I got an old sprinter in for welding around 3k and I got all the repair panels it was hard trying to get someone to weld it my van done 665k but you get a lot more problems with newer van it’s better the devil you know if you get another van you could be buying someone else’s problem I would get bez done

Drama dave like. Holy shit 2k welding its either absolutely scrap or you getting mugged of bill. From what I can see on pictures £400/ 500 tops like . Been and mot tester for 38 years. Bit of advice ,before you go shelling out 2k on that. Have the rest checked first. And get second opinion, sorry like 2.5k come on like. Also who does it don’t let them paint or under seal it before you have it back. So can see it done right. “Weld in a can “ can look good lol.

Yo billy boy ,and of course the gorgeous Leanne (sorry bill lol defo punching 😂😂). Don’t be too down it’s just nice flat straight plate. Try and have a poke around with the floor meets. That’s could be prob especially if you got foam or wood , insulation other side. Thing with welding it’s what you can’t see. The hole always ends up twice size you see. If floor half about should be about £150 is a side. Trust me shop about , welding up cars /vans used to be many thing for garage years ago. Not much now lots of places don’t want do it these days as cars don’t rust like they did in the good old days lol. Just don’t try bodge it end up costing 3 times as much. Pity you not about the Welsh valleys would help out All the best both. Oh and big love too willow xxx

Get yourself a arc welder Can get them for £60 used. Do it yourself

I’ve just done mine mate Sprinter of the same year so we have the same shell. Once he cuts the front sill off guaranteed to find that the inner sills will need doing at the same time so be ready to pay the upper end of the quote. The replacement panels are really good tbf and not trying to be negative but thought I would warn you

Hi guys 😂well what can I say having just bought a newish T6 2022 we were considering an older van 🚐 however we are fortunate enough to have the funds to get a new van ! All I will say is if there is any way you can invest in a new van I would say it’s the best way ! However easier said than done ! The Go Fund is a very good idea and I’m sure you will raise a good amount ! Raffle Bez to help promote it and you never know ! Any way good luck in all you both deserve the best van ever !! I know that feeling all too we'll. I've been stuck with the dilemma of getting my old 04 plate Iveco welded up or starting again. personally I'm gonna get it welded as once its done its hopefully going to give me a lot more years. on the other hand I've got a 23 plate citroen relay work van. nothing but issues from new and bad service from the dealership. from what I've read all newer vans are problematic. good luck to you both.

If you’re thinking of getting a new van then you might as well just go for it rather than pouring more money into this one, I had an LT35 which I’ve spent £3000 on fixing various things in the last 12 months only for the engine to seize a few weeks ago and I’ve had to scrap it 😂 would have been far better having that £3000 to put towards my next van but you live and learn!

Go get a battery powered angle grinder from b&q and cut out all the rust yourself, treat it and shape up some steel, then just get someone to weld it on, save you loads of money 💪 if you need a hand I live in Carbis Bay and got loads of tools 🙂

You guys are awesome. love the vids. I have a 2005 LT35 lwb 2.8 campervan I bought last month, the interior needs completely re-doing. I am really interested in how you set up your hot water tank. I am sure I will find the vid if you made one? Tons of rust in places and things to do on it. I am enjoying learning so much new things. Electrics, plumbing, mechanics, welding and spraying. As an ev owner, this was painful to watch. This is why it should be the responsibility of the dealer to explain all of this. I know it didnt come from a dealer, but still. Mistakes: 1. You chose one with only 50kw, and it would be load faster with a speed around 350kw 2. You didnt begin the charge before plugging in. With a volkswagen,you can do what you did, where you just plug and charge without beginning a charge,but only on Electrify America/canada. 3. You didnt click 'end charge'on the screen (if it actually did show it. If not, then its absolutely the charger's fault) 4. Always just tap the card on the charger,never use the app unless its more convenient. It makes it so much easier. Just for if there is a next time
