Interesting vid. THANK you
I live in corydon where is this at ?
Go to Elizabeth, IN which is about 10 or 15 miles SE of Corydon. From Elizabeth, take hwy 11 NE. Turn right on Hwy 211. Then turn left on Hwy 111. Go about 1/4 mile or so until you get to the driveway for Likens shooting range. Turn into the driveway. Just to the right is the bluff on top of which is McHarry’s Tomb.
People dont understand how much of a marvel n 1 of a kind this stair case is, especially for its time.
I was at shaker village today for a field trip

Old people are so entitled.
Says the person commenting about "old people" on a RUclips short....
Why no recording. Is there too much “history” in there 😂😂😂😂😂
You can have to much history?
Your talking about my family you piece of crap.
I've been there hundreds of times. I grew up just up the hill from it within walking distance. very neat place and story to go with it. thanks for uploading

Thank you for sharing your video ❤️ It's like I've seen the temple in person haha...
I have been in the temple
If you decide to make the climb, you might want to do so after all the leaves are off the trees and when the snakes are hibernating. I found that the best way to climb it is the back side of the bluff. Although it’s still a tough climb, it’s not quite as steep as the front of the bluff facing the river. By the way, my 2nd great uncle was once the town doctor in Elizabeth over 100 years ago. His home was on Beech St. about a block from Main St. His name was Dr. Daniel Dean. Several of his children are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Where is the tomb
It’s on Hwy. 111 south of New Albany, Indiana. I think you have to go several miles along the base of the river bluffs. Look for a large sign on the right that says “Hypoint Farm.” Park your car along the side of the road somewhere where there’s room. Go around to the back of the bluff where the Hypoint sign is. Be warned that’s it’s a very steep climb. Also there’s a no trespassing sign. When you get to top of bluff walk a ways until you reach the Tomb.
Matthew Dean ok thank you I live in Elizabeth and have never heard anything about it.
Me and my boys have tried and failed(I almost died on our first attempt) to find this tomb! We have parked at an abandoned house close to the site and also at the hypoint site. Each time we climb as far as high as we possibly can, but we can’t seem to get there! I know this was posted 4 years ago, but if by some miracle you see this comment, please help us!!!
The Ford Family Cemetery is located off the highway just south of Tolu, Kentucky. There is a sign describing the cemetery just at the edge of the highway which describes the Fords Ferry operation. The cemetery is just beyond the sign off to the left. You have to walk through a field to reach it and it’s in a clump of trees on a slight knoll. Best time to visit is during the winter season after the trees have shed their leaves.
Is this accessible? On private land? I wouldn't mind visiting if possible.
How do you get here to see it?
Check Google Maps for Potts Inn Historic Site, Hardin County, Illinois and Potts Inn Cemetery, Hardin County, Illinois. Look for an old stone foundation and a stone-lined spring. That's all that is left of the Inn. There's a mural painting of Billy Potts painted by someone back in the 1960s on the cliff behind the Inn site. You can see the trace impression of the abandoned old Ford's Ferry Road to the west of the Inn foundation ruins. The Potts Inn Cemetery is nearby, just look for three gravestones. Google Maps also gives routes, directions, and distances in hours and minutes and miles to this site. The Billy Potts story associated with Potts Inn is considered factless, folklore and not even close to the real Isaiah Luna Potts and his wife Polly Blue Potts. No factual evidence can be found to connect and implicate Mr. and Mrs. Potts to the legendary crimes attributed to them. They were law-abiding and never forcibly run out and expelled or killed in the way James Ford in Kentucky was. Read these articles for more detailed information about this fascinating historic site!
