💖😊
Emily seemed really off and I think the IG’s are the epitome of harmony, so not meaning to be critical- hope she’s okay.
She has been working with a vocal coach
"What in the world is Americana? Is it a genre? Is it a philosophy? Is it country music for liberals." ... it was at this point that my tears turned to joyous laughter. This is such a great introduction and so worth the watch. And that quote isn't even the best part!
so glad to see this award given to them -- so deserving, well done ladies
Beautiful!
Wow, thanks for sharing. I'd never heard them sing this! And what beautiful instruments!
So fun--thanks for sharing!
Legends! 🎶 ❤
These women warm my heart. I love you!
being gay...isn't exactly ground breaking. and has nothing to do with music
Being a human, I easily figured out this was an activist award....because I watched the video. Perhaps your should identify as ignorant or snobby?
Boy did you miss the point - did you even watch this?
You have massively MISSED THE POINT of this talk, and of the Indigo Girls music.
They weren’t being honored for being gay. They were being honored for being awesome.
Brava 🎉🎉🎉
Yalls best song ever! Thank you Happy Pride Any & Emily!! Stay safe and have fun! 🎉🌈💜🫂🥹🏳️🌈
King of night vision
Love these two even after so many years have passed. Still sound great together keep on going. luv to you Scarborough Perth Australia xxxxxx.
Yes!! Music 🎶 hahaha, smiling to be the first "like here".. 42 yrs of life , learning these lessons.. THANK YOU BOTH from the bottom of my heart for the years of hope. This came EXACTLY when I needed to hear it. No words of appropriate gratitude... ❤
Thank you!!!!!!❤
1:55 Why is Kid Fears credited as a co-write? It's one of Amy's. Thought everyone knew that (unless it's a rewrite).
We need more folks like the Indigo Girls. True Class ❤ Keep on Rockin❣️
Re: the description maybe don’t give away what school their kids go to, but also I think you said the wrong one goes here
Thank you for capturing this. Much appreciated.
Well deserved used to see them back in the 80”s a lot in Atlanta.. they were so awesome
Incomparable.
Im from Australia, Perth, cant wait to watch it. Im hoping I can see it here, fingers crossed. Luv this band saw them in Melbourne years and years ago. bless you all xxxx
Love, respect, utmost gratitude to you for a lifetime of music that has helped SO many souls.. thank you for making it a little bit easier this time around. Let me last life off the hook for next go around.. 🎶 💞 you shine so brightly! Chills of deepest love for the impact you've had in so many ways!✨️
Good Luck and all the best Emily.
We can learn a lot from Indigo Girls! Thanks for the show and for uniting despite your children's elementary "school rivalry" LOL!
Love this!
Don't get me wrong we all can learn. Love I the answer.

well done
Thank you Emily for making sure to include Joni Mitchell as she too has been a beacon for us all. Belinda amazes me more and more the more I see see her, understand her associations, the integrity of her passions, and am awed by her connectedness to all that I see as a concerted American voice throughout decades of yearning and struggle achieving milestones for the Country and it's growth in Life, Liberty and Freedom. Amy & Emily congratulations you deserve this award as well as all the best life has to offer you both in all aspects. Thank you for everything, Belinda and Joni you too. God bless you all and all that you hold dear. Sincerely, P.M. 💜
Gorgeous!
Great song! Thank you for posting.
I am so grateful to find this. I cannot remember an adult life without The Indigo Girls. No. I don’t recall the actual year, perhaps the early 90s?, when I discovered the Indigo Girls, but they have NEVER EVER been left of any playlists I’ve made. They are absolutely always in my mix of songs, even when on Dead tour and road trips all over this nation where I rarely allowed anything but Dead related bands played in my auto. I never knew the struggles of non heterosexual people. Because it was not my road. So I never ever knew about being biased. Or bigoted. I learned along the way about others’ experiences. Why some friends did not ever have an intimate partner perplexed me. I chose not to be involved because I always attracted abusive men. They never talked about their reasons. Now they do. Some are married to same sex partners. Some are still looking. But now I understand. And The Indigo Girls will always be a part of those stories for me. Because I always respected them for who they were as much as what they gave. And I still do. This is beautiful!! I hope The Indigo Girls forever light those torches. They are the purest beauty that is possible from humans. Love. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Who cares about their gender. It's all about their MUSIC which is unbelievably great. Can we all just leave it at that?
So AWESOME AND INSPIRATIONAL! And I am also very sad and worried about the condition of Emily's voice. We all need to keep singing your songs and spreading your message and appreciate all that you gave us - incredible lyrics, guitar payling and gorgeous melodies and harmonies.
I know. She always had that pure sweet voice that would bring me to tears with it's beauty. Their harmonies were always incredible and totally uplifting.
Well now, I just enjoyed *every minute* of that! Of course the Indigo Girls are legends, and along with Brandi Carlile, that made three women on that stage who are So Stinkin' COOL, they knock me flat! What a gift :D
I found Amy & Emily at a music store in 1990 in Mountain View, CA I’ve seen them live more times than I even know… I don’t agree with all of their stands…but, they have IMHO always been about incredible music… Probably my favorite group…ever.
A coworker turned me on to the Indigo Girls, also sometime around 1990. We were both straight white computer techs, but the Indigo Girls were AWESOME, and when I found out they were gay, I was "So what?" I have had friends who were gay, and trans, since the 80s. People are people, give me a break. I took a girl I was dating to an Indigo Girls concert, and she decided I was weird because of that. Wanted to know if I was 'a college girl or something?', like that would be an insult. Clearly that relationship was going nowhere! I am always happy to share the good news with anyone ( By which I mean, the IG are still around and still touring! ) We aren't going to talk religion or politics, though. It is just how the world is right now.
love the indigo girls since I was a teen... discovered them through joan baez, followed their whole career from that point
