"Twopence to London Bridge" - Lynn Clayton
Просмотров 399 месяцев назад
This is a fragment of Lynn Clayton's performance of the song, "Twopence to London Bridge." It appears on her 1981 self-titled LP. I've looked online for this song and album now for decades, and finally decided to put this fragment, which I'd recorded off of a Boston folk radio station, up on RUclips. Does anyone have any information about Ms. Clayton and her music? I learn from AllMusic that sh...

Seven Ducklings with Their Mom

Saturday morning, May 20, 2023, a female mallard with 7 young ducklings came up from Diamond Springs Park into our backyard, where we've been feeding mallards bird seed for years. Thing is - she wouldn't leave! She took them back and forth to the two patios on the east & west side of our back sun room, slowly ambled with them through our flower garden, and spent most of her time snoozing with t...

Sat across a baby grand piano when Jonathan did this at a coffee house in Phoenixville PA...excruciatingly beautiful!
I will vote for RK as I always have. It's about time he gets elected. Give him a chance. Sabrina is anti-2nd A and a liar. Do not vote for her.
Thank you for posting. All beach voters need to see this.
How was Private-Public Partnerships approved?
Thank you so much!
Raylene Rankin recorded the song Blackbird on her second (and final) solo album All The Diamonds (2011).
That's okay , feel good about yourself 😊
"Fair and Tender Ladies"… my goodness!
Thanks for providing this. Very interesting to hear some of the opinions and answers here
Thank you for posting this! Kevin Burke is an inspiration to me as I am learning to play the fiddle.
Gonzalez Brian White Michelle Walker James
Good work, Rob!
Thank you for this!
My pleasure!
Jonathan’s the best!
You know how to blow that harmonica , keep up to go worse
The Orangedale Whistle is one of my favourite songs. A ballad about bygone era of train travel, wonderfully song by the family. I have visited the museum site in Orangedale, NS. beautiful place.
The fiddles 👏👏👏👏
The purity of all of their voices - heaven to our ears! The whole family - talent galore! 👏👏👏
The amount of emotion Carol Jean puts into this song just gives me goosebumps....
My the lady in the middle has such gorgeous feet!!
Love this man! I met him last February. He is so kind and very handsome.😊
Saw him in concert Jaffrey NH. In 70s with his wife
Dear Bing, I want to tell you that I am divorcing myself permanently from my YT and Patreon addictions, but it has nothing to do with you or your wonderful videos. I thank you for all of the them and wish you the very best. With admiration and appreciation, ms
Such beautiful music and an amazing instrument! Thank you for sharing your talent and time! Absolutely wonderful!
What tuning are you using on your two necks?
I knew Jonathan in the 60’s at Ohio University in Athens. He was very kind to me at that time. It touches my heart to be able to see and hear him again. Thank you.
Thanks so much for your comment! I'd always heard that his concerts were magical; this was the first one I'd seen in person, and it's absolutely true!
He will be forever missed 😢
May you fly forever in the cosmos MR MIKE ONE WITH THE LIGHT ONE WITH THE ALL MR MIKE A GREAT MAN
✨️🙂✨️
Received the sad news this morning that Mike has joined his friends in music on the other side. He was my first "Concert" in High School. RIP, you will be missed.
We need that spirit now
In love with Cookie.....Cookie's voice !:)
I was fortunate to find these ladies album back in 2005 at a little obscure music shop near the university of Maine, Orono, and today searching for this tune. I came across multiple versions on RUclips but nothing compares to this performance simply amazing.
Mister Edwards was a inspiration for me when I was young and playing guitare. I had an album and I tried to play his song. He has a great voice and great guit playing.
Thanks for your comment! It was so kind of him to give me permission to videotape his performance!
I just got one a friend gave me.That was hanging on the wall at a youth ranch $1.50. Now it's getting strung and I can't wait. 2 or 3 days yeah.
Absolutely. Beautiful Absolutely beautiful
This is great Mike! Nice performance.
That's a crying shame about their language disappearing. I had the fortune to be raised in Montreal.... so, I had the opportunity to learn two languages straight away.... and I did. I speak, read and write three now with fluency and a fourth not as well. As my children were growing up (also in Montreal) I required them to learn both English and French and requested that they each learn a third language of their choice (seriously... if Dad can do it) and all 6 of them learned a third language! Not all the same.... but language and languages are wealth! We let them pass away at our peril.
Love that, thanks for doing it again.
So amazing! Never heard Nancy Whisky before. Love it!!!
❤
Very very Good. Make's me go back a few year's too great memories. You did well Jon.
Interesting content but hard to watch past the first few minutes due to the cameraman dancing.
Thanks for posting! I first saw them perform in 1992. I never heard them sing Sound the Pibroch. What a treat!
Nice
I got to attend a great theatre in Plymouth Mass in 2023 to see Jonathan…. An amazing man still after All these years I can still love following his work and songs and 4:20
Indeed.
Ah yeah ..as i take a hit 🤟😁
Only discovered them July 2023 at the recommendations of 2 friends. Saw them at the Lime Kiln in Lexington, Va, and fell smack in love with them! They're in Charlottesville on Feb 4, 2024 at the Jefferson Theater, and I have front row seats! This is perhaps my favorite song.
I've got you beat, Terri. I discovered them over 40 years ago on PHC and still have a vinyl recording ("Harmony") released in 1981. Tomorrow they're performing a private concert at Greenspring Senior Living in Springfield VA. I'm the concert producer. I've been looking forward to this one more than any other show on our schedule.
Was the Dance at the end at Conval??
Thanks! I understand via this Lucille Reilly link that the dance is "A Flirting Attempt," choreographed by Marian Hepburn. The orchestra is Rum & Onions, from Princeton, NJ. thedulcimerlady.com/links/youtube-sightings/
