Hi Kate, I’m so glad you’ve found the tutorial helpful. In regard to your question, you would want to make the ribbing so the beanie has some grip to the head so I would suggest to make the ribbing length around 22 inches. ( no more than 23 inches ). Hope this helps 😀🙏

Hi, thank you so much for your lovely comments, I’m thrilled that you like the blanket😄. This blanket has 48 squares ( 6 across x 8 length ). You will need 450g of the ombré yarn and 450 g of white yarn. There are lots of ombré yarns out there, I’ve just had a Quick Look on Amazon and there are some lovely ones there. Also, Etsy have a good range of ombré yarns too. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed crocheting this blanket, I hope you do too. 😄🙏

Hi, when you have folded and joined the rectangle, you could start working in the round on the end of each sleeve and increase your stitches on every round until it’s flared out as much as you like. I hope this helps 😀🙏

Hi Charlotte, it’s ok I’m happy to help if I can. Honestly, the best way to get the right length for your ribbing is to measure around your head where it’s going to sit on your head. 18 inches will probably be fine though because ribbing does stretch.

Hey Charlotte, my head might be completely different size which is why I’ve used measurements in the video and not number of stitches. Also I’m not sure which part of the hat you’re referring to. For the ribbing measure round your head and make the ribbing to that length or slightly less ( you don’t want the ribbing too loose) If it’s for the length of the hat mine was 12 inches long but 10 inches is also a good length for a slouchy beanie. My hat was 18 inches I think that's what you said the ribbing fits nice but after that single crochet etc I ended up with 70 stitches is that to much

Put the same amount of single crochet stitches as the amount of rows you did for the ribbing. So count how many rows in your ribbing and the do the same amount of single crochet stitch.

To count your rows of the ribbing, each bump ( raised part ) is 2 row. So count each bump in the ribbing “2,4,6 etc “

Hey thanks for your question. It’s all in the counting. When you start a row with your chain stitch that counts as stitch 1. Then as long as you count 8 stitches on each slope the holes should line up. But like any crochet project when you’re beginning it does take practice. I would suggest doing the best you can, follow the video instructions, keep going and you’ll find that as the blanket gets bigger you won’t notice the holes so much. I hope this helps a little 😀🙏

Hi thanks for your question. I want to make sure I’m understanding your question correctly. When you say ‘length’, do you mean the measurement between the neck and the waist (rows). Or from side to side? 😀🙏

I’ve added the length in of the garment ( rows) for each size in the description. Hope this helps 😀🙏
