Trapp Family Lodge, Tour with the Scottish Cows, and Breakfast!
Roughest ride I ever took. Sipping around on puke on the floor. Never again.
I ride from Tuscloosa to New Orleans to go on cruises.. love riding the train... Let them drive lol
I really enjoyed your video. I have caught the train from there a few times. I never explored the area because I was traveling with a small child. I will be traveling with a 14 yr old in June 25. We are cruising from Miami then coming to visit California which is my home state. New sub
love these type of videos theyre very comforting!
I'm just wondering if you could barely hear the music without fireworks from the pool.
I like that you are showing the Stations. Thanks
That was a nice room and hotel tour. It looks like a nice place to stay.
Party in our room. You two are a hoot!!!
I like people to show their faces and talk during the videos and you two did both. I like videos without music or music played low in sound level. I enjoyed your video and will watch more of them in the future.
You two are a trip, a real hoot. It would be fun traveling with you two. You are brave getting off the train and away from the station but I know others have done it too.
We pretty much see a boat ride and pretty beach. Was this any good though? Were there bathrooms? Was there food, chairs?
there is a beach, food was provided, and there are bathrooms.
@saunteringsidekicks Thanks so much for the info! I'm doing a cruise next year and this excursion is one of the options.
Nice job ! It was a joy having you girls for the day ! thank you
Our pleasure! We had an amazing time!
Visiting VT next weekend and wondering how I could get this tour even though I'm not a guest of the lodge
You are able to sign up through the Lodge website. .
I agree this vid is more helpful than most. Thanks! Why was it so empty there? You noted leaving after the rush but it looks really dead? Did lots stay on ship? Or is it just super spread out compared to CC?
Everything is centrally located and easy to navigate around. The island was busy but I think the different areas to visit make it appear less busy.
so long jafar
Beautiful station but underwhelming lounge. Been there several times.
Fair enough!
Great video! Still a little confused with directions! So if we want to go the kids splash pad with slides, rush out gush out, do we go left or right when getting off the tram? Also, do you know what the open house hours were for the island kids club splash pad?
You can really go left or right. It is kind of central to both sides. Head toward the ocean and you will see it. There are walkways leading down going either way. I hope that helps and doesn't confuse you more.
Not going to LA
So..Ya'll..Would you do it again? Thanks so much for making this because I've always wanted to know.
We would definitely do it again-nice way to travel to New Orleans!
Nice. Thanks.
Hello Mx. kicks! Well, we had always wanted to do this trip out of Anniston. Never got a around to it, one excuse or the other. Ya''ll kinda popped up on my scream this morning and I watched and enjoyed. Many thankees! Ya done good!
Glad you enjoyed it-I hope you can take the trip someday soon!
Were you just snorkeling in the ocean or was this one of the port adventures?
Just me snorkeling on my own in the ocean-pretty amazing experience!
@@saunteringsidekicks that's so great to hear. I'm going to cancel the port adventure for snorkeling since I can see all this without paying so much more. Thank you
Any insight to doing this vs the paid excursion? Any feedback from others who may have done it ?
I would love to know the other new wish trivia questions.. everyones new vlogs ppl keep saying there are alot of new wish questions now I want to know what they asked about it
Thank you for recording this. We are looking into going from Atlanta to New Orleans probably in coach. This is helpful. Did they have baggage check for coach?
We did not check our bags on this journey. We just put everything up above our seats-but I would think Amtrak does offer bag check on your journey. Glad the video helped out some-hopefully you get to take your trip soon!
Coach for that trip. Under 20 hrs...well under. The Crescent uses heritage coaches....aka small without the 2 level vista seating. There are tight tunnels through the blue ridge between ATL and DC...so the big coaches don't fit. I used to ride it from Mobile to Philly or DC (24 hrs) when that service connector was avail and there was always AC problems somewhere on the route. You'll need a taxi or Uber to the tourist area of NO. Only 10 minutes in a car...but not a good place to walk from. Station is above the Superdome off Tulane in Tremane. It is tempting to walk ..but a lot of sketchy areas passing under I-10 overpasses.
I've got a question. What was the situation to go see deadpool since it's an r rated movie?
The movie was played later in the evening, and only people 18 and above were allowed in, or if under 18 you had to be with an adult. There were cast members outside the theater making sure no children went in without an adult.
Ty for video couldn't get a reservation on recent trip
So sorry to hear that. Hopefully you will have a chance to go back, it is such an amazing experience.
That’s cool _ the space 200 going up to the restaurant
Do you have tips for trips or cruises? Such as best bang for a buck lol
Definitely look for off season deals. Cruises may be less expensive and less busy then. Cruising is a wonderful way to relax! We did a short cruise the first time, to make sure we liked it, and haven't stopped cruising since.😀
Do you plan your trip all yourself or is the trip planned for you? I know it’s a silly question but I’ve never traveled on my own.
We do all of our own planning and booking. We research everything and make sure it is a good fit, and try to book as much adventure as we can.
I see a lot of seniors traveling in your video.
There are definitely all ages on the trains. We have met several older adults during our Amtrak trips and we enjoy sharing travel stories.
Do you feel safe traveling on the train ? I’m in Cape Girardeau,Missouri. I want to take to Chicago to the museums also to different locations for wool festivals. Is it less expensive traveling by train ?
We feel very safe on the train and the staff @ Amtrak do a great job making sure there are no issues while traveling. You should definitely take the trip! Union Station in Chicago is quite beautiful and you can catch an Uber right out front.
@@saunteringsidekicks I wanted to go with my son to see the museums and maybe a trip to the national parks in the future.
I have ridden to Chicago on Amtrak. There are cabs right out the front door and i was very surprised as I thought they were less expensive than I thought they would be. I thought the area around the train station was nice. It is busy for sure. There are shops in the station for food and other things. I would also recommend taking the train as it is such a relaxed way to travel. The bedrooms are expensive but your meals are included in that price.
Loved your video of the island. You were more in dept and positive then any RUclipsr we’ve seen. Thank you
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I agree too. Thank you very much 😊
In desperate need of refurbishment. The ride out to train side is nice.
We did enjoy the ride outside heading to the train.
was it hard to get from there to the cruise port?
not at all, it was a very quick ride over to port.
Yes, the Glades is a well traveled park; however, you’re visiting at the wrong time of the year out there. June-September is definitely NOT when to be there. It’s blistering hot and muggy, buggy, and the gators are dispersed because water is everywhere. The best time for the Glades is dry season and to see all the wildlife out there, you really need to get off the major trails and adventure onto those less traveled. The reward is well worth it!
Yes, we definitely need to come back during dry season, the heat was brutal, and it would be cool to see more wildlife.
Next time you know if you have a sleeper you have access to the metropolitan lounges at the stations so you should use them. What was your favorite meal on this train? How many hours of uninterrupted sleep did you get on this train?
We enjoy the metropolitan lounges when we do get a sleeper, it is a nice perk! Not sure we have a favorite meal but the meals are better than we expected.
Thank you for sharing ❤wonderful trips sisters ❤
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Thank you for showing the process!
You are very welcome!
Do u pay on the way out? For the parking garage
Yes, there is a kiosk to pay for parking in the garage before you get to your vehicle (after the cruise)
Thanks for the tour of the lounge! Hope you all had a great trip!
We had an awesome time-thank you!
I route and talk this train through the New Orleans terminal every morning.
I've taken this trip at least fifty times and you are the first person I've seen weigh their bag!
You just need to keep in mind that Rapunzel must brush her hair every single day so that it doesn’t get Tangled.
Thanks for interesting video 👍🏻
Thank you for sharing the awesomeness of coachclass.. Since I don’t fly this is stress free way to travel..
So true!
Happy Anniversary. BTW was Palo open on a port day? I have only known them to be open on a sea day.
Thank you! Yes, we went to Palo on the same day we were at port in Nassau.
For the best price watch for the specials .
That’s a great idea for the homeless in Los Angeles the old Amtrak trains!
Espresso martini I’m definitely getting that love it. Gotten one at all bars on DCL basically
So good!
Looks very nice - what is the benefit of using the lean-to (for non-winter tent camping)?
I would say the biggest benefit would be protection from the weather. A lean-to is great to have if it rains, or if you want to have a more open camping experience, you could sleep under it with a sleeping bag.
@@saunteringsidekicks Thanks! So I'm guessing mosquitoes aren't a problem in Vermont? Trying that other places would be a problem (to say the least!)
