You may not be aware coyle has got to 5 bookings and is suspended for next match
@@iantempleman3364 I believe it's extended to ten bookings as we've played more than 19 games!
Next two games 2am Sydney time, breaking news... Sky are probably looking at 2am start times in the UK.
Wish Alex and the gang a very merry Christmas and all the best for the new year. Very much appreciate the podcast and look forward to the weekly chat on RUclips.
@@iantempleman3364 very much appreciated!
First episode I watched was when Marco Silva was first appointed and you guys showed in my recommended feed watched/listened to every episode since. Fair play to you Alex and the gang for sticking with this team and this podcast for 300 episodes congratulations! I always find it fascinating my local team has fans at the other side of the world. We need to get you guys some more Aussies so you can interview them like Irvine, Garcia, and Elder way back when.
Thank you so much!
Happy 300th! I somehow only came across this podcast this year but I’ve been a City fan since 16-17. I’m looking forward to digging back through those early pods.
@@chaseedwards7024 amazing! We've also done a series of flashback eps reviewing old seasons that we've almost finished
I think we do probably need another midfielder who can do what Seri used to do
We don't know if Alzate is any good. So far he's been injured or not fit most of the time at City
@@Scottoe1 looked pretty good yesterday! And has been good previously
Had to happen.
Yippeeeee
You omitted to say which January the striker would be arriving in.
Great pod as always. I'm shocked Palmer isn't starting more often, he seems to be our most creative player
@@MrDannyMacdonald thanks! Always appreciate the comments. And yeah I just don't get how Walter isn't helping himself with his selections
Good show - keep it up.
Thank you!
Great pod guys! Personally I don't see Walter being here this time next month. Acun enjoys appearing on the likes of Sky and TalkSport, and his ego won't be able to take the criticism on there
@@MrDannyMacdonald much appreciated! Will certainly be interesting to see if he can accept getting it wrong
Just come across this channel top work lads 👏
Appreciate it!
I think Rosenior's given too much credit for developing players who've hardly been here. And even signing some players who may have needed other persuasion. Also some players directly linked to him didn't work out, the guy from Crystal Palace and Connolly for example. Robins has achieved more, even Carrick so far who had plenty of injuries in his team this season. Rosenior is very much learning unlike Wagner, Corberán, Eustace, Mowbray. We will likely get money out of selling Philogene and possibly one or two others. Loan players going back too means it will be something of a reset anyway.
How did Connolly not work out when he was a free transfer who scored 8 goals in half a season? He had injury issues after the knock against Norwich, but he had the best goal scoring season of his career. Delap and Philogene had relatively poor seasons last year and improved massively. Greaves and Coyle improved massively. Seri had his best season for us, Tufan got fit and had his best goal scoring season. These are not young players just naturall improving. Ebiowei is basically the only player who hasn't worked out and he was a 6 month loan who was injured when he got here.
@@hullcityafcaustralia9189 Did you watch Anass Zaroury play?. The reason Connolly or Sharp didn't work out was because the clown didn't play a centre forward for most of the games after xmas. Philogene was average after scoring his wonder goal at Rotherham, and cannot hold a candle to Abdülkadir Ömür, who is different class.
UTT🐯
With regards to the transfer window opening, stand by for the usual press release telling us we want our business done early. Later on stand by for a frantic final few days with three or four coming in.
In fairness hasn't that worked out pretty well for us lately? I wouldn't characterise the signing of Morton or Philogene as frantic for instance, just patient. I think we are likely to have Greaves or Philogene sold by 30 June to fit them into this financial year, which may well mean we do try to sign a player or two before that (don't want clubs knowing how much money we have to play with). Would think loans later in the window.
Some say the best bit was 26 minutes in, I couldn't possibly comment. 😊
Bunnies? Not a term we use over here, hey ho. 😊
I did wonder that when I made the episode title! It's basically used for a team that always loses to another team
It wasn't the extra nail in the coffin, the coffin's in the hole. 😊
Rosenior's substitutions can make the team more defensive and invite more pressure at times.
While I think that's true at times, he does often bring on players like Tufan, Omur, Slater, etc. in more advanced positions. It's not like he brings McLoughlin on. Even when he's brought Jacob on before it's been to push Giles up to the wing and unleash him, rather than play a back 5
@@hullcityafcaustralia9189 It's more about sometimes taking players players off who have been effective and soon after we concede. I felt it's happened a couple of times recently. When controling a game it's probably best not to make changes.
On the Sky commentary v West Brom they quoted Rosenior as saying that he didn't need to play a striker. Without a striker definitely need more shots from around the edge of the penalty area to test the keeper more. With Delap out Connolly is definitely the main option. Ohio apparently isn't that fit, which isn't surprising to me as I thought he's looked leggy so far.
Yeah not been the biggest fan of Ohio so far, even though he did get the winner v Rotherham. Connolly needs to be backed to start, but the games might be seen as 'too big' for him, might get a start v Birmingham.
Lewis-Potter left because he wanted to leave, unless Greaves wants to leave I don't see why he should go. Keeping good local players is a strength. I thought bringing Connolly on rather than Traore would have been better in the Southampton game. Sitting back for the last 15 minutes would have made more sense with a one goal lead but not so much with a two goal lead for me.
Only reason would sadly be for FFP purposes. Greaves being sold gives us pure profit to our bottom line (whereas Philogene would be any sale price less his sales price less the amortised bit - complicated!) Agree, I'm intrigued at how little game time Connolly has got lately given he's supposedly fit
Good podcast Alex, up the glorious Tigers. As much as I felt confident for the win against the Saints, my feeling for the WBA game is one of nervousness. As Rosie said in his post match interview if we don’t back Tuesday’s performance up against WBA it will then detract from the three points on Tuesday night.
Absolutely! If we could only take 3 points from Soton + WBA I'd rather it be against WBA (because it denies them points too) so big big test tomorrow
Hull actually gets less rain than Lancashire (North West) , no idea why the pitch is so bad
Interesting! I wonder if it is just the fact the pitch is past its use by date. Maybe should have been replaced last off-season..
A good listen as always, I'm based in Vietnamese these days, always watch the games home and away on Tiger +, if ever you're looking for a guest contributor, being 4 hours behind Sydney, I'm not sure where you are located, then I would be happy to come on if it is of interest.
New sub here from sunny kingston upon Hull please tell me ur english rugby league club is Hull kingston rovers guys 😂
Haha! To be honest I don't follow much Rugby League but do keep an eye out for when they're doing well
Total bottle job at Crystal Palace on the last day of the season, by the players and manager. The only plus side of the weekend was Justin Whittle was in the same hotel as us, top man and always willing to chat.
Yep that was the game that had so much riding on it and the players just completely downed tools.
😒 "promosm"
How have you come to support the Tigers in Oz? Good listen btw.
Been a fan since the first PL season and Geo's goal against Arsenal and Spurs! Each of us started following at different times though. Thanks for the comment!😀
Philogene’s buy back has been confirmed to only activate if we are in the same division as villa, we absolutely should not sell him unless offered 30 million in summer. Delap will be loaned in again likely but Morton probably won’t return as he has openly said he wants to pursue minutes at Liverpool. In January I think we will probably loan Rak-Sakyi, but max bird and possibly a striker
I wasn't disappointed with the four points from the two games, I'd happily take the same return for the next two. 🤓
I wouldn't be disappointed with four points from the next two games, right now I'd happily take that. Swansea is never an easy place to go to, easier though than the Vetch where refs seemed to be terrified to give decisions to away teams.
I think if fit you will probably see Morton back next to Seri.
It's a tough line up to break into but I think you're right
Great show guys 👍🏻
Much appreciated!
Watched to the end now, is nowhere bleedin' safe from xg?! 😁
Good away day, bad hair day! 😜
Haha fair bit going on behind the scenes today 🤣
Sometimes quite interesting to listen to a podcast after the Leicester game, which as we know now was a tremendous result, so your thoughts were not so wide of the mark.
Yes, had thought they were there for the taking, was too conservative thinking perhaps 1-1!
Logan has far better taste in club badges than 'some' do. 😜
I have old kits too, my missus ruined them though.. 😂
Love the pod guys, atmosphere on friday is going to be rocking- twine home debut goal 🤞Philogene reveal...
Thanks mate!
Bonus point for the song at the start, City should play it, in whole, just before the start of every game.
Penance served. 🤓
Thoughts?
Seen worse! 😁Actually fairly good. Yet more stuff for me to view on RUclips. 🙂
@@twowrights7945 we'll have a new episode out tomorrow! 😊
Great podcast guys.
Tetteh leaving was a big one. Apparently for personal reasons, maybe needs to be closer to family. Though we got the young Southend striker in that's more one for the future. Just an injury or two away from having limited striker options now, and we need more goals.
Oscar, Connolly and Delap seem the three main strikers, with Ally and Longman 'break glass' options if the other three aren't fit, so I don't think it's too bleak as things stand!
Awh! Just missed it by 3 minutes! I'll catch the next one
Tbf thinking of breakout academy players, Harry Wood is playing upfront for Shelbourne atm and scored the other day. If he keeps it up I can see him coming back in November maybe coming off the bench a few times
"Promosm"
You guys are certainly one of the better Hull City podcasts👍
Much appreciated mate! Glad you enjoy
Tufan did start the season well, then maybe he lost fitness with the two games a week. Also I would say Blackburn were very good in the second half against Huddersfield. So potentially not an easy one. They haven't had such a bad run of not scoring like Millwall.
With the defence the main worry is on the wings. If we have worries it's normally getting skinned there. Bristol started way quicker but messed up the chances to cross well. They eventually faded after 20 mins and later we became more of a threat once Bristol scored and we finally showed more urgency. Then in the final part it got scrappy and Bristol seemed to outbattle us and broke up play so there weren't many chances near the end.
