintenance
США
Добавлен 9 окт 2015
Kawasaki Heavy Industries made the "fourth generation" Ninja 250 for five years in the United States (2008-2012) before replacing it with the very similar Ninja 300 (2013-2017), which was then replaced with the Ninja 400 (2018-present). This channel is devoted to providing a visual aid for do-it-yourself enthusiasts who want to attempt maintenance, repair, or learn about places to find the best deals on OEM parts, tools, and everything related to a 2011 Ninja 250.

Love your channel. I bought my 2012 like 6 weeks ago, and I've put 1200 miles on it. It had like 2250 when I bought it. I love the bike, and I plan on keeping it forever.
Cool! Ride safe. Have fun. I did. 64,000 miles and I still own it.
60,000 miles on a 250 is absurd. Props for keeping it that long
Great I found you on Rumble 😃 Thanks!
Respectfully, the channel is dead because people like me used to like it for your helpful videos, but once you start pushing your political agenda on here I don't want to watch. This video is a perfect example of it. I just want maintenance tips, I don't want to join a cult. Chill bro, I don't even live in your country.
I doubt you have time to ride motorcycles or work on them, too busy making fake comments on RUclips.
First I gave to thank you for all videos of Ninja maintenance. It was immense help. With that being said, can you please give or put in video description link of your rumble or any other platform you are. Thank you!

You are an expert When it comes to the 250 I’ve got a lot of confidence watching your videos Very informative You probably have the best channel on the 250
show us how to install this well nut
thanks brother, just bought the bike last month just now have enough time to tear apart fairing to fix turn signal, previous owner change to all led signal cause it to blink on all 4 side
Thanks for this vedio bro
Any plans on a carb rebuild video? Love your channel it's made myself confident on working on my ninja, I'm at the point i think i need to clean and rebuild my carby though.
Thanks for watching. I ride my Ninja 250 so often, I've never needed to clean the carbs, so no plans yet. Thank you very much for the positive feedback.
The torque in the manusl for the filter and the oil plug is 14.5 ftlb for both, for the other bolts on the pan is around 7.25 ftlb but I have not seen this in the manual
I have an issue with my throttle on my 2012 250R, the front cable (closest to me when riding) has a ton of slack and my throttle doesn't snap back, is there a way to fix this?
It sounds like the cable may have snapped. Or, you just need to reduce the cable slack. Either way, this video will show you everything that you need to know: ruclips.net/video/9-UzNu3UuEw/видео.html
@@ninja250motorcyclemaintena7 thank you for the video and I finally got it sorted out now. I have the snap back when I release the throttle like I should have.
I’m about to pick up a 2011 250 4800miles for 2500$ excited to see these tanks can make it to 40k miles if maintained properly crazy🙌😂 Additionally thanks for all the informative information along with average prices of the maintenance
A lot more than 40,000. Mine has 64,000 now.
@@ninja250motorcyclemaintena7 picked it up 2000$ 🙌🔥
@@MerkgamersTV Excellent! Keep me updated on your progress.
Your videos are the best You give me the confidence to work on my ninja250 These bikes are amazing
Wow thank you!! Such detailed instruction. I really appreciate it. Your other videos are incredibly helpful too!!! Thank you again
Great video, I was able to do it just with the left fairing off but it was tight. Ngk is the for sure the one to go with, perfect fit. The spark plug tool did come apart though, both times I pulled out the spark plug the middle hinge disconnected and I had to refit it and expand it to keep it in place. The rubber also stayed on the spark plug when I pulled it out the second time so I had to put it back in and twist pull to get the rubber to stay inside. Pretty annoying but I guess it worked in the end
Hi, I'm trying to buy a 2008 250r for $2,100, but it has 127k miles on it, and I wanted to know if I should still get it or wait for a different bike?
Are you in the United States?
@@ninja250motorcyclemaintena7 I am
🤘
The only thing other than regular maintenance/consumables I've needed on my 09 was a fork seal at ~15,000 miles. I went ahead and did both and swapped out springs and oil to better suit my weight. Otherwise this thing was a fantastic financial decision for me. I've so many bad cars over the years because its all I could afford and I was never truly stranded when they broke down because I always had my ninjette. Cost $2750 back in 2012. Nows when I admit that I've never had the valves checked though. I always though you wait until the interval to adjust them (which I need to do now) What are the consequences if they've never been adjusted but the bike still runs amazing?
The top end of the engine will burn up. I have a valve adjustment series. If you're willing to do fork seals, there's no reason you couldn't do the valve adjustment. Just need a shim kit, cam chain tensioner holder plate, and a micrometer.
Picked up a 2010 naked 250 have the plastics trying to understand how it all comes together best videos on these 250s
Very helpful. Just put my bike back together.
I was holding for 2 month to do that job after watching this video, and postponing my road test, I saw another video and it was change within minutes, now i can go for my roadtest
This is all true. But there is just one major problem. No one would be able to see it because you can't get a camera in there. Also, there is always the potential for black widows. I explained this at the beginning of the video.
@@ninja250motorcyclemaintena7 Can you use an spray to kills spiders and save that much work, I have so much respect for all your videos, don´t take me wrong, but in this video I think is misleading a little bit, , I wish you all the best!!
It takes 3 minutes to change a light bulb, reaching from the top gap, taking all the farings is too much work, you can change it without taking any screw, out, reach behind the light pull the rubber , unplug the light disconnect , the wire clip, the light bulb, there is a little adaptor on the prones of the light, take it off, and change the light
Need to explain where tho hoses that go in gas tank connect from or of you lost track of the order of the hoses

Just picked up a 12 250 and your videos are very helpful. Thanks keep up the good work.
They can bend the opposite way I’ve just experienced this after a drop a low side drop the left bar bent towards me
Interesting.
Thanks for uploading this. It was very informative and useful. Saves me buying a new caliper too. Great work!
hi i might have just missed it but what was the torque of the cam cap and side cap bolts at the beginning of the video
I don't think that I stated it because I wanted to encourage people to get a service manual before attempting this work. In any case, it is 106 in-lb.
250 on a highway scaaaarrrrryyyy
I've put about 30,000 miles on my Ninja 250 on the freeway.
Wow That’s amazing
Excelentemente explicado
Are you sure it only goes 91mph
great video man, thank you
9:50 you should read up on the anti cease though, plugs now are coated and you shouldnt use it.
0:20 Im gonna watch this video and hope that anti cease is not going on the plugs
So my son just bought a 2012 250 ninja & just starting to learn with him about this iconic bike. So what is the bolt on the outside of the oil filter plate "that isn't the drain bolt"? I ask because someone else said that was indeed the drain bolt! Always wise to trust but verify!
I've seen multiple sites & videos stating the bolt just outside of the oil filter plate is indeed the drain plug which is rather interesting & now I need the actual diagram.
@@harvestblades I have performed about 10 or 11 oil changes on my 2011 Ninja 250, just performed one a couple weeks ago. The primary question that you are asking is this: "Is it necessary to remove the other bolt to completely drain the system?" And the answer is a definite no. There are two reasons that I am confident saying this. 1) When I drain the oil with the bolt shown in this video (along with the filter bolt removed), the entire volume of oil comes out (or 99% of it). I know this because when I put the new oil in, it takes exactly 1.7 quarts (with the filter removed), which means that all of the oil was drained from that one bolt and the filter removal. 2) The second reason that I am confident removing just that one bolt and the filter is that the service manual clearly shows the bolt that must be removed with a picture, and it does not mention any other bolt. If you would like, I can take a screen shot and show you with a Google photo. I highly recommend purchasing the service manual. If you plan to do a lot of work on your bike, it will be a worthy investment. I wish my dad were interested in working on motorcycles when I was young. I didn't get to do much of this type of thing when I was young. There is a possibility that that bolt could help to drain some oil, and the service manual just did not mention it. This is a definite possibility because service manuals are notorious for leaving information out or providing wrong information, but most mechanics will go by the service manual. What other choice do we have? Also note that service manuals are different based on the printing that you get. I learned this when one of my subscribers showed me discrepancies between mine and his. One more note: I've actually seen videos where peoople say specifically not to remove that bolt. I don't think that it will hurt anything if you do remove it, but as far as I know there's no torque value given for installing it, so you probably should keep it in.
You take very good care of your bike and help me do the same, much appreciated. Cheers
Perfect! Thanks! ☺❤
Bruh my ninja 250r (2010) has a sticky throttle. I just got it yesterday and I can’t take off safely out of 1st. When I try to give it some gas while letting out the clutch slowly I kill it every single time. Once I get to second I can ride it just fine but it is incredibly dangerous to have a sticky throttle as a new rider. I’m not sure what to do to fix it. The previous owner said it was laid down on accident idk how fast but the right side does have damage so I’m thinking it’s because of that. I don’t know what to do to fix it. Anything would help. Thanks guys
exactly what i needed for my 650r thank u
thank you for the instructional video!
Or you can open the bolt and drain some oil
I just made a deposit on this bike today, the seller lied me that its 300 and the housing is also written 300. 😢
My fuel doesn’t drip it started pouring out so I put it back on now what lmao
Thanks to you, i could fix all my bike. this vids are awesome! explained into details. dont know how to thankyou any more. THANKS AGAIN!
Awesome
Unscrew drain bolt, drain. Close drain bolt. Open the rad cap and pour. Wait a second until it drops and pour more to the top. I just saved you two hours!
Thanks for your content man, your channel saved me a few hundreds bucks because it gave me the confidence to do my own valve adjustment
Thank you so much for the informative guide to adjusting valve clearance on a ninja 250. Your videos helped tremendously when I adjusted the valves on my own bike.
Wow I've looked at a few of your uploads and you my friend have made a awesome library of how to keep your ninja 250r on the road thankyou from all the ninja squids out there. I bought a little red ninja 250r off one of my customers 2 weeks ago it's a blast having ridin all kinds of bikes from 1 liter jap supers to Italian supers this is by far the most fun without feeling like I'm playing with my life. Thanks again
Just bought a 2012 250r so pumped gonna run a carb cleaner fuel mix cause the idle is a bit off but other than that it’s pretty nice. Anyone notice the heat rising on these? I’m thinking replacing the coolant with engine ice to see if it make a difference.
